Sanders, 57, is recovering at his estate in Texas with assistance from sons Deion Sanders Jr. and Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie safety Shilo Sanders. Coach Prime's current medical complication is unknown. He plans to discuss it when he returns to Boulder.
However, Deion Sanders' medical history is quite extensive since he sustained blood clots in his legs in 2021. That led to the amputation of his left big toe and a second toe on the same foot. Coach Prime also underwent a procedure in 2023 to address the blood clots, which resulted in the sides of his left calf being removed.
Furthermore, Sanders lost 14 pounds recently and claimed 'what I'm dealing with is on a whole 'nother level' during an interview with former NFL cornerback Asante Samuel on his 'Say What Needs to be Said' podcast.

As Coach Prime continues to battle this issue, close friends and former players paid him a visit, including former Buffaloes and now Jacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver and cornerback Travis Hunter. Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin also visited Sanders on June 11.

After spending time with his closest friends and supporters, Sanders sent out an update on his Instagram story. 'Walking it out,' he wrote on Wednesday, symbolizing his desire to be active and recover from his current health struggles.
There has been no word on when Sanders will return to Colorado. The Buffaloes' regular season starts Aug. 29 against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Folsom Field.

49ers McCaffrey Update Boosts Confidence for Impactful Return
49ers McCaffrey Update Boosts Confidence for Impactful Return originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Just one year after enjoying the most memorable season of his career, Christian McCaffrey suffered perhaps his most forgetful. Advertisement The San Francisco 49ers star running back appeared in just four games in the middle of the 2024 season due to Achilles and knee injuries. In 2023, he powered the Niners' to a conference championship as the Offensive Player of the Year with over 2,000 yards from scrimmage. After a long offseason of recovery, many around the 49ers organization believe "CMC" is back to full strength, threatening a return to team contention after last year's 6-11 season with him on the sideline for most of it. 49ers beat writer Matt Barrows of The Athletic has chimed in with the latest update, it being another quote that is sweet music to the ears of Niners Nation. "Christian McCaffrey is healthy again," Barrows reported in his notebook of takeaways from spring workouts. "Following a 2024 season marred by Achilles and knee issues, McCaffrey said his goal this spring was to be available for all of the 49ers' OTA and minicamp sessions." Advertisement Barrows added: "And while he didn't look quite like he did in the spring of 2023 ... he didn't have to sit out any sessions. That was a boost of confidence for the running back, who said he'll be back to training as usual during the summer break, and to a 49ers offense that missed McCaffrey last season, especially in the red zone." To the man himself, this isn't a surprise. He has always stated his mission of being a full participant in minicamp and the upcoming training camp. McCaffrey - an unfortunately frequent visitor of the rehabilitation department throughout his career - acknowledged that he's learned how to recovery and had to "start from scratch" in order to return to optimal health. With an offense that surrounds him with multiple weapons, McCaffrey may not need to return to an MVP-caliber level, but of course, Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers will take the best that he has to offer. Advertisement That seems not just possible, but probable, thanks to another optimistic report. 49ers Aiyuk Laughs At Past Trade Rumors Amid ACL Injury
49ers Aiyuk Laughs At Past Trade Rumors Amid ACL Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Last season during his extensive contract holdout, San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk was the subject of endless trade chatter - however likely or unlikely those actions were actually being put in motion internally. Advertisement The 49ers eventually signed their star pass-catcher to a four-year $120 million contract to hopefully put all parties at ease - those being Aiyuk, the organization, and the fans. Since Aiyuk's unfortunate ACL injury in Week 7 of the 2024 season, however, waves of trade speculation and rumored disputes between the player and team have resurfaced. Now Aiyuk is putting that noise on blast. Or ... at least a portion of the noise. On his personal YouTube channel, Aiyuk responded to comments about the trade rumors that spawned during the season right after his surgery: "They was talking bout trading me while I was off percocets /muscle relaxers and peeing in a cup by my bed! Couldn't walk for 10 weeks ain't nobody trading for me 🤣💀" Advertisement Not only was Aiyuk tied to a long-term (and high-dollar) contract, but he was injured for the rest of the season. It's an easy timeline to follow that explains why he was not traded. That thought process holds today as Aiyuk is still inactive from offseason workouts, with his expected return to the field well beyond the start of the season. While he was poking some humor about no team pursuing him in a trade, this could be another way of him telling fans to knock off the recent speculation, as well. Aiyuk being able to laugh at his situation should be taken as a sign of positivity to not only quieting trade talks, but to giving an optimistic report of his recovery and mental state. Advertisement When healthy, Aiyuk is a fantastic receiver who is plenty capable of being an elite offense's No. 1 option. When he isn't, of course, trade-hungry sharks will subside. If Aiyuk can return near the midway point of the 2025 season, barring health across the rest of the roster, San Francisco will be poised to return to championship contention like they did in 2023. Last season's unfortunate injury fate, to Aiyuk and others, lessened their odds of making the playoffs - let alone another Super Bowl. Any possibility of a trade at that point must be determined by numerous factors. First, how he performs back on the field. The indication is that Aiyuk and his contract will stay in the Bay Area. He is the last major piece working back to full health on this explosive Niners offense that, once he returns, is expected to wreak havoc. Advertisement He is well past the peeing-in-a-cup phase of his rehab ... And if you ask him, he's hoping we are done with the trade rumors, too. Ace Bailey Avoids 76ers Question Before NBA Draft
Ace Bailey Avoids 76ers Question Before NBA Draft originally appeared on Athlon Sports. A new wave of elite basketball talent is about to find its NBA homes as the 2025 NBA Draft tips off Wednesday night. One of the more intriguing names entering the draft is Ace Bailey, whose pre-draft decisions have sparked debate across the league. Advertisement Bailey notably did not work out with the Philadelphia 76ers, who currently hold the third overall pick. Despite skipping that workout, many analysts still project him to land in Philadelphia. Others believe the 76ers may instead opt for V.J. Edgecombe, who did meet with the team. In a recent pre-draft interview, Adam Zagoria, shared when Bailey was asked directly about the 76ers situation. His response was vague. 'I'm just glad to be in this position. I'm taking it day by day...I'm focused on basketball.' According to CBS Sports, 76ers star Paul George wasn't thrilled with Bailey's approach. On his "Podcast P," George criticized the young prospect for skipping team workouts entirely. Advertisement 'I mean, I think if I'm Ace Bailey, I can't get mad if my stock drops,' George said. 'He's canceled all workouts. He hasn't worked out for any team. I think they made a big deal because we were scheduled to work him out, and he canceled the day of. But you're not in a position to be making those demands. Make it to the league first. It's for sure the people around him. I don't know who's representing him, but I don't think they're going about it the right way.' Rutgers Scarlet Knights guard Ace Bailey (4) Mandatory Credit: Robert Goddin-Imagn Images Bailey, a 6-foot-10 guard/forward from Rutgers, spent one season with the Scarlet Knights. He averaged 17.6 points and 7.2 rebounds over 30 games. Despite a roster that also included fellow top prospect Dylan Harper, Rutgers missed the NCAA Tournament. Before college, Bailey won Mr. Georgia Basketball in 2024 and played in elite showcases like the McDonald's All-American Game, Nike Hoop Summit and the Jordan Brand Classic. Advertisement Most projections have Cooper Flagg and Dylan Harper as the likely top two picks. After that, things get less predictable. Edgecombe remains a strong candidate for the 76ers, and Duke's Kon Knueppel also surged up draft boards in recent weeks. The speculation around Bailey will finally end Wednesday night when his NBA future is officially decided.
