Actor Imran Khan had a short but impactful time in the movies in the late 2000s-early 2010s. The actor appeared in films like Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na and Delhi Belly in this period which continue to be loved by his fans. In a new interview, Imran shared that people around his uncle Aamir Khan, who was also the producer of Delhi Belly, had a very negative reaction to the Abhinay Deo film. He recalled that despite the negative reactions, Aamir stood by the movie.
In a conversation shared on the YouTube channel Scene1Take1, Imran said that after they finished shooting the film, they had a small screening with the first cut. This was at Aamir's office and a few people, including Imran, Abhinay, writer Akshat Verma, a few of Aamir's friends and some staff members from the office were present at the screening. 'When it ended, Aamir's very close family friend, he said, 'Aamir what have you done? What have you made?' He pointed at me and said, 'Tu iska career barbaad kar dega (You will destroy his career).' He said, 'Aamir, tu meri maan (listen to me), don't release this film. Bury the negative,'' he said.
Imran Khan recalled that Aamir Khan's security personnel at the time also disliked the film. 'Aamir's security guy at that time, he chimed in and said, 'Sir, aaj tak aapne jo bhi naam kamaya hai, mitti mein mil jayega sab. Agar aap iss picture ko release karenge, aapka naam mitti mein mil jayega (Sir, whatever name you have made for yourself, it will all be destroyed. If you release this film, you will be destroyed).' They just piled on him. They were like, 'This film is terrible, it's offensive, obscene, ugly, disgusting. It's a bad film.' The entire feedback was, 'Burn the negative. Don't let anybody find out that you have made this film,'' he recalled.

Imran said that after listening to these reactions, he and Akshat (writer) fell ill for two days but Aamir 'didn't flinch.' 'Aamir didn't flinch. He looked at the whole thing and he said, 'No, it is correct. You guys have shot the right film, it's there, the problem is only the edit. Whatever was there in the script, you guys have shot it and you have delivered it, don't worry about it. We just have to edit it correctly,'' he said. Imran said that it was after this that the team learnt a 'very valuable lesson' as they re-edited the film.
Delhi Belly also starred Vir Das and Kunal Roy Kapur.

Sitaare Zameen Par Director On Aamir Khan's Decision To Retire: ‘Knew He'd Never Quit Acting'

Last Updated: Director RS Prasanna reveals he knew Aamir Khan's decision to quit acting was emotional, not final, and opens up on their bond during Sitaare Zameen Par. Director RS Prasanna, best known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, is all set to return with Sitaare Zameen Par, starring Aamir Khan and marking the debut of 10 specially-abled actors. While talking about the journey of working on the slice-of-life sports drama, the filmmaker also recalled Aamir's brief decision to quit acting post the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. In a recent conversation with SCREEN (Indian Express), Prasanna opened up about the moment he heard Khan wanted to take a break. 'It was very shocking! Imagine when a superstar like Aamir meets me and decides to quit acting, people would blame me. Aisa kya tha director mein ki he made a superstar quit acting!" he joked. He continued, 'But I knew it was an emotional response by Aamir sir. Like the sitaare, he's also got that keeda of acting. Aamir sir is a child of cinema. He's never going to quit acting. I told him that. So, you take a break. Certainly, you should take a break because you're going through an emotional phase. And time heals." Drawing a parallel, Prasanna added, 'To say you'll quit acting is like Sachin Tendulkar saying he'd quit cricket or AR Rahman saying he'd quit music. It's unheard of!" When asked if he noticed any change in Aamir's demeanor after his return, Prasanna shared, 'When I first met him in 2020, I found him to be a very real and vulnerable man. The time he took off to spend time with his family and loved ones healed him a lot." The filmmaker also recalled Aamir being touched by audience appreciation. 'I remember him telling me that he was at an airport, and so many people came to him and said, 'We loved Laal Singh Chaddha. Keep doing this kind of cinema. We love you!'" Aamir Khan's next, Sitaare Zameen Par, which also stars Genelia Deshmukh, hits theatres on June 20, 2025. The film is described as a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par and introduces 10 debutant actors with special needs. First Published:

Housefull 5A & 5B: Discover the two epic endings of Akshay Kumar's film – which one will you choose?

Akshay Kumar returns to comedy, but in a new avatar with Housefull 5. But how you ask? Because the new instalment of the Housefull franchise is a murder mystery this time. The twist doesn't end here. Released on June 6, the film comes with not one, but two different endings -something different for the audience this time. Released as Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, each version offers a different climax with a different killer; a double dose of fun, chaos, and confusion. So, which one is the right pick for you? Housefull 5 sets sail on a luxury cruise where a billionaire celebrates his birthday. But the fun takes a deadly turn when the birthday boy (played by Ranjeet) is mysteriously found dead, right after declaring he'll leave his fortune to someone named Jolly. The catch? There are three Jollys on the ship—played by Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, and Abhishek Bachchan—and all three, along with their glamorous girlfriends (played by Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, and Nargis Fakhri respectively), land on the suspect list. Blending mindless comedy with the franchise's signature spirit, the film comes in two versions. Each one has a different killer and alternate ending, elevating viewers' experience. While the first two hours of Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B remain the same, it's the last 20 minutes which sets the climax apart. Reportedly, both versions of the film are getting nearly equal screen space at theatres. Most multiplexes seem to be running two shows each of Housefull 5A and 5B per screen. The film is majorly clashing with Kamal Haasan's Thug Life, which was released in theatres on June 5. Going by online reviews from fans and critics, Housefull 5 has received a mixed response. Talking about Housefull 5A, a user wrote on X, formerly Twitter, 'Housefull 5A is my favourite film this year! Redefining the limits of cinema. Proud to have seen this piece of art. Can literally not imagine how they made it, it is insane that so much money was invested to pull this off. Now give me my money back.' 'Just watched #Housefull5A and it's literally a house full of laughter, madness, and non-stop fun,' added another. After watching Housefull 5B, one more wrote in an impromptu review: 'I watched #Housefull5B. It's so good. Khiladi back on his way.' 'Some insights on #Housefull5 A and #Housefull5 B. A is more of a comedy, with a light-hearted climax presented in comic way. B follows a Darker tone and ends with a serious climax (sic).' Previously, Akshay Kumar had advised viewers to watch the film two times, one version each time for better understanding. The idea of having two different climaxes is said to be a fun strategy to maximise profits. It may also boost footfall in the theatres. At the trailer launch of Housefull 5, producer Sajid Nadiadwala had said that a film with two different endings was something that hadn't 'happened anywhere else in the world'. He added that he had been toying with the idea for the last 30 years. "I've written a story [Housefull] where every theatre will have a different killer. So, if you watch it at Gaiety, it'll have one killer. If you watch it at Galaxy, there'll be another. In PVR screen number 4, you'll see a different killer, and in PVR screen number 5, yet another one. It's like every time you watch the film, you'll get a different ending," he had said. Housefull 5 is directed by Tarun Mansukhani. It stars Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Johny Lever, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chunky Panday, Dino Morea, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma. The film marks one of the widest releases in Akshay Kumar's career, with 5,000 screens nationwide.
