Denver Broncos: 4 in-house free agents are still unsigned
Just four of the Denver Broncos' in-house free agents remain unsigned as we approach the start of the NFL's new league year.
The Broncos have re-signed five of their unrestricted free agents so far and five other Denver players have agreed to sign with other clubs. That leaves four in-house players still available as of the time of publication.
The list is headlined by wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey, who was a reliable blocker on offense but not a huge receiving threat last fall. Up next is fullback Michael Burton, who previously played under Sean Payton with the New Orleans Saints and has served as Denver's FB for the last two seasons.
Also unsigned are backup swing offensive tackle/guard Quinn Bailey -- who missed last season with a serious ankle injury -- and linebacker Zach Cunningham, who seems unlikely to be re-signed after struggling to make an impact in 2024.

Humphrey and Burton seem like the most likely candidates to get deals next. Bailey's status might be impacted by his health.

Broncos' updated 90-man offseason roster following 2 moves

Broncos' updated 90-man offseason roster following 2 moves The Denver Broncos made two roster moves this week, swapping one defensive back for another. The Broncos added cornerback Mario Goodrich, who spent this spring playing for the UFL's Birmingham Stallions. The 25-year-old cornerback already has NFL experience following stints with the Philadelphia Eagles (2022-2023) and New York Giants (2024). To make room for Goodrich on the 90-man* offseason roster, Denver waived safety Tanner McCalister. The 25-year-old defensive back appeared in three games last season, recording one tackle. *Note that Denver has an extra 91st spot on the roster because Australian-born punter Jeremy Crawshaw gets an offseason roster exemption as part of the NFL's international player pathway program. With that caveat in mind, here's a look at the team's roster going into the summer. Broncos offseason roster Denver will trim the roster down to 53 players by Aug. 26, then they will build a 16- or 17-player practice squad. Last year, the team's initial practice squad included Burton, Tillman, Bailey and Badie. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.

Broncos' updated cornerback depth chart with Mario Goodrich

Broncos' updated cornerback depth chart with Mario Goodrich The Denver Broncos' crowded secondary added another member this week. The Broncos signed United Football League cornerback Mario Goodrich on Wednesday, adding an 11th cornerback to their 90-man offseason roster (a safety was waived to make room). It's still easy to predict the top of Denver's cornerback depth chart, but the backup roles are getting tough to project. Pat Surtain, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, will continue to start on the outside as the team's CB1. Riley Moss is still the early favorite to play across from PS2, but it remains to be seen if rookie Jahdae Barron will play primarily in the slot or outside. If Barron ends up outside, Moss could move to the slot. Ja'Quan McMillian, the team's previous slot cornerback, now becomes a very valuable depth/rotational player. Kris Abrams-Draine proved last season that he is a capable reserve option as well. Beyond those top five is a toss-up. Damarri Mathis is the most experienced, but the Broncos could save $3.4 million if he's cut this summer. Goodrich will also be competing with Quinton Newsome and Reese Taylor, plus undrafted rookies Jaden Robinson and Joshua Pickett. 5 ex-Broncos playing in UFL championship game

Get ready for UFL signings across the NFL. The United Football League will wrap up the 2025 spring season with a championship game between the DC Defenders and Michigan Panthers in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday evening (8 p.m. ET on ABC). Following that game, NFL teams will be permitted to sign players from the UFL ahead of training camps this summer. Advertisement Michigan's roster includes former Denver Broncos running back Nate McCrary. DC, meanwhile, has four former Broncos players on their squad: pass rusher Andre Mintze, cornerback Michael Ojemudia, defensive lineman Niles Scott and wide receiver Seth Williams. Denver has signed spring league players in each of the last three years: long snapper Mitchell Fraboni (2022, USFL), quarterback Ben DiNucci (2023, XFL) and pass rusher Dondrea Tillman (2024, UFL). We'll see if any UFL players are added to the squad this summer after the season wraps up over the weekend. Related: These 25 celebrities are Broncos fans.
