When it comes to talking about the genuine Super Bowl contenders in 2025, the Kansas City Chiefs are still a force to be reckoned with.

While not everyone shares that same sentiment, Andy Reid's team, until knocked off their AFC perch, will still be the top dog in the conference.
Yes, the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and Cincinnati Bengals will all be clamoring to knock Kansas City off, but as of now, none have succeeded in doing so in the last three years.
And for former NFL running back Rashard Jennings, when speaking on Good Morning Football, Kansas City is still the team to beat in the conference.
'Patrick Mahomes, you got Andy Reid, Travis Kelce is still there, they bring back healthy receivers, in short, yes,' Jennings said on if the Chiefs are AFC favorites. 'They're the premier team, they've created a dynasty, they went to the Super Bowl last year, that's the only thing you could have done besides win. You have to go through them, and it's going to be a tough season for a lot of guys when they go see the Kansas City Chiefs. When we talk about the AFC, they are the front (team).''

The Chiefs' aura might have been slightly dented after the Super Bowl blowout, but the roster appears to be in solid shape as we turn for training camp.

The receiver room is healthy (for now), and there is hope that the offensive line can sort itself out with Jaylon Moore and Josh Simmons the new pieces in front of Patrick Mahomes.
Granted, the Super Bowl loss leaves a lasting impression, and there is a sense that the Chiefs won't be the top dog in 2025. However, until we see another team, whether it be Buffalo or Baltimore, successfully knock them off their perch in the postseason, the Chiefs will get the benefit of the doubt.
Which is what winning two Super Bowls in the last three years gets you.

Trey McBride: Kyler Murray and I can have the same connection as Mahomes and Kelce

Cardinals tight end Trey McBride is at the Tight End University summit this week, sharing thoughts with other tight ends from around the NFL, and he said a discussion with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was particularly inspiring. McBride said on ESPN that Kelce talked about his connection with Patrick Mahomes and how a tight end can make himself the quarterback's best friend. McBride said that he believes he and Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray can develop the same kind of ability to work together that the Chiefs have with Kelce and Mahomes. Advertisement "Travis, he would always give us his nuggets on being friendly to the quarterback," McBride said. "Make sure you and your quarterback are on the same page. He plays with a little freedom. Him and Mahomes have a nice connection and I kind of took that and was like, 'Why can't Kyler and I have that same connection?' I feel like that's what I've tried to do. I've tried to have that same relationship and that growth with Kyler and just continue to make plays for him and be that security blanket where if he needs somewhere to go with the ball, he always can throw it to me and that's what I'm trying to do for him." McBride made his first Pro Bowl last season and was rewarded with a four-year, $76 million contract extension. The Cardinals expect Murray and McBride to connect for many years in Arizona. McBride thinks they can have one of the best connections in the NFL.

Denver Broncos Believe They're Better Than Dynastic Kansas City Chiefs in AFC West Rivalry

Denver Broncos Believe They're Better Than Dynastic Kansas City Chiefs in AFC West Rivalry originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Denver Broncos are building something. Not even the most avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs can argue against that. Advertisement But are they this season so built up that they are going to match the Chiefs, win the AFC West and end the KC dynasty? That seems far-fetched. But ... We suppose it justifiably starts with the Broncos themselves believing it can be done. And a Denver insider says Broncos head coach Sean Payton has his team thinking just that. In a segment on Denver's 104.3 The Fan, longtime Broncos reporter Mike Klis said that the Broncos are confident about their chances to take down the nine-time defending division champions. "I know inside the locker room, Sean Payton has them believing they're better than the Chiefs now," Klis said. Advertisement Klis said Payton has instilled a mentality of "swag" in his club, which to its credit did engineer for itself a 2024 turnaround with a 10-7 record. Can that be improved upon? Some think Denver having ended the 2024 regular season by clinching a playoff berth with a 38-0 win over a Chiefs team that treated the outing like an exhibition game is a foundational building block. Again, that seems far-fetched; the Broncos know that KC was sitting most of the starters after having clinched the AFC's top seed for the playoffs. We will find out soon enough, and we will find out in a head-to-head manner, too. Advertisement Denver and Kansas City meet for the first time in 2025 in the Mile High City on Nov. 16, with the second meeting in Kansas City scheduled for Christmas night. "Whether we think this team is good, whether we think this team can win the AFC West, they believe it. Sean Payton's got them believing it," Klis said of the upstart Broncos.
