Emmerdale fans confused as star's exit on ITV show sealed

On Wednesday night, Ross Barton and Steph Miligan split up after only recently getting back together.
Steph has been in a bad place over the last few weeks, thanks to a discovery about her parentage and the secret murder of Anthony Fox.
However, things have only gotten worse after she learned about Ross's fling with GP Manpreet Sharma.
Despite things going well, it only took a conversation between Steph's mother, Ruby Miligan and Manpeet for things to come crashing down.
Searching for details about Manpreet's life, nosy characters Ruby and Lewis Barton discovered that he had a one-night stand with Ross.
The pair were mortified by the admission, while Ross attempted to defend himself by claiming it "meant nothing".
Manpreet then took offence to this statement, and Steph told Ross that it was all over for them.
According to the Mirror, Steph actress Georgia Jay has already confirmed that she will be exiting the show for maternity leave, but the exact details of her break are yet to be officially revealed.
In the meantime, Emmerdale fans were left confused by Manpreet's decision to share the details of this one-night stand with Ruby.
One viewer said on the ITV show's official Reddit page: "Why would Manpreet mention that in front of Steph's mum and Ross's brother? Wonder what she finds out next that causes her to leave? Temporary, just due to maternity leave?"
Another said: "Wow, I didn't expect Ruby to find out today and tell Steph. I guess that explains why Ross will kiss/sleep with Manpreet again this week.
"The lie was probably so they would have a reason to break up again. I wonder if Steph will leave tmw."
A third added: "I hope they are not going to use that as the big secret/reason why Steph leaves. I get that she didn't want to be lied to and she doesn't feel like she can trust Ross, but it's Ross… girl he ain't worth it.
"Kidding aside, I know the actress is set to leave (for a while) but this would be a poor reason to use for why, imo."
A fourth person penned: "Really don't understand why Manpreet would share she had a one-night stand with Ross to Ruby of all ppl.
"I also don't see why it's such a big deal to Steph. She dumped him and he had a one-night stand."

Sci-fi fans can binge all 4 seasons of ‘mind-blowing' series for free on ITVX

If you're in search of a solid genre romp, ITV has added four seasons of a Roswell-set alien mystery series to entertain you this weekend. Based on Melinda Metz's Roswell High series of novels, The CW sci-fi drama Roswell, New Mexico is about a bunch of extraterrestrial beings who infiltrate small-town America – except, they're the good guys. With a third and fourth season that have never aired in the UK before, the first season kicks off with the return of Liz Ortecho, a scientist played by Jeanine Mason, who finds not much has changed in her hometown. Amid government cuts in biomedical research, Liz is forced back home to live with her father after first leaving town in the wake of her younger sister Rosa's death. Many of her classmates from her high school days are still stuck in Roswell – the infamous ground zero for alien activity in the US – including her former crush, Max Evans (Nathan Dean Parsons), who's now a local police officer. As Liz starts to get close to Max again (sparks naturally flying), she learns he isn't quite what he seems. In a twist straight out of Apple TV Plus's Sugar, Max is in fact a member of an alien race that crash-landed in the 1940s. He has kept his unearthliness hidden all this time. But a government conspiracy threatens to expose Max and his family – and could endanger not only their lives but also his newfound romance with Liz… Dun, dun, dun! If this sounds a bit like The Vampire Diaries or Pretty Little Liars type of soapy drama, it has a couple of stars from those shows – Michael Trevino and Tyler Blackburn. Other cast members include Nathan Parsons, Michael Vlamis, Jeanine Mason, Lily Cowles, and Heather Hemmens. Fans have long heaped the highest compliments onto the show, which first aired between 2019 and 2022 in the US and maintains a glowing record of Google reviews today. Saskia Robbiati described the show as 'amazing' and the chemistry between Liz and Max is 'undeniable', adding: 'I really appreciate how relevant the show is to today's issues, focusing on immigration and all forms of prejudice with humanity and depth. 'The show is action-packed, the chemistry and acting are on point and the mystery is really interesting.' Stephanie praised: 'Roswell, New Mexico is one of my new favorite shows on television! It's amazing and has a great cast, plus I'm a die hard Originals and Vampire Diaries fan.' James Bertamini chimed in: 'Show is absolutely terrific!! Roswell is a must see for anyone who loves alien movies or shows. More Trending 'I put off watching it for years (although an alien buff) . I thought Hollywood did Roswell to death, but this show is different. The storyline is well thought-out, and the acting is superb. My hat is off to the creators of this mind-blowing series.' Meanwhile, the show also has a respectable 77% score from critics on review site Rotten Tomatoes, while audience ratings put it at 62%. So, with a total of 52 episodes to sink your teeth into, surely that's your week's TV sorted? View More » Roswell, New Mexico is available to stream on ITVX. Got a story? Her friend was gobsmacked by what she saw and Princess told her: "Usually it's like old men, going on about my toes Sometimes they'll be like, 'let me take you on a date.'" In a piece to camera, she added: "I can't even read this message out, it's actually disgusting. "I do love my job and I do love social media and I do love interacting with people but there is a dark side to social media that people don't see, and there are a lot of inappropriate messages that…yeah some of them can be horrible. "Like I'm literally 17, that's actually not OK." Later in the episode, Princess was hanging out with her dad and mentioned the messages she is receiving. Looking up with alarm, Peter asked what sort of messages, and his daughter said it's often men asking to see her feet and so on. With a look of alarm, Peter replied: "Please God that's the only thing they ask for." But Princess delivered more bad news when she told him they also ask: "Are you finally legal now?" Peter grimaced and put a hand to his face, before Princess found the message she had shown her friend. Prince Harry's sour rift with William poses awkward dilemma as big royal event looms

