ONE Championship: Naito demands Takeru bout – ‘I'm underrated, he's overrated'
While no fights have been officially confirmed, Naito is campaigning hard for what would be the biggest opportunity of his career – a homecoming clash with compatriot Takeru Segawa.
'I want to fight at ONE 173,' Naito told the Post. 'And it would be great if I could compete with Takeru in Japan.
'I haven't fought in Japan for a long time, but I want to show my progress in my home country.'
Naito, 29, is coming off a statement win over previously unbeaten Johan Estupinan at ONE Fight Night 32 in Bangkok. He floored the Colombian with a sharp counter left in round two and earned a majority decision after three rounds of composed, counter-heavy Muay Thai.

'I had been on a two-match losing streak,' he said. 'But I was able to beat an undefeated opponent and show new possibilities for myself.'

Son Heung-min makes tearful farewell to Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul
Son Heung-min made what appeared to be his final appearance for Tottenham Hotspur in Seoul on Sunday evening, bidding a tearful farewell during his club's pre-season friendly match against Newcastle United. There were emotional scenes when the South Korean forward, captain of both his club and country, was replaced after 64 minutes of the English Premier League clubs' 1-1 draw at Seoul World Cup Stadium. The 33-year-old, who last Thursday played in Spurs' 1-0 victory over Arsenal in Hong Kong, had announced before the match that he planned to leave after a decade with the North London club. He hugged players from both teams, who then formed a guard of honour for Son to leave the pitch, fighting back tears, to a standing ovation from the 64,773 fans. ONE Championship: Regian Eersel KOs George Jarvis to retain lightweight Muay Thai title
Regian Eersel added another emphatic chapter to his reign as ONE's lightweight Muay Thai king, dispatching George Jarvis with a first-round knockout in the main event of ONE Fight Night 34 on Friday. The Suriname-born Dutchman needed just 84 seconds to finish off the British challenger at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, retaining his title and taking home a US$50,000 performance bonus. Eersel had spoken beforehand about a strategy to drag Jarvis into deep waters and score a late finish, but once the opening bell rang, he wasted no time asserting his authority. The 32-year-old, nicknamed 'The Immortal', pushed Jarvis onto the back foot from the outset, landing clean combinations before a sharp right hand dropped the former WBC Muay Thai world champion. Jarvis beat the count, but another right hand moments later sealed the result. Regian Eersel improved his record to 25 wins from his past 26 bouts. His only loss during that stretch came against Alexis Nicolas in 2024, a blemish he avenged twice to close out their trilogy.
