
Cabinet approves appointment of Saeed Mubarak Rashid Al Hajeri as Chairman of Board of Directors of Emirates Drug Establishment
ABU DHABI (WAM) The UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday announced the appointment of Saeed Mubarak Rashid Al Hajeri as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Drug Establishment.Al Hajeri brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this critical role. Currently the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Lewis & Clark College and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He has also completed the Executive Education Programme at Harvard Business School.Throughout his distinguished career, Al Hajeri has served in senior leadership positions within various UAE and Abu Dhabi government entities. His experience includes: Executive Director at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA); Chairman of the Board of the CFA Institute; Chairman of the Board of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank; Chairman of the Board of Salama Insurance Company; Board member of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA); and Board member of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination.
Recognised for his exceptional contributions to the UAE's public and financial sectors, Al Hajeri was named one of the World Economic Forum's Top 250 Young Global Leaders in 2007. He actively participates in numerous national-level economic and investment committees and councils and serves as the UAE's Sherpa to the BRICS group.

Sheikh Sultan directs provision of natural gas service to Sharjah cities
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has ordered the natural gas service be delivered to all cities in the emirate. The project in Dibba Al Hisn alone will cost Dhs22 million. This was announced by Eng. Ibrahim Al Balgouni, Director of Natural Gas Department at Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA), in a conversation with Mohammed Al Raeesi on the Direct Line programme, broadcast on Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. The natural gas project in Dibba Al Hisn is in its final stage and covers three sectors with priority given to the residential sector followed by the industrial sector and then the commercial sector, he said. Meanwhile, as many as 1,510 benefited from the project in the northern and western districts at a cost of Dhs10 million. The internal arrangements were made to 200 villas at a cost of Dhs1.2 million and the completion rate reached 75 per cent, he added. Work is underway to build a natural gas station in Dibba Al Hisn at a cost of Dhs10 million with 90 per cent of the project complete, he said. Construction is expected to be completed by the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year, while the second phase of natural gas service delivery to the Al Doub and Al Muhallab neighborhoods in Dibba Al Hisn will be completed next year, he added. During the programme, Al Raeesi reviewed an awareness-raising material produced by Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, in co-operation with SEWA. The material explained how to protect lives and homes from natural gas leaks and the required safety measures. Earlier, a caller to the programme said she had moved to a new residence and requested community awareness on how to handle any natural gas-related emergencies.
