Promote industrial growth extensively
Addressing the District Industries and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting, the Collector has disclosed that as many as 1,616 applications against total 1,700 received under Single Desk Portal (SDP) were solved, while 64 applications were rejected, another 64 are kept pending.
The Collector said that most of the applications which were kept pending were related to Pollution Control Board (PCB) and Legal Metrology (LM) departments.
He ordered that officials should show special attention over pending applications and solve them by discussing the issues with PBC and LM departments.
He said that officials should organise awareness programmes about the World Bank supporting programme called 'Ramp' to promote more indistries in the district.
The Collector said that as many as 76 units were physically grounded under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the district.
On the occasion, the Ceollector reviewed the progress related to the proposed industrial units of Jakson Infra, Utkarsha Alluminimum, Dhathu Nigam Limited and Cribco Green Energy Limited.
Joint Collector Kollabathula Karthik, District Industries GM Maruthi Prasad, APIIC JD Sivakumar, Atmakur RDO Pavani and others were present.

Two-day mega job mela begins in Atmakur
Nellore: While asserting the TDP-led coalition government's commitment to providing jobs to the unemployed youth, Atmakur MLA and Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has said that his ambition was to develop a dry land area like Atmakur by facilitating jobs to unemployed youth. The Endowments Minister along with noted scientist and State government's advisor Gundra Satish Reddy and Collector O Anand inaugurated a two-day mega job mela organised under the aegis of Andhra Pradesh State Development Corporation (APSDC) at Andhra Engineering College in Atmakur town on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Ramanarayana Reddy said that the dry land area in Atmakur constituency was lagging behind in development for several decades due to unavailability of water and other natural resources. He pointed out that educated youth of Atmakur were migrating to other places for livelihood due to lack of proper job opportunities. The Minister said that to overcome the problem, he has decided to organise the job mela under the aegis of APSDC. National and State-level companies will take part in the two-day event. He said that as many as 90 companies participating in the job mela proposed to provide jobs to around 3,000 unemployed youth. He urged the youth to utilise the opportunity. Noted scientist and State government's advisor Gundra Satish Reddy has said that Anam Ramanarayana has worked hard for organising such a mega job mela. District Collector O Anand said that in the recent period, the administration has provided jobs to as many as 2,000 youth in various companies and some other applications are under consideration. He advised the youth to first join a job whether it is a small or big one, because such an initiative will be like a stepping stone to help them occupy higher positions later.

Over 1.95L farmers to be covered in Nellore dist
Nellore: Collector O Anand has said that as many as 1,95,866 farmers each will get a benefit of Rs 5,000 and total Rs 97.933 crore in the 1st phase of Annadatha Sukhibhava Scheme(ASS) in the district. In a press note released here on Friday, the Collector said that under the 20th phase of Prime Minister Kisan Yojana (PMSY), 1,68, 350 farmers each will receive Rs 2,000 with the total amount being Rs 37.67 crore. The Collector said that under these two schemes, each farmer would have secured to total Rs 20,000 per year. He said that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate ASS at East Veeraiah Palem village of Darsi mandal Prakasam district on Saturday. He said that the selection of beneficiaries was being conducted in a transparent manner based on documentary evidence. Farmers who are not covered can approach the local Rythu Seva Kendram to get themselves enrolled.

Punjab needs an industrial cluster in every dist: Experts
Ludhiana: Policy experts and industry veterans raised serious concerns about Punjab's underutilisation of flagship schemes aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and MSME development recently. Sanjeev Chaddha, professor and head of the management development centre at MGSIPA, said there should be at least one industrial cluster per district to support small businesses and local manufacturing. "States like Haryana have 50 to 55 MSME clusters in operation. Southern states are also making full use of these schemes. But Punjab's figures remain negligible," he added. He introduced several central and state govt schemes that industrialists and new entrepreneurs must make use of. He also pointed out that Punjab has not implemented even a single project under the ASPIRE scheme, which is specifically designed to promote rural entrepreneurship through livelihood business incubators (LBIs) and technology business incubators (TBIs). "ASPIRE offers up to Rs 1 crore in grants for setting up rural incubators, 100% support for govt-promoted LBIs, and 50% support for private or PPP models. He was speaking during a capacity building workshop as part of the RAMP (raising and accelerating MSME performance) initiative. It was attended by small entrepreneurs and MSME stakeholders. Chaddha also explained how the cluster development programme provides shared infrastructure like common facility centres, R&D labs, and training units — especially useful for small and micro industries. "In Haryana, SPVs (special purpose vehicles) of 50 to 55 small industries have come together to form independent, successful units. Punjab should adopt this model across all districts," he said. This limits growth and innovation," he said. He stressed the importance of delegation, outsourcing, and innovation to reduce production costs. "Even Maruti cannot keep raising car prices despite increasing costs of power, material, and labour. Instead, they improve efficiency, targeting at least 1% cost reduction annually. MSMEs must adopt a similar approach." Gupta also emphasised the role of workplace culture and employee ownership models in enhancing productivity. "At Infosys, even drivers and gardeners became crorepatis through Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs). If employees feel like stakeholders, they stay committed and perform better," he said. He encouraged entrepreneurs to treat daily product improvement and cost innovation as a continuous process rather than an occasional goal. Chaddha ended the session with a motivational message for budding entrepreneurs. "Ambani and Adani began from humble backgrounds. The only difference is they fully used every opportunity and scheme available. Punjab's entrepreneurs can do the same."
