ONE Championship: Regian Eersel KOs George Jarvis to retain lightweight Muay Thai title

Regian Eersel added another emphatic chapter to his reign as ONE's lightweight Muay Thai king, dispatching George Jarvis with a first-round knockout in the main event of ONE Fight Night 34 on Friday.
The Suriname-born Dutchman needed just 84 seconds to finish off the British challenger at Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, retaining his title and taking home a US$50,000 performance bonus.
Eersel had spoken beforehand about a strategy to drag Jarvis into deep waters and score a late finish, but once the opening bell rang, he wasted no time asserting his authority.
The 32-year-old, nicknamed 'The Immortal', pushed Jarvis onto the back foot from the outset, landing clean combinations before a sharp right hand dropped the former WBC Muay Thai world champion.
Jarvis beat the count, but another right hand moments later sealed the result.

With the victory, Eersel made the third successful defence of his Muay Thai crown and improved his record to 25 wins from his past 26 bouts. His only loss during that stretch came against Alexis Nicolas in 2024, a blemish he avenged twice to close out their trilogy.

Hong Kong cycling medal hope Ceci Lee shows National Games promise in Australia

Ceci Lee Sze-wing has delivered a timely reminder of her potential to become Hong Kong's National Games poster girl, as the city began its 100-day countdown to co-hosting the showpiece. The cyclist claimed a notable victory in a criterium race on Saturday in Brisbane, where the Hong Kong team are holding a month-long training camp. And on Sunday, Lee, 24, was second behind teammate Chloe Leung Wing-yee in a nip-and-tuck road race. Although Lee is desperately keen to take omnium gold in her hometown in November, she has been busily refining her road skills under endurance coach Ben Kersten. Not that she lacks pedigree for it: in 2021, Lee stunned a high-class field to become Hong Kong's first National Games road race champion at the age of 20. 'I'm learning more about how to find a good position for the final sprint, but also how my teammates can help me do that,' Lee said. 'The best teams form a good chain for a lead-out, and we're working on it a lot for the National Games. The course will be nearly all flat, so it's very likely to be a bunch sprint at the end.' ONE Championship: Filipino striker Jackie Buntan eyes history

Jackie Buntan already made history once in 2024 – now she wants more. The Filipino-American striking ace became the first-ever ONE women's strawweight kickboxing world champion in November, defeating Anissa Meksen – a legend she once watched while still in high school – in the main event of ONE Fight Night 169. On September 5, she returns to Bangkok to headline ONE Fight Night 35 at Lumpinee Stadium, where she faces Austria's Stella Hemetsberger for the vacant strawweight Muay Thai title. Victory would make Buntan just the third woman in ONE Championship history, after Stamp Fairtex and Janet Todd, who trained alongside Buntan for years, to claim world titles in two striking disciplines. 'It's a rare chance to go for two-sport world gold,' Buntan told the Post. 'I'm extremely excited about it – that's the only way to describe how I feel. But I'm not settled. I want more.' Play Buntan, 26, has long been considered one of the top female strikers on the planet, but her breakthrough moment came with a composed performance and historic win against Meksen.
