ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – A crash shut down the intersection of Buffalo Road and Howard Road in Gates Saturday evening after a driver ran a red light, according to an officer on the scene.
Authorities were called to the intersection around 7 p.m. Saturday where it was reported that at least one person was trapped. One woman was taken in an ambulance, according to police on the scene. Additional details were not immediately made available, though officers told News 8 that injuries appear minor.
At least two silver vehicles were involved, including a Chevy Silverado and a Honda Pilot. Both appeared to have collided head-on, with heavy damage to the front end of both vehicles.
Gates Police were on scene with the Gates Fire District, and Gates Ambulance.

In a police report 22News obtained from the Oregon Police Department in Ohio, at around 1:26 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were called to Brown Road for a report of a vehicle crash. The report says that a Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound when it struck a fork-style farm vehicle traveling in the same direction from behind. He was taken to the St. Vincent Hospital for serious injuries, where he later died. He was identified as 35-year-old William (Billy) Crawford of Southwick, Massachusetts. Crawford is the owner of New England Apiaries on Klaus Anderson Road in Southwick and is known for Billy's C's raw honey. Bill graduated from the Hampden County Beekeepers Association Bee School and started his first beehive. In 2007, he started selling honey from a produce farm he worked at in Westfield before forming Pioneer Valley Apiary in what became New England Apiaries. The posted speed on Brown Road is 50 MPH. The report did not indicate any citations were given to the 20-year-old driver of the Silverado at this time. A Southwick man has died after a crash in Ohio, where his beekeeping company was working this week. William Crawford III, 35, the founder of New England Apiaries, was working alongside a road in Oregon, Ohio, around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when the forklift he was using to help other workers load a company vehicle was struck by a 20-year-old driving a Chevy Silverado pickup truck, local TV news station WTOL reported. He was taken to the hospital and later died. The driver of the truck was wearing a seatbelt and uninjured, according to WTOL, and the crash remains under investigation. Crawford, who was known locally as the creator of Billy C's Raw Honey, told MassLive in 2017 that he had first gotten interested in beekeeping in 2005 at 15 years old, when he took a course offered by a regional beekeeping organization. ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Rochester Police Department is continuing its crackdown on illegal ATV and dirt bike activities. According to RPD, they conducted an ATV and dirt bike detail on Wednesday and towed 16 illegal dirt ikes and two illegal ATVs. They were also able to recover a stolen motorcycle.
