Number 10 was decorated for the occasion, with St George's flags draped over windows and bunting along the railings. But Sir Keir was not in attendance due to meeting with US President Donald Trump in Scotland. The President welcomed the PM and his wife Victoria to his golf course at Turnberry this afternoon for wide-ranging talks. However, Starmer did manage a phone call to the Lionesses while they were at the Downing Street garden to celebrate their Euros victory. A post shared on Sir Keir's social media showed the moment Sarina Wiegman and some of the Lionesses received a video call from the PM. He said: "Fantastic to see you all and welcome to Downing Street. I just wanted to say a huge congratulations to you and the whole team." The video-call lasted about five minutes and Wiegman could be heard saying "hello Keir, nice to see you", adding "it's lovely here". She then thanked him for calling and for supporting the team throughout the tournament. But trolls were quick to hit out against Sir Keir's phone call with some branding it "awkward" for the heroic Lionesses. Another said on X, formerly Twitter: "Why does Keir have that uncanny valley AI feel in this video? "It just gives off such weird vibes man." Could Jadon Sancho join Borussia Dortmund for a THIRD time? German side 'monitoring' Man United outcast after he was banished to 'Bomb Squad'
Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho ahead of a possible THIRD separate swoop for the forward, according to reports. Sancho has been banished to the 'Bomb Squad' at Old Trafford and is not in Ruben Amorim 's plans after Chelsea paid a £5million penalty to send him back to United. The 25-year-old had moved to the Blues on loan last summer after his relationship with Erik ten Hag broke down, but a permanent deal - and pay cut - did not materialise. As a result, United are again actively working to offload him. However, Sky Germany have claimed that Sancho is 'back on the agenda' at Dortmund and officials at the Bundesliga giants are monitoring his situation. United, it is said, will be happy to accept a bid between £16m-£18m, substantially lower than the £73m they splashed out to sign him from Dortmund in July 2021. His first spell at the club cemented his status as one of the world's best up-and-coming talents and he made an instant impact after returning to spend the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan, leading them to the Champions League final. Across both stints at Dortmund, Sancho made 158 appearances, scoring 53 goals. The winger has also been linked with Juventus and earlier this month, it was reported that his agent jetted out to Turin in a bid to break a £5m deadlock with United. Sancho joined fellow wantaways Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia in missing the Red Devils' pre-season tour in the US - while Marcus Rashford secured a dream move to Barcelona - but Amorim admitted he could look to re-integrate them. United want to offload all four players to fund new signings. 'We are just allowing these players to have time to think and to decide,' Amorim said. 'If we reach a point where they have to join the team, they will join because they are our players. I know Jason, Omar and the club have a number for these players. 'If they don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that. I understand the clubs are waiting for the last minute, but they can have a surprise. 'I'm ready to receive the players. They have more competition. If you want to play in the World Cup next year you need to play, so I'm really happy with that because I have more options. If they have to fight each other to play, for me it's perfect.' Asked about the decision to leave four players behind, Amorim said that it was important to have a 'healthy' squad who appreciate what it means to be at United. 'If you see the best teams in the world, you feel the bond between all the players. I think that is really important,' the head coach added. 'Then I think we need to remind ourselves how special it is to be at Manchester United. It's the best club in the world. 'It should be for everyone that is on the pitch with our club. 'I really like that feeling. I really like to be in the group that is healthy. We are going to suffer and have problems. That feeling of bonding from everybody – from the staff, from the players, with the technical staff – is really important. 'I think it can help us to win some games that we are not performing so well, but something happened because the spirit is positive.'

The Ibrox club are favourites to secure the 17-year-old winger for the season, beating competition from English Championship clubs. Moore is eager to move to Glasgow, and the deal is expected to be finalised soon, although some details remain. While the prospect of Moore's arrival has generated excitement, Boyd has cautioned fans to manage their expectations. The former Rangers striker believes that a loan move to either side of the Old Firm carries much higher pressure than a typical loan stint in England's lower leagues. He said: "Moore's a young boy who'll be looking for an opportunity to kick on, but there's a little bit of a risk attached to a first loan move. "He's shown in any opportunities he's had at Tottenham that he has a chance. "But it can be difficult because a lot of Premier League players in England who go out on loan go to a level where they've got time to adapt, whether it's the Championship or other teams who don't have to play under the same pressure as [[Rangers]] and Celtic have." Boyd also highlighted the need for clarity regarding [[Rangers]]' striking options, with Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane potentially leaving the club amid interest from European teams. He said: "The Cyriel Dessers and Hamza Igamane situation needs to be addressed one way or another. "Everybody needs clarity on that pretty quickly. "The league starts on Saturday, and your two most important players on the pitch are your goalkeeper and your number nine. "Rangers are no further forward as to who their number nine is - the top goalscorer from last season is still being linked with moves away, he's not played a lot of football, and he's still got a level of fitness to get to. "For me, there's still no guarantee who's going to be that number nine for Rangers. "If Mikey Moore is to come in, it's a big ask for him to come in and be Rangers' number nine and lead the attack." Boyd's comments come after Russell Martin's first competitive game as [[Rangers]] manager resulted in a 2-0 victory over Panathinaikos in Champions League qualifying. However, Boyd believes there is still much work to be done to get the team where Martin wants them, particularly given the expansive style of play he is trying to instil. He said: "If you go on last week's performance against Panathinaikos, there's still a bit of work to be done for Rangers. "With Russell Martin coming in and implementing a new style, it's not going to be fixed overnight and there's no doubt there were going to be some teething problems and that's going to be the case for a number of weeks. "When you're coming in and you want to implement the style of play that he wants, you're going to make mistakes. "There's going to be scary moments within the games." Martin has previously stated that his squad will look different by the end of the transfer window, suggesting there is still much movement to come, including potential departures.
