Adam Scott is addicted to doing laundry

Yahoo14-04-2025

Adam Scott is addicted to doing laundry. The 'Severance' actor, 52, made the admission to People and said it winds up his wife as he does it at all hours if he can't sleep. He said: 'You know, something that is a habit of mine, and I don't know if it's toxic or not. 'My wife has started losing patience with me... (it's) that I love doing laundry.' The 'Parks and Rec' star went on to explain his routine with cleaning clothes, adding: 'I love it and I'll do it at all times of the day. 'Like if I can't get to sleep, I'll look for laundry to do and I'll do it. I love putting it in and measuring the soap and waiting and then putting it in.' His enthusiasm for laundry has earned him the title of having a 'toxic trait' from his wife, Naomi Scott, though he's not sure if that label truly fits. Adam said it wasn't always his passion, adding: 'It's not something I've always loved. 'I kind of discovered, in turning into a grown-up, that I love the process of doing laundry. '(My family) find it annoying, honestly.' Adam met his wife, producer Naomi Scott (née Sablan), in 1998, and the two married in 2005. They now have two children – son Graham and daughter Frankie – and have co-founded Gettin' Rad Productions together. The actor also reflected on the reception of 'Severance' season 2, in which he stars as Mark S., an employee of the enigmatic company Lumon. In the sci-fi thriller, Mark struggles with his severed personality, attempting to separate his work life from his personal grief over the death of his wife. He said about the new run of the show: 'I feel great. It is nice to be able to talk about it because we've been sitting on all these big crazy secrets for years, but it's also great to see the reaction because you really just never know how people are gonna react until it's out there in the world.' The actor also admitted the team behind the series was initially anxious about how the second season would be received. He added:'We were freaked out that people wouldn't like it or that they just wouldn't think it's as good as season one. 'And so we were scared that people wouldn't watch as much in the numbers that they did season 1, so it's great to see it out in the world and people reacting well to it.'

Tom Hanks Is 'Not Surprised' About His Daughter's Memoir That Alleges Her Mom Samantha Lewes Was Emotionally and Physically Abusive

Tom Hanks is speaking out for the first time following the release of his daughter E.A. Hanks' memoir, The 10: A Memoir of Family and the Open Road, which alleges that her mom was emotionally and physically abusive "I'm not surprised that my daughter had the wherewithal as well as the curiosity to examine this thing," he explained to Access Hollywood recently E.A. Hanks' memoir was released on April 8 and examines her childhoodTom Hanks is sharing how he really feels about his daughter E.A. Hanks' memoir, The 10: A Memoir of Family and the Open Road — and the claims it brings forth that her mom, actress Samantha Lewes, was emotionally and physically abusive. The Forrest Gump star, 68, addressed the abuse allegations E.A.'s book — which was published April 8 — during a conversation with Access Hollywood on Wednesday, May 26, at the red carpet premiere of his new film, The Phoenician Scheme. 'I'm not surprised that my daughter had the wherewithal as well as the curiosity to examine this thing that I think she was incredibly honest about,' Hanks told the outlet. 'We all come from checkered, cracked lives, all of us.' 'She's a knockout, always has been,' he continued. 'If you've had kids, you realize that you see who they are when they're about 6 weeks old.' In the memoir, E.A., whose real name is Elizabeth Anne, details experiencing "emotional violence" and "physical violence" from her mother, whose real name Susan Dillingham, after her parents' divorce. Hanks and Dillingham tied the knot in January 1978, and their divorce was finalized in 1987. Dillingham got primary custody, and the kids had designated weekend and summer visits with Hanks. "I would visit my dad and stepmother (and soon enough my younger half brothers) on the weekends and during summers, but from 5 to 14, years filled with confusion, violence, deprivation, and love," E.A., 43, wrote in an excerpt previously obtained by PEOPLE. She added, "As the years went on, the backyard became so full of dog s--- that you couldn't walk around it, the house stank of smoke. The fridge was bare or full of expired food more often than not, and my mother spent more and more time in her big four-poster bed, poring over the Bible." E.A. said she moved to Los Angeles after her mother's alleged abuse took a turn for the worse. "One night, her emotional violence became physical violence, and in the aftermath I moved to Los Angeles, right smack in the middle of the seventh grade. My custody arrangement basically switched — now I lived in L.A. and visited Sacramento on the weekends and in the summer." She said during her senior year of high school, her mother called to tell her she was dying. Though her mother was never diagnosed, E.A. believes Dillingham was bipolar with episodes of extreme paranoia and delusion. Hanks' latest film, The Phoenician Scheme, centers around a wealthy businessman Zsa-zsa Korda (played by Benicio Del Toro), who "appoints his only daughter, a nun, as sole heir to his estate. As Korda embarks on a new enterprise, they soon become the target of scheming tycoons, foreign terrorists and determined assassins,' per IMDb. Hanks plays Korda's business associate, Leland. The film also stars Mia Threapleton, Michael Cera, Willem Dafoe, Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson and more. It was released in limited theaters on May 30 and will see a wide release June 6. Romeo Beckham and Kim Turnbull Break Up Amid Reported Beckham Family Rift

Romeo Beckham and Kim Turnbull have broken up PEOPLE confirms they split within the last few weeks The split comes amid a reported rift between the Beckham familyRomeo Beckham and Kim Turnbull have broken up. PEOPLE confirms they split within the last few weeks. The couple confirmed their romance on Romeo's Instagram Stories in November 2024, sharing romantic shots, according to the Daily Mail. Later that same month, Romeo, 22, included her on his main Instagram grid, in a post documenting a family trip to New York City. News of their breakup comes amid a rift between the Beckham family, as a source previously told PEOPLE that "there are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola [Peltz] and the family." The pair were noticeably absent from David Beckham's 50th birthday bash in May. "While the pair have been noticeably absent from the Beckhams' recent functions, the relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They're just hurt and disappointed that he's now playing no part in family life," said the source. Another insider, however, told PEOPLE that Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, who tied the knot in 2022, decided to skip the event because of Turnbull, who was once linked to Brooklyn. "Brooklyn didn't want to be in the same room as her, and he told his dad that. But David opted to have Kim there over Nicola," said the insider. A third source added, "Brooklyn and Kim know each other from the past, and his family knows he's not comfortable around her." It is worth noting, however, that Brooklyn's younger brother, Cruz, told a commenter in an Instagram post that "Brooklyn and Kim never dated." A different source also told PEOPLE that the pair never dated. A fifth insider close to the Beckham family also tells PEOPLE, "There were several events where Kim Turnbull wasn't present," including one of the family parties, which Brooklyn and Nicola could have attended. PEOPLE also previously reported on the strained relationship between Brooklyn and his parents that allegedly stems from events at his wedding. Earlier this month, PEOPLE learned that Brooklyn and Nicola hired a lawyer previously used by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid ongoing tensions within the Beckham family.
