Man arrested over viral Genting Highlands road rage fight
District police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said investigations showed the incident occurred at about 9am on Aug 3 at KM10.3 of Jalan Genting Highlands near here.
He said investigations also showed that road rage was the cause of the altercation, which left one motorist injured.
"A 32-year-old man claimed he was on his way back from Genting Highlands to Subang Jaya when he encountered a car driven by the suspect dangerously, braking suddenly and blocking his path.
"The victim managed to overtake the suspect's car, prompting the suspect to chase and ram into the rear of the victim's vehicle.
"The victim stopped his car and was suddenly attacked by the suspect, who punched him in the face and injured his neck.
"Two of the victim's friends, a 22-year-old man and woman, intervened to break up the fight," he said in a statement last night.
Police arrested the suspect at the Bentong district police headquarters later the same day.
He has been remanded for four days to assist investigations under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Zaiham advised the public not to speculate on the case.
