To mark the 8th anniversary of Bareilly Ki Barf, Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurana have shared a special teaser from the film, much to the joy of their fans.
Ayushmann Khurrana, Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao's much-loved rom-com drama Bareilly Ki Barfi has completed eight years since its release. The film continues to hold a special place in the hearts of audiences for its humorous yet realistic storyline and the heartwarming performances.
Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, the film was not only a commercial success at the box office but also received wide appreciation from critics and went on to earn several award nominations, making it one of the most memorable films of 2017. To mark the 8th anniversary of the film's release, Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurana have shared a special teaser from the film, much to the joy of their fans.
Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurrana Shared Special Teaser
Taking to Instagram, Kriti Sanon and Ayushmann Khurrana shared a short video clip instantly transporting fans back to the world of Bitti, Chirag and Pritam Vidrohi. Along with the heartfelt video, Kriti wrote, 'It's been 8 years to my sweetest film." and we couldn't agree more.
Kriti Celebrates The Milestone With Real Barfi
Adding to the celebrations, Kriti Sanon delighted fans with a fun Instagram story. She was seen holding a box of Barfi and enjoying a piece with a playful expression, perfectly capturing the essence of the film. Alongside the clip, she wrote, 'Toh phir Barfi ho jaaye?" while using the hit track Sweety Tera Drama from the movie, composed by Tanishk Bagchi. The cheerful post left fans smiling as they revisited the film's joyous memories.
Is There Any Sequel to Bareilly Ki Barfi?
Over the years, many fans have expressed their wish to see a sequel to Bareilly Ki Barfi to once again watch the trio of Bitti, Chirag and Pritam Vidrohi on the big screen. However, director Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari has firmly ruled out the possibility of making one. Speaking to Times Now, she explained that she believes the story had already reached a natural conclusion with the film's ending.
The filmmaker shared, 'I'm not a very big fan of sequels, contrary to the fact I know that it is nice to have sequels because you always lap onto the past and move forward. But, a sequel has to be so good that it has to be better than your previous one. It has to surpass the expectations of the previous one and has to also be in the time and age of when you're telling that story. Bareilly Ki Barfi happened eight years back."
She added, 'At that time, Lucknow and Bareilly were called midtowns. Now they're cities. A lot of things have changed in eight years. The roads are better, the way they dress has changed and the standard of living has improved. There's a lot of work and a lot of thinking. I am always very careful. Are you making sequels for the heck of making a sequel or you are doing it because you really want to make it and it does make sense?"
Re-release of Bareilly Ki Barfi
The love for Bareilly Ki Barfi has not dimmed even after eight years. The film, which originally hit theatres on August 18, 2017, made a grand comeback on February 7, when it was re-released in cinemas across India. The re-release allowed fans to relive the magic of the film on the big screen, and the response was filled with the same enthusiasm and affection that made the film a success during its initial run.
Based on Nicolas Barreau's novel The Ingredients of Love, Bareilly Ki Barfi also featured stellar performances from Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa in pivotal roles.

Honey Singh calls influencer ‘manhoos' for suggesting he got a nose job, had drastic weight loss: ‘Kuch nahi hua, I'm working hard'
Yo Yo Honey Singh's battle with mental health is well-documented as the rapper has often talked about it in detail on record. After losing 18 kilograms of weight in one month, some of his fans have been left worried. One of them took to his Instagram handle to post a video about Singh's drastic weight loss, and even the change in the shape of his nose, much to the rapper's amusement. A digital creator, who goes by the handle @jkxbandit, said in the video, 'I don't know why no one has noticed this yet, but something has happened to Honey Singh. He was looking so glamorous for the past two years, but in his recent videos and photos, you can see there's something wrong with his nose.' The video then zoomed in on Singh's slightly crooked nose for reference. Along with a hint at a nose job, the creator also expressed his concern for Singh's drastic weight loss. 'Honey Singh goes to the gym everyday, but his body has been only shrinking. I think something has happened in his life again, which he's not telling anyone,' added the content creator. Singh spotted the video and commented, 'Kuch nahi hua manhoos (Nothing has happened) (laughing with tears emoji). I'm working out hard for glorious days.' While some fans of the rapper expressed concern in the comments, others heaved a sigh of relief at Singh's denial and sent him their best wishes for his good health. Singh's long-standing issues with mental health surfaced in 2014 when he was about to perform in the US as part of a tour organized by Shah Rukh Khan among others. 'When they took me to Chicago for the show, I said, 'I don't want to perform'. I was sure that I was going to die during that show. Everyone told me that I should get ready, but I refused. My managers came over, and they said, 'Why aren't you getting ready?' I said, 'I'm not going,'' he said in his recently released Netflix India documentary Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous. Honey even smashed a coffee mug on his head to get out of performing on the tour then. Later, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. While recovering, his medication involved a lot of sodium that led to massive weight gain over months. After returning to action recently, Singh's weight reduced from 95 kg to 77 kg. In an interview with Aaj Tak, his fitness trainer revealed Singh's diet which led to the drastic weight loss organically.
