Salah wins record third PFA Player of the Year award
Salah, who also won the award in 2018 and 2022, topped a six-player shortlist that included Liverpool teammate Alexis Mac Allister, Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, Chelsea's Cole Palmer, and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice.
The honor marks a historic milestone for the 33-year-old following his instrumental role in Liverpool's Premier League title win last season. Salah finished the 2024-25 campaign as the league's top scorer with 29 goals, along with 18 assists.
Salah's outstanding season also saw him win the Premier League Player of the Season award and be voted the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year.
Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers was named Young Player of the Year, with former England manager Gareth Southgate receiving the 2025 PFA Merit Award.
Arsenal midfielder Mariona Caldentey has been named Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) Women's Player of the Year, while her new teammate Olivia Smith claimed the Young Player of the Year award.
Caldentey, 29, enjoyed a remarkable debut campaign in north London after arriving from Barcelona, scoring 19 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions. That included nine goals and five assists in the Women's Super League, where she was also named Player of the Year by fans in May.
Her influence helped Arsenal finish second in the WSL behind Chelsea and lift the UEFA Women's Champions League title, with a 1-0 victory over former club Barcelona in the final.
The shortlist also featured Arsenal's Alessia Russo, Manchester City duo Mary Fowler and Yui Hasegawa, Chelsea's Erin Cuthbert and Manchester United goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce.
Meanwhile, United States head coach Emma Hayes received the PFA Merit Award for her contributions to the women's game during a trophy-laden spell with Chelsea.

LONDON: England coach John Mitchell has named an unchanged team from their final warm-up game for the Women's Rugby World Cup opener against the United States in Sunderland on Friday. Friendly success for Kazma ahead of the Arab Clubs Handball Championship
IZMIR, Turkey, Aug 21: Kazma's first-handball team edged past Turkish side Eskişehir 40-36 in a friendly match. The game was part of Kazma's current training camp in Izmir, Turkey, where the team is preparing for the new season and the upcoming Arab Clubs Handball Championship. The tournament, hosted by Kuwait Club from September 12–22, will also feature Al-Arabi and Al-Salmiya. Kazma has two more friendlies scheduled before returning to Kuwait on August 28. The Kazma delegation is led by team director Salem Abdul-Salam and includes administrator Hamza Al-Wazzan, Serbian coach Božo, technical analyst Waleed Al-Anzi, fitness coach Abdullah Maseer, goalkeeping coach Omar Al-Mulaih, physiotherapist Nader Qassem, and 16 players. Cheta on Qadsia's radar as Barhama seeks exit
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 21: Qadsia is the only Premier League team yet to finalize its foreign player roster, currently featuring Libyan Mohamed Soula, Algerian Sofiane Bouchar, and Moroccan Mehdi Barhama. This week, Bouchar returned to Algeria following his mother's passing and will rejoin the team after mourning. Meanwhile, Moroccan Ismail Khafi also left after mutually terminating his contract.
