The Hundred 2025: Trent Rockets to play a batter short, Adam Hose taken to hospital for scans after horror injury

By News Desk Published on August 16, 2025, 20:30 IST Last updated August 16, 2025, 20:30 IST Trent Rockets have been dealt a huge blow in their match against Southern Brave in The Hundred 2025 , as sources have confirmed that Adam Hose has been taken to hospital for scans and recovery assessment following his on-field injury at Trent Bridge. Hose went down in severe pain while attempting to field during the Brave innings, with early signs suggesting a possible dislocation to his right knee. The incident was serious enough to halt play temporarily, as medical staff rushed in and players left the field during treatment. Although no official statement has yet been released, sources have confirmed that Hose has been transported to hospital for detailed scans and further medical evaluation. His immediate return to action is ruled out, and the Rockets will now have to continue the game with only 10 available batters. We wish Adam Hose a speedy recovery after an injury to his leg in the field. 💛 #TheHundred — The Hundred (@thehundred) August 16, 2025 Meanwhile, Southern Brave managed to put up 140 on what was described as a slow, sluggish surface, with Leus du Plooy anchoring the innings with a 34-ball 55, supported by late cameos from Michael Bracewell and James Coles. The Rockets' sloppy fielding and missed chances added to their troubles. With Hose sidelined and the team one batter short, Trent Rockets face an uphill task in their chase. His absence is not only a tactical disadvantage but also a major setback to team morale. Everyone around the game will be hoping for positive news from the hospital as Hose undergoes scans, with wishes pouring in for his speedy recovery. The Hundred 2025: What happens now? Will Trent Rockets play with only 10 players after Adam Hose's injury?

Adam Hose unlikely to return with the bat after suspected dislocation in The Hundred. By News Desk Published on August 16, 2025, 20:17 IST Last updated August 16, 2025, 20:17 IST The injury to Southern Brave's Adam Hose during the The Hundred 2025 match against Trent Rockets has raised questions about how the game continues when a player is forced off the field. Hose appeared to suffer a serious knee or ankle injury while fielding, and medical staff, along with reports of an ambulance being called, suggest he will not be able to return to the game. Can Southern Brave replace Adam Hose on the field? In cricket, when a player is injured and cannot continue, the Laws of Cricket allow the team to use a substitute fielder. This substitute can only field — they are not allowed to bowl, bat, or captain the side. This means Southern Brave will still have 11 players on the field, but Hose's absence will be felt in terms of batting depth. What about Adam Hose's batting role? If Adam Hose is unable to return later in the match, the Brave will effectively be one batter short. This means when their turn to bat comes, they may have to play with only 10 available batters, which could weaken their chase or total. His injury therefore impacts not just fielding strength but also the team's batting resources. Tactical impact Fielding : Southern Brave will bring in a substitute fielder to cover Hose's position, but his athleticism and experience will be missed. Batting : If he cannot bat, the team's middle order will be lighter, putting more responsibility on the remaining batters. Team morale: Serious injuries often affect players' focus, as teammates are naturally concerned about their colleague's wellbeing. Southern Brave will not be forced to play with just 10 men on the field; they can use a substitute fielder under cricket rules. However, Adam Hose's absence will hit them hard when it comes to batting, potentially leaving them one short if he cannot recover in time to bat.
