Opening night of the NFL season is right around the corner.
In just three short weeks, the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will kick off the NFL season.
Seventeen games for each team will shape the playoff field and one analyst believes that two teams will represent the AFC East during the postseason.

FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS - JANUARY 5: James Cook #4 of the Buffalo Bills rushes with the ball against the New England Patriots during the first quarter at the Gillette Stadium on January 5, 2025 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Patriots won 23-16. MoreWhile revealing his season predictions on his daily show, "The Herd," Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd predicted both the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots will reach the playoffs.
"Bills are gonna win it. Patriots are my most improved team in the NFL," Cowherd said when discussing the division. They'll be a wild card team. They've had a very good camp," he said when discussing New England.

The Patriots may have very well had the best offseason of any team in the NFL.
That started with the hire of well-respected head coach and former New England player Mike Vrabel. Vrabel has a reputation for playing hard-nosed, smash-mouth football and that is exactly what the Patriots needed after a 4-13 season under Jerrod Mayo.
Mike Vrabel's final answer today: 'We're going to be moving. We're going to demand effort and finish. People ask what non-negotiables are — our effort and our finish is going to be the contract we make with our teammates … Time to get to work.' pic.twitter.com/1jc34TkX6t — Mike Reiss (@MikeReiss) January 13, 2025
As for the Bills, they have the reigning MVP in Josh Allen and are expected to be among the best teams not only in the AFC, but in the entire league.
A postseason appearance for Buffalo would be its seventh straight trip to the playoffs and eighth trip in the last nine seasons.
For New England, a postseason birth would be just its second since the departure of Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.
If any head coach can get the Patriots back to relevancy, it is Vrabel. It would not be surprising in the slightest to see them go 10-7 this season.

WATCH: Cowboys star penalized for bizarre sideline collision; referee explains

It's the preseason for everybody, apparently. In the exhibition opener for the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday at SoFi Stadium against the Los Angeles Rams, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was never going to play, but his impact was felt in the first half, figuratively and literally. While walking on the sideline, Lamb watched with his hands in the air as quarterback Joe Milton III threw a deep ball to wide receiver Jonathan Mingo with his back to an oncoming official. The official, not seeing Lamb in front of him, ran into the Cowboys receiver's back at full speed, sending both tumbling to the ground. Lamb was penalized for 'a foul on an official,' which offset a defensive pass interference call on the throw to Mingo. The veteran receiver popped up after the hit and shared a laugh with his teammates on the sideline. The official, Anthony Jeffries, was also not injured and remained in the game. 'It's a sideline interference,' referee Alex Moore said after the game. 'CeeDee Lamb was standing in the restricted white border area, which is our area to officiate the game. The official on the play was focused solely on doing his job and he ran into CeeDee Lamb, who was standing in that restricted area.' The Cowboys would end up scoring their first points of the preseason on that drive courtesy of a 35-yard Brandon Aubrey field goal to cut their first-half deficit to 14-3. According to the officials, the Cowboys were understanding of the call. 'It's something that everybody is aware of,' Moore said. 'That white area is our area to work safely. ... It's more of a rare situation. Normally, we don't have anybody standing that deep into the restricted area, or that type of forceful contact.' Lamb is one of many starters not expected to play in the preseason, as head coach Brian Schottenheimer resorts to a physical training camp in nearby Oxnard, California, to prepare his veterans for the team's Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4.

Chiefs rookie suffers ankle injury vs Seahawks, questionable to return in preseason Week 2

The Kansas City Chiefs may be without rookie defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott for the rest of their preseason exhibition against the Seattle Seahawks after the former Tennessee Volunteer left the game due to an ankle injury. Shortly after Norman-Lott made his way to the sideline, the Chiefs officially announced that his return is questionable. Norman-Lott joined Kansas City as a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft and was competing for a chance to start next to star pass-rusher Chris Jones in the middle of the Chiefs' defensive line before he exited the field. Take a look at the Kansas City's update on Norman-Lott's status, which was posted to Twitter by the Chiefs' official account: With Norman-Lott on the sideline, Kansas City's coaching staff will rely on Fabien Lovett Sr. and Marlon Tuipulotu to anchor the middle of their front seven against Seattle. Stay tuned for an update on Norman-Lott's status as more information about the nature and extent of his injury becomes available.
