Kaizer Chiefs news: FOUR players GONE

This winter's transfer window is expected to so telling for Kaizer Chiefs. As early preparations, the Betway Premiership giants have part ways with four players.
While two of the departed players are from the reserve team that plays in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC), they are not just any pair. The dou are the superstars that were destined for promotion.
Additionally, Amakhosi also said goodbye to two Betway Premiership players after failing to deliver on the field of play.
The past season saw the 25-year-old Blom join Amakhosi on loan from St Louis in the USA. The Soweto-born midfielder proved an ill-fit for coach Nasreddine Nabi's game model. Blom only made four starts before Kaier Chiefs announced that he is returning to St Louis.
In the space of 48 hours, Amakhosi announced the departure of Blom's development teammate Sabelo Radebe (25). Also born and raised in Soweto, Radebe was loaned to Richards Bay FC but only managed two appearances.

THEORY: Real reason why Orlando Pirates didn't win the league

Orlando Pirates came short in their push for the Betway Premiership title. There were a few factors, but one isn't talked about enough. When Thabiso Sesane was cut down with a serious injury, nobody knew how profound an effect that event would have on Pirates' title charge. On paper, central defence is arguably the team's deepest resource with Tapelo Xoki, Olisa Ndah and Nkosinathi Sibisi as options. However, Ndah has battled injuries and both Xoki and Sibisi have suffered dips in form. The late-season emergence of an outstandingly gifted teenager, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, has been a huge boost, but none of the club's existing centre-halves have Sesane's unique skill set. The 25-year-old was quietly and effectively becoming the marshal of Pirates' back four. It's hoped that he'll be fit in time for the early stages of the 2025-2026 campaign. Image: @orlandopiratesfc/X One X user said: 'Do not touch King Hotto,' presumably suggesting that the club would be foolish to release the versatile 34-year-old Deon Hotto. The Namibian is still a dependable player and popular among fans and teammates, and managers, comfortable in several positions and tactical systems. Since joining from Wits in 2020, club stalwart Hotto has notched up over 200 appearances, collecting six trophies. To say he's an underrated performer is a massive understatement. Kaizer Chiefs: More support for Nasreddine Nabi

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Daniel Matsau has given coach Nasreddine Nabi another reason to smile and look ahead to next season. According to Matsau, the Tunisian tactician and the players deeply disappointed Kaizer Chiefs fans by missing out on the MTN8. Still, continuity with the same technical team next season is the way forward. Former Kaizer Chiefs players such as Itumeleng Khune and Katlego Mphela have shared the same views as Matsau in previous weeks. While Amakhosi lifted a trophy for the first time in 10 years with the Nedbank Cup, which included wins over Stellenbosch FC, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, the league results were dire. Image: SuperSport Website Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Nabi and Ntwari Amakhosi finished in ninth place after only eight wins in 28 matches. 'Kaizer Chiefs are in a difficult situation at the moment, but let's hope they can bring in good players next season to enhance the team,' Matsau told KickOff . 'Not qualifying for the top eight is disappointing for those of us who love the club. We understand it's challenging for the club to acquire the players the coach needs, but we hope that will change next season. This season, some of the players lacked hunger; only a few demonstrated their desire when our best players were sidelined due to injuries. 'Some supporters often respond harshly to us former players, when we discuss Kaizer Chiefs, thinking we are being too critical. However, we must be realistic: if a team is not performing well, it is not performing well. Conversely, if a team is doing well, they are doing well. 'We were all hopeful for qualification, but the reality is that they faced tremendous challenges, which is why we find ourselves in this situation. 'It was disappointing to see Kaizer Chiefs not qualify for the top eight. I hope the management grants the coach more time, although I know it won't be easy to secure all the players he desires. 'Kaizer Chiefs have struggled to attract the players they want for too many years now. It's better for a coach to fail with the players he personally recommended than to continue with an unsettled lineup. He has been trying to find a stable starting eleven by giving every player on the roster a chance,' Matsau concluded. Pyramids crowned kings of Africa in CAF Champions League showdown After Sinking Mamelodi Sundowns

Sundowns lost 2–1 in the second leg at 30 June Stadium on Sunday night, courtesy of goals from Fiston Mayele and Ahmed Samy, having drawn 1–1 in the first leg at home, Loftus Versfeld. The Brazilians were their own worst enemies in Cairo, conceding both goals through avoidable errors in each half. Mayele capitalised on a poor clearance by Grant Kekana in the first half, pouncing inside the box to unleash a low-driven strike past the goalkeeper. The DRC-born striker made no mistake with the opportunity. Samy ensured the match was all but sealed early in the second half when Mohamed Chibi delivered a delightful set-piece behind the defensive wall, which Samy headed home with precision. Iqraam Rayners pulled one back with 15 minutes to go, rifling home a deflected loose ball to offer a glimmer of hope for the visitors. In the end, it was a perfect night for the Pharaohs, who were crowned champions of the continent for the first time in their history. Sundowns will be hugely disappointed, having come within one match of returning to the summit of African football for the first time since 2016. A continental crown would have been a fitting reward for Sundowns, who have dominated domestic football over the past eight years, winning eight successive Premiership titles. They have also made significant strides on the continental stage and will represent Africa at the FIFA Club World Cup later this month.
