Dwyane Wade's wife Gabrielle Union breaks silence as LGBTQ+ lifeline faces shutdown

Hollywood actress and producer Gabrielle Union has drawn attention to a worrying development involving LGBTQ+ mental health services in the United States. On June 19, Union shared an Instagram Story highlighting a post about the upcoming shutdown of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline's LGBTQ+ youth option, scheduled for July 17, under the Trump administration.
Gabrielle Union raises red flag on upcoming LGBTQ+ hotline shutdown
On June 19, Gabrielle Union reposted a message from Anthony 'Kaz' (@lqvekanthony) on her Instagram story. Kaz had shared a post on X (formerly Twitter) warning that the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline's LGBTQ+ support line (Press 3) will be shut down on July 17, 2025, by the Trump administration.
In his post, Kaz wrote, 'The Trevor Project can be reached directly at 1‑866‑488‑7386, even when this is going to be gone. Please share to possibly save someone's life.'
Gabrielle Union didn't add extra words but her repost helped alert many people. She made sure her followers, many of them young and active, saw it. Even without a caption, her share made a big impact.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade stand by LGBTQ+ youth
This is not the first time Gabrielle Union has risen for the LGBTQ+ community. In fact, it is something she does often - quiet, firm and with love. Alongside her husband, former NBA star Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle has always made it clear: Their support for their daughter, Zaya Wade, who came out as transgender in 2020, is unconditional.

Gabrielle doesn't just speak when it's easy. She uses her voice when she matters the most. Whether it is sharing stories, showing on events, or supporting organizations such as Trevor Projects, she shows up for those who are often unheard.
She spoke openly about mental health, identity, breed and belonging. She listens, she learns, and she picks up people. And this is what he did again - this time with a single Instagram story.
By resharing Kaz's post about the shutdown of the 988 LGBTQ+ lifeline, she didn't add extra words. She didn't need to. Her decision to pass along that message was its own kind of call to action a way of telling her millions of followers: don't look away. Stay alert. Help if you can.
And in that one small post, she reminded people of something big: The Trevor Project's direct line, 1‑866‑488‑7386, is still active. Even if part of the system goes quiet, help is still out there.

Erin Andrews jokes about wardrobe malfunction and spray tan disaster live on stage
Erin Andrews grabbed attention with an unexpected on-stage comment about needing a towel for her dress (Getty Images) Erin Andrews found herself at the center of an unexpected wardrobe mishap during a live podcast taping in Cannes, turning heads with a bizarre and hilarious on-stage comment. As she joked about needing a towel 'to shove up' her dress and referenced a spray tan gone wrong, fans were left both laughing and cringing at the unexpected fashion blunder. Erin Andrews stirs conversation with humor and hygiene hot takes Sportscaster Erin Andrews had fans laughing and cringing at the same time after a hilarious wardrobe comment during a live podcast recording with co-host Charissa Thompson at SPORT BEACH 2025 in Cannes. The two FOX NFL personalities, known for their unfiltered banter on the Calm Down Podcast, were setting the stage when Erin asked something that caught everyone off guard: 'Hey, do you have a towel back there?' she said to the crew. Moments later, she clarified — or rather, shocked — by adding, 'I'm gonna shove it up my dress.' Charissa's immediate reaction summed it up for the audience: 'Woahhh.' Erin quickly tried to play it off: 'Just kidding.' But the moment was already out there — and it perfectly captured the unscripted, raw charm the podcast is known for. Even as the heat and humidity of Cannes caused spray tan mishaps, Erin powered through with her signature self-deprecating humor, joking, 'It's starting in the tummy, don't worry. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo It'll come out orange from the spray tan…Awkward spray tan in the UK.' Erin and Charissa's 'foot-in-mouth' moment sparks relatable vacation banter Adding another layer to the comedy, Erin admitted they were partly to blame for the situation — having ignored emails from the event organizers. 'We literally cannot complain about one thing because...I sent you emails. I sent you information, and you never got back to me about it,' she said, mimicking what the planners might say. Charissa chimed in with a clever solution: 'We need to have a code word. So every time we don't like something we just say it to each other. ' While the wardrobe moment was lighthearted, Erin got a bit more serious when addressing her ultimate fashion pet peeve — Gen Z's obsession with bathroom selfies. In another podcast clip, she didn't hold back: 'The selfies in the bathroom of your super cute outfit are for the birds. I'm not going to call you thirsty, but so desperado to take a picture of your outfit.' Also Read: 'She'll sneak onto his property': Tom Brady and Irina Shayk quietly give love another shot Her biggest gripe? Hygiene. 'Do you know how much bacteria and odours are in that place?' she asked. 'Get out of the public bathroom... find another.' With Charissa agreeing wholeheartedly, the duo once again proved that whether it's fashion fails or viral trends, they'll always keep it honest — and hilarious.
