Sky finally launches a new way to watch TV and the price will surprise you

Daily Mirrora day ago

Sky has finally launched its Glass Air TV, which is available now for a very affordable price.
Sky still rules the roost when it comes to watching TV, but tuning into this premium service has never been cheap. Luckily, that's all changed this week with the firm finally releasing its all-new Glass Air telly. This internet-connected screen was first announced all the way back in February and now, after months of waiting, it's available to order via Sky's website.
So, how much will Sky Glass Air cost, and what's included?
It's been confirmed that this television starts from just £6 per month with a £20 upfront fee. For that price, you get a 4K display, Dolby Audio and full voice controls via the neat remote.
SEE THE DEAL HERE
You can also pick it up in three colours - including White and Green - plus there are bigger screen sizes (55 and 65-inch), although these do cost extra.
One bonus of Sky Glass is that it doesn't need a dish to work with all content beamed to the screen via the web instead.
Other extras found on Glass Air include personalised recommendations, full access to all the most popular streaming apps such as Netflix and a clever Playlists feature that stores things to watch at a later date.
Of course, like all things in life, there is a catch. That £6 price is just for the TV. If you want to add things to watch, things start from an extra £15 per month.
That means you'll pay around £21, but that does include over one hundred channels and Netflix.
If you start adding more channels such as Sports and Cinema you'll pay more. A full content pack and the Air telly can cost over £50.
Mirror Online has tested the more premium Gen 2 Glass TV which we like but are yet to fully try the Air.
Hopefullt we'll have a full review soon.

Netflix users threaten to cancel subscription after 'diabolical' new update leaves them fuming

Netflix has been globally rolling out a new interface on the platform which unimpressed viewers have described as a "big step backwards". Netflix subscribers have been left unimpressed by a fresh update on the platform's user interface. The streaming giant has started introducing subscribers to an updated app from May 19, vowing to bring "better recommendations and an improved interface that highlights what matters most to you", with high hopes pinned on this latest revamp. The update features a sleek, contemporary design and boasts features like tailored suggestions and enhanced shortcuts to much-loved shows. However, it seems that Netflix, who has around 300m users, has left some of their fans frustrated by their new home page model with some even threatening to ditch their subscription in protest. ‌ One subscriber fumed as they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to write: "Netflix's update is diabolical where the hell is the coming soon section!!" Another equally irritated user chimed in: "Whoever's job it was to update Netflix UI, I'm praying for a resignation in the coming weeks. IT LOOKS TERRIBLE." ‌ Adding to the chorus of dissatisfaction, someone else remarked "[...] the NEW Netflix Update has somehow made the UI like 10000x worse, the Express reports. "It hurts my brain when I try and search new shows etc. Am I overreacting or do others not like the new UI?" Other members have also taken to Reddit to vent their frustrations. ‌ One disgruntled user penned: "It's awful. My TV updated to it automatically this week after putting off the update for ages, now it's a load of rubbish. Will be cancelling [my] subscription." A second agreed: "It's soo dire. You can't find anything. ‌ "It was so slick and easy to use before. Now it's soo clunky. I'm always willing to try new ideas, but this is a big step backwards." A third person went as far to say: "Thinking I might actually now cancel my subscription." Amid the rising backlash against the new design, a number of subscribers have rallied on to petition that Netflix reverts to its previous interface. ‌ The description outlines the grievance: "The new layout only allows users to see a sparse selection of 3 or 4 titles per screen, compared to the previously user-friendly layout of 20 or more titles. "This change not only limits variety and accessibility but also diminishes the ease-of-use Netflix was renowned for." Netflix's chief product officer, Eunice Kim, backed the revised design in May, saying: "We wanted to create an experience that was more flexible for our broad entertainment offerings, more intuitive and responsive to our members' needs, and capable of elevating the most thrilling moments on Netflix. ‌ Despite the negative feedback, other users on Reddit have pointed out that Netflix still excels compared to many other streaming platforms. However, subscribers may now need to delve deeper into data about their preferred series, encompassing everything from synopses and runtimes, to prominent awards recognition, performance metrics in Netflix's Top 10, and details on principal cast members. The streaming giant continues to assure that searching by genre and theme remains a trusty option, and reminds viewers that a welcome message will guide them through the changes upon logging in.

