Gadchiroli's development is a priority: CM Fadnavis tells officials

reviewed development works in Gadchiroli, including the pre-monsoon preparations and chalked out future strategy, in a meeting with officials. Fadnavis said, "Gadchiroli district is a top priority on my development agenda, and all govt departments should keep this in mind, prioritizing the district in their plans and executing development works accordingly.
"
The CM emphasized the need for coordinated mechanisms at both district and state levels to prevent flood situations in Gadchiroli. He specifically instructed officials to remain vigilant about potential risks due to water inflow from Madhya Pradesh.
In the meeting held at Zilla Niyojan building, Fadnavis directed the district collector to ensure sufficient stocks of food grains and medicines in villages likely to lose connectivity during the monsoon, as well as arrangements for the safe relocation of pregnant women.
For permanent solution to connectivity issues in such villages, he urged efforts to complete at least two of the five approved phases this year.
Regarding road construction in forest areas, he instructed the forest department, public works department, national highways authority, and other relevant departments to work in coordination. He stressed that, except for the tiger corridor, the forest department should not create obstacles for other routes.

He warned that the forest department must adopt a people-centric approach, and any high-handedness by forest officials would not be tolerated, with action against those acting arbitrarily.
He also directed that important road and bridge projects in the district be completed swiftly.
While reviewing the land acquisition for the Wadsa-Gadchiroli railway line, he noted delays and instructed officials to set a timeline and expedite the process.
Fadnavis assured that he will strive to secure the necessary budgetary provisions for the district's overall progress, and directed minister Ashish Jaiswal to follow up, stating that he has delegated full authority to him as his representative.
Fadnavis added that he deliberately took on the role of guardian minister for Gadchiroli to ensure its issues reach him directly. This is the first time that a CM has become guardian minister of Gadchiroli.

After completing 10 months in power, Yunus used his Eid address to announce that the country would go to the polls in April next year. It is pertinent to note that this will be the first national election in Bangladesh after a violent protest in the country toppled former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government. Shortly after Yunus's address to the nation, both ex-PM Khaleda Zia's Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Hasina's Awami League issued respective statements condemning Yunus's 10-month-long leadership.