It could be in the near future that the Royal Family will get to enjoy a very happy event - but it could prove awkward for warring brothers Prince William and Prince Harry A royal wedding is seemingly on the cards after a much-loved member of the family announced he is engaged. ‌ Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips revealed he popped the question to his girlfriend Harriet Sperling after a year of dating, with his fiancé being spotted at several high profile events, including Royal Ascot. ‌ Peter's uncle King Charles is said to have been delighted with the news as was his close cousin Prince William and his wife Kate. Although no date is believed to have been set for any nuptials yet, many have wondered who might bag an invite, especially as Peter is thought to be close to both estranged brothers, William and Prince Harry. It comes after news that Prince Harry will 'never be forgiven' by two major royals despite reconciliation hope. ‌ READ MORE: Prince William was 'human shield' in tense moment between Kate Middleton and Meghan And for former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, it could prove awkward when it comes to a guest list, but predicts there could be a surprise. She explained to the Mirror: "It seems that Harriet is already a hit in the Royal family. It was quite an accolade for her to be invited to join the carriage possession at Royal Ascot, and she was seen chatting animatedly with the King. ‌ "Given that both she and Peter are divorced, I suspect their wedding may be a fairly low-key civil ceremony. But Peter is very popular in the family and so the reception could well be at Windsor Castle or another royal residence. "As with all weddings, there will be a conundrum about who to invite. Peter was always very close to both William and Harry. During the difficult times he has been something of a buffer, for example, walking between them at the funeral of their grandfather, Prince Philip. "However, it's going to be awkward for him to invite them both to his wedding. On the other hand, both William and Harry attended the funeral of their uncle, Lord Fellowes, and even though they were in the same church and then the same room it seems they did not speak. So, anything is possible. ‌ "All things considered, it might be better for Peter and Harriet to have a quiet wedding with just a few friends and family present." Peter, 47, was previously married to Autumn Kelly, with whom he has two daughters Isla and Savannah. He also dated long-term partner Lindsay Wallace before they split last year and he later found love with Harriet, an NHS nurse. ‌ In April 2024, it was revealed that Peter had split with previous girlfriend Lindsay, who were said to have amicably separated with work commitments proving a stumbling block for the pair. His split with Lindsay came four years after it was announced Peter and ex-wife Autumn had called time on their marriage after 12 years - marking a tumultuous time for his love life. Peter married his first wife Autumn back in May 2008 in a grand ceremony at St George's Chapel in Windsor, with guests including the late Queen and Prince Philip as well as his cousin Prince Harry. Although Prince William was unable to make it, the Princess of Wales was invited, despite being unmarried at the time - and it is believed the wedding marked the first time she met the late Queen. ‌ The couple spent time living in Hong Kong through Peter's previous job with the Royal Bank of Scotland and eventually settled back in the UK with their two daughters Savannah, 14, the late Queen's oldest great-grandchild and Isla, 13. However, towards the end of 2019, the couple separated and revealed they had taken the difficult step in an emotional statement in 2020. When they married in 2008, the couple raised eyebrows when the pictures from the wedding were sold to a magazine for a large sum. And Jennie added: "I imagine Peter has learnt his lesson from his first wedding, when he sold the picture rights to a magazine for £500,000. It did not go down well with the Queen or the palace, who said it had been 'a serious error of judgement'."