Genevieve - who plays Clara Livingston in the hit Netflix show - revealed that the "full on scrap" lasted for about five minutes. She pinned the 18-year-old thief to the floor but has now said he threatened to stab her. "I was threatened with being stabbed, so it became a matter of life and death," she told ITV. "I remember kicking him back with my leg to create space in case he had a weapon on him." She described it as a "life-changing, crazy moment". The star said the ordeal has left her feeling scared to venture outside and she has even left her home in the capital to take a "break" from the lawless city. Astonishing footage from police showed Genevieve grabbing Boulares' shoulder as she realised her phone had been taken. She then tackled the serial thief to the ground with the help of another customer. Genevieve managed to take her phone back from Boulares before repeatedly hitting him with it in the posh cafe. She previously claimed she suffered a concussion in the horror in February and said even her dog was "traumatised". The star added: "They didn't expect me to stand up for myself – but I did." Algerian national Boulares previously pleaded guilty to stealing the phone. The teen also admitted common assault against fellow Joe and the Juice customer Carlo Kurcishi, who had stepped in to help. Boulares pleaded guilty to a separate charge of theft after he swiped a black leather hand bag from a diner at a pizza restaurant. The court heard he has 12 previous convictions for a total of 28 offences - all relating to theft. His rap sheet includes threatening to cut off Aled Jones' arm while stealing his £17,000 Rolex. The Songs of Praise presenter, 52, was out with his son Lucas when he was targeted near their home in Chiswick, South West London. Boulares - then aged 16 - pulled out 20 inch machete and repeatedly threatened Aled in a bid to steal the luxury timepiece. He told him: "Give me your f***king Rolex or I will cut your arm off." Aled handed over the £17,000 Rolex Daytona watch rather than fight with the armed robber. He and his son bravely followed the 6ft teen but when he spotted them, he snarled: "Walk the other way or I will cut your head off." Boulares was given a two year training and detention order after pleading guilty to robbery at Ealing Youth Court. But he was released from youth detention early after serving just 14 months of his 24-month sentence. He will be sentenced for robbing Genevieve on June 17 at Isleworth Crown Court.

Reality couple SPLIT as star announces divorce and accuses ex of cheating with ‘multiple women' during 3 year marriage

The Love Is Blind couple tied the knot nearly three years ago, during season five. Lydia shared the news during an appearance on What's The Reality? podcast on June 11. She said: 'It wasn't one thing. It was a layer of situations and things that kept piling up. When I told him, 'Hey, I'll let you know when the divorce papers are ready,' his response was, 'I'm not going to sign the papers unless there's an NDA.' 'I've been quiet for too long. I needed to share my thoughts and my experience because what I've been suffering in silence has been too much for me to be quiet and keep quiet.' The reality star explained that their relationship had been 'non-existent' since March. 'At the beginning, everything was beautiful,' Lydia said, adding: 'Everything was perfect. It was a fairy tale, and he showed me the kind of love that I've never received before. He loved me for who I was.' But she went on to allege that their first row came after he refused to stop speaking to his ex-girlfriend. Lydia also alleged that, during their relationship, women had accused Milton of 'heavily flirting,' and 'buying drinks' for other women. She said he 'flipped it' on her when she confronted him, but claimed she'd been sent 'proof' from women on social media. Love is Blind UK couple reveal they're expecting their first child together a year after meeting on show Lydia also alleges that when she asked for a divorce in March, Milton said to her: 'You're too f****** stupid and an untrustworthy person,' and has 'given her the silent treatment' since then. Despite it all, Lydia says she 'still loves' Milton, and added: 'I cannot keep being in a place where I'm not wanted. I'm trying to put back the pieces that he broke.' She said they'd attempted couples therapy but added that it hadn't worked to help their relationship. Another problem occurred with the fact that Milton felt "disrespected" by Lydia posting swimwear photos. Lydia claims that she gave Milton an ultimatum saying she'd stop posting swimwear snaps, if he stopped liking photos of girls in bikinis. 'I stopped and he didn't,' she said, adding: 'What stopped was him engaging with my posts." The Sun's has contacted Milton's representative for comment. Lydia went on to say that she thinks their romance lacked 'emotional availability, maturity, support and communication.' But she says Milton will always be a special person in her story, despite their split. Lydia and Milton left Love Is Blind as a married couple, after meeting and getting engaged in the pods. They did have to navigate distance early on in the marriage, with Lydia living in Houston while Milton was based in Long Beach, Calif. But they ended up moving in together, and decided to coordinate schedules to make their marriage work, amongst the business of it all. Milton said just last year: 'That's our big thing. We share calendars and plan things that way. 'It is a challenge, but it's literally taught us how to really get organized because if we don't get organized, it just gets too complicated." Things seemed to be going from strength to strength for the couple. Lydia planned a getaway to Fredericksburg to celebrate their second anniversary, and she raved about her husband last year, in a sweet Instagram post. She said at the time: 'My love, watching you tirelessly pursue your academic dreams while managing a grueling 55-60 hour work week fills me with immense pride. Your dedication and resilience inspire me daily. 'You always provide a sanctuary in your arms, offering comfort even when your own reserves are low. 'Our marriage isn't flawless, but with you, it feels magical. You have an effortless way of showing up for me, piecing me back together when I need it the most.' Lydia continued: 'You're more than my partner; you're my soulmate, my steadfast companion in this crazy life. Every wrong turn I took before led me straight to you, and for that, I'm eternally grateful. I appreciate you more than words can express. I love you beyond the beyond!"
