Sussex: Joe Wilkinson named as Brighton Half Marathon starter
Comedian and actor Joe Wilkinson has been announced as the official race starter for the upcoming Brighton Half Marathon.Thousands of people will flock to Brighton on 2 March to take part in the race, which raises more than £1m for Sussex charities each year."I'm really looking forward to starting this year's Brighton Half Marathon and then being beaten by about 99% of those runners," said Wilkinson.Other famous faces set to take part include Chris Oliver, from Channel 4's SAS Who Dares Wins, broadcaster and presenter Bobby Seagull and actor Craig Parkinson.
The stars are all running for the race's main partner, HIV charity The Sussex Beacon, in support of its Formula Milk Programme.The programme provides free formula milk for babies of 20 mothers living with HIV."The Sussex Beacon is a wonderful charity and it's an honour to support them in any way I can," Wilkinson said.This year's event will be held on Hove Lawns for the first time. The youth races take place on 1 March and the half marathon, wheelchair race and Sussex Beacon Charity Relay the following day.

TOWIE star Amy Childs' friends are worried about her relationship after she postponed her wedding to fiancé Billy Delbosq for the second time Amy Childs has left friends and fans worried after calling off her wedding to fiancé Billy Delbosq for the second time, sparking rumours of relationship troubles among those who are close to her. The former beautician, who shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex nearly 15 years ago, became a household name thanks to her larger-than-life personality — and introducing the public to the concept of 'vajazzling'. After a romantic past full of ups and downs, Amy, 34, seemed to have finally found lasting love with Billy, a fellow reality star who once appeared on Channel 4 's First Dates. The couple got engaged in 2023 after welcoming twins Billy River and Amelia Mae. But last month she postponed their wedding again, after already delaying it last year over doubts about whether Billy was truly ready to tie the knot. This latest cancellation has caused speculation that not all is well in their relationship. Friends close to the couple have voiced their fears, with one source telling the Daily Mail: "Billy has always been a player. He's one of the biggest players in Essex…now there are fears that all is not well, that something could have happened between them." Fuel was added to the fire when Amy was spotted in Brentwood looking visibly thinner and not wearing her engagement ring. However, another source close to the couple insisted the pair are still going strong, and suggested she only removed the ring to work out. However, Amy and Billy were also seen at Stansted Airport on Thursday while en route to Spain for TOWIE filming, looking "preoccupied and unsmiling". Behind the scenes, Amy has been privately coping with a family crisis. She recently told The Mirror that her mum Julie, who has also made appearances on TOWIE, suffered from a heart attack in April and had to be rushed to hospital for emergency surgery. She added: "It has been intensely stressful. None of us was expecting Mum to have a heart attack – it turned our world upside down. "It was so frightening. She had a stent put in and was in hospital for six days. She's now home but she's being monitored daily and is on a lot of medication. It's so tough for her – she sometimes struggles to walk upstairs." Amy and Billy made the difficult decision to postpone their September wedding at Cliveden House in Berkshire. The TOWIE star explained: "It's upsetting, but I know we've made the right decision. Right now, we're focused on looking after Mum." In response to the online abuse over her weight loss, Amy hit back, saying: "People don't know what is going on behind closed doors…To be honest I do feel better when I'm a bit heavier than I am at the moment. There's so much going on – it's the result of pure stress." Despite facing these heart breaking family challenges, Amy is still hopeful that her and Billy will be able to get married abroad next year, and have planned for their kids to play a special role in the wedding. She concluded: "We just want it to be amazing, not rushed."

Written by Uzo Oleh, Beth stars Nicholas Pinnock and Abbey Lee as Joe and Molly, an interracial couple longing for a child as they struggle with IVF and ponder adoption ('I want our kid to look like both of us'). Eventually, an apparent miracle happens and Imogen is born. But soon, the circumstances around her conception – and Abbey's relationship with her doctor – become mysterious. Pinnock and Lee do a sensitive job of rendering the retreating intimacies of their collapsing relationship. Channel 4, from Monday 9 June This espionage comedy drama has its cake and eats it, with daft genre tropes and knowing humour. The key to its success is Arnold Schwarzenegger as agent Luke Brunner, happily poking fun at his own legend. When we rejoin Luke's team, they're in witness protection – and a shocking early death makes the threats they face clear. But they're going up the wall, and Luke's agent daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) is cohabiting with both an ex and her new squeeze. Fortunately, they soon have a new adversary to distract them in the shape of terrifying nihilist Dante. Plus, Carrie-Anne Moss later joins as Luke's old flame. Netflix, from Thursday 12 June In June 1994, horror was visited upon the remote tranquility of Orkney when Bangladeshi waiter Shamsuddin Mahmood was shot dead by a masked man while serving a table in the island's only curry house. This gloomy but gripping documentary explores what followed: a manhunt that would last for a remarkable 14 years (and the extraordinary events that unfolded at the trial of suspect Michael Ross); multiple issues surrounding the police's handling of the murder; racism; and the lingering impact of trauma on an isolated community. Prime Video, from Sunday 8 June Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast has become massive, second only to Joe Rogan's manosphere monster but attracting a very different audience. It's a candid exploration of sex and relationships with a strong emphasis on female empowerment. This two-part documentary expands Cooper's empire by offering a glimpse of the woman behind the mic. Like the podcast, it's rarely subtle and can feel a little stage-managed. But Cooper is a shrewd operator and this is another smartly placed building block in a growing media brand. Disney+, from Tuesday 10 June This documentary exploring the catastrophe that unfolded at Travis Scott's 2021 concert in Houston is part of the same strand as Netflix's Woodstock 99 series and covers similar ground in its depiction of systemic failure leading to tragedy. One key difference is that concertgoers now have mobile phones – and the frequently horrifying footage takes viewers right into the heart of the crush that claimed 10 lives. The story of the aftermath is bleak, too: as survivors tried to deal with the shock while coaxing some accountability from the people who failed them. Netflix, from Tuesday 10 June 'There was no way of knowing when Titan was going to fail,' says one maritime expert in this documentary, 'but it was a mathematical certainty that it would.' What drove OceanGate CEO Stockton Rush to gamble with the lives of four people (not to mention his own) in 2023?
