Love Island's first winner Jessica Hayes says the fall out from instant fame was so bad she is now celibate and 'doesn't miss men or sex' following shock split from fiancé

Daily Maila day ago

has revealed that the fall out from her instant fame was so bad she has given up sex for good following her shock split from her fiancé.
The original winner of the ITV 2 show, 32, who was 22 when she bagged the £50,000 prize alongside ex Max Morley, has said she is committed to celibacy following her catapult to fame and rocky relationship history.
The twice-engaged star told the Sun that the instant fame following her appearance on ITV's flagship show is to blame for her lack of interest in men.
She told the publication: 'I don't want to fall in love; I just want peace and I'm down with being celibate.
'I don't miss sex or hugs or kisses. I don't miss men at all, to be honest.'

She explained that she had no clue how much her life would change after Love Island, pointing out that it was the first series and therefore 'I had no idea what I was in for.'
Adding that she felt at her lowest three years after starring on the show, Jessica said 'I remember feeling very lost and thinking, what now?'
'You go out a lot and party a lot and sometimes it can be to excess and that's not good for you. You come out of a show and you're a celebrity and no one says, 'This might only last five minutes... It's not a Love Island thing, it's just an issue of handling the fame.'
The social media influencer has said that whilst she is grateful for the money-making opportunities the show has given her over the past decade her priorties have changed since having children and she is no longer 'materalistic.'
Jessica revealed in February that she had split from her fiancé Zeb.
The star, who is mother to baby daughter Zendaya with Zeb and son Presley from a previous relationship, started dating Zeb in 2021 after they met through mutual friends and became engaged just a year later.
But in a reel shared to Instagram in February, she revealed that she was 'starting over' and confirmed their split.
Sharing the clip, which saw her daughter, Zendaya, playing with a pile of moving boxes, Jess explained that she was 'trusting the universe' for the next chapter of her life.
In the reel, Jess shared an insight into her new home as she stood in front of her front door and shared a snippet of her daughter in the living room before enjoying a drink in her white kitchen.
Posting her clip, she penned: 'POV, starting over with your babies, trusting in the universe that everything will be okay.'
The video showed Jessica spending some quality time with her kids and looked happy.
Following the news, fans flooded Jessica's comments with support as one penned: 'So proud of you my babe I love you all endlessly.'
'You've got this.'
'You don't realise just how strong and your babies will give you strength you never knew you had! You can do this'
'Wish you all the best with this next chapter'
Jessica and fiancé Zeb sadly lost their first child together in April 2023, three years after she miscarried son Teddy at 19 weeks with ex-partner Dan.
The news comes after she revealed she struggled with postnatal anxiety after suffering two heartbreaking miscarriages.
Jessica shared that her miscarriage heartache made her constantly worry during her pregnancy with Zendaya.
When asked 'Did going through that (suffering two miscarriages) make you worry more during this pregnancy', she told New Magazine : 'Definitely. I was constantly worried about something happening.'
'Even right at the end, I got worried something would happen to me or to her, I was just constantly overthinking and anxious.'
'Now there is still that postpartum anxiety too, when I take her out and other people are around her, I get worried.'
The star also added that she tries to fill her head with 'positive thoughts' and keep 'relaxed' when she's experiencing any anxiety.
Love Island is set to return on June 9 over on ITV2 and ITVX.

Richard Madeley presents Good Morning Britain in cast after ‘double fracture'

