KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Thousands of Evergy customers across the Kansas City metro are waking up without power Thursday morning as storms and flash flooding continue to affect households on both sides of the state line.
Evergy is reporting more than 22,000 Kansas City metro customers without power.

As of 6 a.m. Thursday, the company's outage map shows at least 14,000 customers in Kansas with power out.
While more than 8,000 people are without power on the Missouri side of the metro.
In Wyandotte County, BPU has just over 2,000 customers who need service as of 6 a.m. Thursday.

(WFRV) – Severe weather moved through Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon, and while Local 5's viewing area was largely spared from the worst of the storms, two tornadoes have been confirmed in the southern part of the state. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee, survey crews confirmed an EF-0 tornado with estimated winds of 70 miles per hour. It began near the intersection of County Road E and W. Hillcrest Road, about three miles southwest of Hustisford in Dodge County. The tornado touched down around 3:22 p.m. and lifted near Grey Road and Wildcat Road, northeast of Hustisford, at approximately 3:36 p.m. 'Summer of Drive-Thru:' Appleton Chick-fil-A to give away free chicken sandwiches A second EF-0 tornado, with estimated winds of 65 miles per hour, was confirmed in cornfields and tree lines near Buckhorn Road and Breezy Point Road—about five miles north-northeast of Beaver Dam. That tornado briefly touched down at 2:59 p.m. NWS survey teams are continuing to assess damage in the area and are looking for additional evidence of other tornadoes. WAUTOMA, Wis. (WFRV) – Heavy storms rolling through the area have caused widespread flooding in Wautoma, prompting travel delays and road closures. According to the Wautoma Police Department, most city roads are flooded, and some vehicles are reportedly stuck in high water. Drivers are being asked to avoid the area if possible until floodwaters recede. Storms are continuing to move through northeast Wisconsin. The latest Wisconsin weather forecast from Storm Team 5 In a release from Wautoma Police Chief Paul Mott, he cited that State Highways 21 and 73 were closed around 4:20 p.m. up until roughly 5:03 p.m. as vehicles became stalled in the floodwaters. 'Wautoma Fire Chief Grenier stated this was the worst flooding he's seen since 2001,' Chief Paul Mott said in the release. Local 5 was on the scene and will continue to provide updates as needed. Shortly after 5 p.m., drivers in the area were experiencing major delays as a result. Heavy rains were expected across the Las Vegas area and surrounding areas. Over one inch of rain fell near Primm Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service of Las Vegas. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.
