Police: Two kids found on Seremban road weren't abandoned, wandered off while dad slept
The children left their home while their father was asleep and their mother at work, according to initial investigations.
The case came to light after a video showing the pair near Section 2, Garden Avenue, began circulating online.
Concerned residents quickly alerted the police, who responded promptly to the scene.
Officers took the children to Seremban 2 police station for identity verification and protection.
'Following a physical examination by the police of the children concerned, no injuries or any suspicious signs were found,' district police chief ACP Mohamad Hatta Che Din said in a statement.
The authorities later confirmed that the children and their parents are Myanmar citizens.
Police managed to trace the parents and safely reunited them with their children.
Mohamad Hatta also said the children had wandered off without any ill intent.
He then urged parents to secure their homes and avoid leaving small children unattended.

[UPDATED] Rally ends peacefully with no arrests, says IGP
KUALA LUMPUR: No arrests were made during the rally here today, a sign of the protest's peaceful nature and the police's professional handling of the event, said Malaysia's top cop. Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed that the rally, which drew an estimated 18,000 participants, concluded without incident across several key areas in the city. "These areas included Masjid Negara, Kompleks Sogo, Masjid Jamek, Pasar Seni, and Dataran Merdeka. "Despite the large turnout, the entire assembly remained calm and orderly. "No arrests were made throughout the event," he said in a statement today. He said police deployed 3,000 personnel from the Kuala Lumpur police contingent and federal police to monitor security, manage traffic, and facilitate the rally without disrupting public order. "Participants began gathering as early as 10.30am before marching towards Dataran Merdeka by 2pm, where speeches were delivered by several political leaders and non-governmental organisation representatives." Khalid said all enforcement efforts were carried out professionally and ethically, reflecting the police's commitment to a balanced approach in safeguarding both security and democratic freedoms. "Our responsibility is to ensure public safety while allowing space for democratic expression. "Today's peaceful outcome shows that this can be achieved with mutual respect and discipline," he said. He also reaffirmed the police's commitment to upholding the rule of law while ensuring the rights and safety of all Malaysians remain protected.

Football federation duped by fake emails claiming Xavi and Guardiola applied for India coaching job
NEW DELHI, July 26 — The All India Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed today that a job application attributed to former Barcelona manager and Spain midfielder Xavi Hernandez for the India head coaching role was a hoax. The AIFF's national team director told The Times of India on Thursday that Xavi's name was on the list of applicants. The report also quoted an AIFF technical committee member saying the his candidacy was deemed too expensive to pursue. 'The AIFF received an email furnishing the applications from Spanish coaches Pep Guardiola and Xavi Hernandez. The authenticity of their applications could not be confirmed, and it has since emerged that the email applications were not genuine,' the AIFF said in a statement. It had not been previously reported that the AIFF had also received an application purporting to be from Manchester City manager Guardiola. The AIFF Technical Committee said it had reviewed 170 applications for the Indian men's head coach role, narrowing the list to 10 before short-listing three candidates. The AIFF sacked former India manger Igor Stimac in June last year before appointing Spaniard Manolo Marquez, who left the job this month and returned to his role as coach of Indian Super League team FC Goa. — Reuters

Cops probe break-in at home of Dr M's grandchild

(Bernama pic) KUALA LUMPUR : Police are studying CCTV footage to identify those involved in a break-in at the home of former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad's grandchild in Bukit Ledang here on Wednesday, resulting in losses totalling RM1.8 million. Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Usuf Jan Mohamad, who confirmed the investigation, said police were also studying CCTV footage of the victim's residence. Usuf had confirmed yesterday that a home belonging to Mahathir's grandchild had been broken into and jewellery worth RM1.8 million had been stolen. The break-in was discovered by a domestic helper at 3pm after she found that the padlock on the back gate had been cut.