The 69-year-old was asked how he got the injury by co-host Susanna Reid, who remarked 'that looks sore', at the start of Monday's edition of the ITV morning show. He replied: 'It's a double fracture of the wrist. I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement in France, actually, on Friday, and the pavement was loose, and it flipped up and it flipped me forward. and I thought, am I going to win or is gravity going to win? And gravity won. Richard Madeley was forced to do 'one hand clapping' on the show thanks to his injury (Anthony Devlin/PA) 'I hit the ground hard, so yeah, I've got a double fracture and we'll see how it goes.' Reid then asked whether it was still sore to which her co-host replied: 'I'm not discussing the pain threshold.' In Monday's show, Madeley's cast could be seen as the two went on to discuss Greta Thunberg's aid boat which had been travelling to Gaza and has been boarded by Israeli forces, the NHS's recent calls for a million new blood donors to come forward, and protests in Los Angeles. As he interviewed comedian turned artist Jim Moir, best known by his stage name Vic Reeves, who showed him how he can make his bed in eight seconds, Madeley praised him with 'one hand clapping'. Madeley has co-presented the show since 2017, after previously launching ITV's This Morning in 1988 with wife Judy Finnigan, with whom he went on to present chat show Richard And Judy from 2001 to 2009. The presenter also worked on The Wright Stuff as a guest host between 2012 and 2017. Madeley's co-host Reid joined Good Morning Britain in 2014, having previously worked on BBC Breakfast and Sunday Morning Live.

The Brit Awards are moving to Manchester

The Brit Awards will be held in Manchester for the first time next year, it's been announced. It's a big change, as the ceremony, which is all about the celebration of British music and talented artists from the UK and beyond, has taken place in London for the last 48 years. The very first awards were in 1977, with the past 15 ceremonies taking place at London's O2 Brits will be held at the Manchester Co-op Live arena in 2026 and 2027 as part of a two-year-deal. Next year's event will be on Saturday 28 February and the 50th anniversary will be celebrated the following year. "After 48 years, it is great that this prestigious global event is about to arrive in the UK capital of music and culture," said Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester. "Greater Manchester has an unparalleled music heritage known around the world..."...we will pull out all the stops to show they made the right decision." Who won big at the last Brit Awards? The Brit Awards 2025 were held in March earlier this year in London. Charli XCX was the big winner on the night, taking home five awards, including Best Artist, Best Album, and Song of the Year. Former Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall won the Best Pop Act award this year, while US pop star Sabrina Carpenter was given the Global Success Award.

Nick Knowles' new wife Katie shares new photos from wedding and has already changed her name on Instagram

NICK Knowles' new wife Katie has shared some new photos from this wedding - and she's already changed her name on Instagram. Nick, 62, and Katie, 34, said 'I do' in the same venue where Rylan Clark married ex-husband Dan Neal in 2015. 8 8 8 8 The DIY SOS star and the mum-of-two were all smiles as they posed outside the country house, with the bride showing off her chic style in a stunning blue and white gown. And they've given fans a glimpse into their big day and were seen enjoying their first slow dance together after exchanging vows at Braxted Park in Essex. Now, Katie, who has already changed her surname to Knowles on social media, has shared a string of stunning photos from inside their big day. She penned to her 90,000 followers: 'When you marry your soulmate.' Katie shared photos of her and Nick hugging on the dance floor, as well as some beautiful black and white images of them cutting their three-tiered wedding cake. She also posted sweet polaroid snaps with family and friends, and a fun photo of her and Nick posed in playful costumes against a floral backdrop. Fans flooded the comments with messages of congratulations. One person wrote: 'Congratulations to you both Katie and Nick I'm happy for you both,' and a second added: 'Gorgeous .. wishing you all happiness in the world.' A third said: 'Looks like you had the perfect day even though the buried sausage didn't work,' referring to the rainy weather. Fans also loved watching clips of the couple's first dance. DIY SOS presenter Nick was decked out in his pink jacket while lingerie boss Katie sported her elegant blue floral gown as they swayed and gazed lovingly into each other's eyes. Even the joker Nick couldn't resist having a laugh and busted out some twerking at the end while Katie jokingly shook her head. Katie then did an outfit change and slipped into a white mini dress with match trainers and a glittery hat. Nick clearly liked what he saw, removing his jacket and spinning it around over his head. And despite having to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing due to injury last year, Nick proved he's still got the moves as he spun his wife around the floor. Later the pair let their hair down further by downing shots with their pals. There was also lots of entertainment for guests, with a carnival dancer taking to the stage at one point. Later, a band performed songs for the merry crowd. Nick and Katie spared no expense on the big day, which is rumoured to have cost six figures. 8 8 8 8
