Gallaghers' first image together in years to be more epic after rehearsal move

Daily Mirror24-05-2025

With the Oasis reunion looming, Noel and Liam Gallagher - once-warring brothers - are preparing their music, from albums like Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory?
Noel and Liam Gallagher's first official public photograph taken together since Oasis split is expected to be more epic after the brothers decided not to rehearse together, it is said.
Rehearsals for the much-anticipated reunion began on Tuesday, the Mirror revealed, but frontman Liam, 52, was not present, it is understood. He isn't expected to join 57-year-old sibling Noel, Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell until next month "for a rehearsal or two" before the tour starts in Cardiff.

It means it is likely the first official picture of the once-warring brothers in almost 16 years will be taken as they emerge at the Principality Stadium - a poignant moment after such colourful history. It is reported by The Sun the brothers are determined for this to unravel, and so are keen not to be seen together yet. A source told the publication: "Noel and Liam want to control that. There's no chance you'll see them together before that day if they can help it."

It's understood the last "live" photographs of the Gallaghers in the official Oasis capacity were taken at Oasis' final gig - at V Festival in Weston Park, Staffordshire on August 22, 2009.
Noel and the rest of the band - minus Liam - were reportedly rehearsing for hours a top-secret studio in London at least two days this week. Liam is said to be in his bolthole in the south of France.
The band source told The Sun: "Noel and Liam are rehearsing separately for now and won't be going into a studio together until next month... They're all total masters of their craft, so it's more about nailing down the finer details and making sure they're all in sync.
"Once Noel has finished up, Liam will be coming in to rehearse with the band. The brothers will then get together — it'll be the whole of Oasis then — for a rehearsal or two, and then they'll be ready to go."
Following the brief final rehearsals, the band will kick off their huge tour on July 4 at the Principality Stadium, a massive moment in the music industry, likely to be documented in phorographs worldwide.
It emerged earlier month Bell, the 54-year-old bassist, will reunite with the brothers for the tour. Since Oasis' split in 2009, Bell has been impressing fans with his own band, Ride, and so it was unclear whether the musician would be part of the Gallagher's sell-out return.
Bell, who joined Oasis in 2000 to replace Paul McGuigan, said: "I'm in and I'm really looking forward to it. We'll see each other on tour. Or rather, you'll see me – I'll hardly be able to see you in the audience."

She died last year at the age of 88, leaving behind three children, who will now inherit her fortune. ‌ In a statement at the time of her death, their son wrote at the time: "Lady Helen Wogan - 1936-2024. Our beautiful Mum left us last night after a fantastic life. From a young Irish rose to Lady Wogan , she was the epitome of style and grace. ‌ "A Mother, Grandmother and Wife, with love and kindness at her core. A strength and a belief that saw her through many of life's trials. A sense of humour and a turn of phrase that would have you in fits of laughter. "A proper lady in every sense of the word. Her and Dad are hopefully sharing a vodka martini and hoping we don't make too much of fuss. We love you Mum, now and forever." Lady Helen left a huge £4,948,334 in her will, with the total being reduced by £31,000 to £4,917,989 following the removal of costs and fees, documents signed off by the High Court reveal. Love Island star's SHOCK EXIT as they leave the villa ahead of upcoming series after citing 'personal reasons'

Love Island star Kyle Ashman has left the show ahead of the launch episode next Monday. ITV have confirmed the 23-year-old from Stafford has chosen not to enter the villa and has decided to leave the show for personal reasons. It comes amid The Sun's reports that Kyle was involved in an machete attack in February when masked thugs stormed a wake and hacked at a dad with a blade. Kyle was one of two arrested by police but he was released with no further action and he has now confirmed he had no involvement in the incident, but has chosen to leave the ITV show regardless. Kyle told MailOnline: 'I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' Meanwhile ITV added: 'For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned.' The Love Island line up was announced on Tuesday so Kyle's departure will have plunged the show into chaos ahead of Monday's launch episode. The Sun have revealed they alerted bosses on Kyle being questioned in the attack but ITV said they were unaware of the incident and he was not flagged during the contestant checks. The incident on February 28 saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment and kept it for around two weeks. Another mourner was reportedly glassed, one hit with a metal pole, and two people were run over by a car during the 15 minute attack at the The White Eagle Club in Stafford. Sources said the victim was attacked by three balaclava-clad thugs over an alleged £3,000 debt. He was injured by a blade that left him with a deep gash and has suffered tendon damage and is now unable to drive. Police confirmed yesterday that after the matter had been investigated Kyle and another individual were released with no further action only last month. The incident on February 28 at The White Eagle Club in Stafford saw the victim, 38, nearly lose his arm after he was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment A show source told the publication: 'ITV were entirely unaware of Kyle's past and, as he was not charged, it was not flagged as part of Love Island's stringent DBS checks. 'It's only right he can now return home to the UK to share his side of the story and therefore bosses took the decision that it was best for him not to enter the villa.' Staffordshire Police said on Monday: 'A 22-year-old man, from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of wounding and affray. Another man, also 22 and from Stafford, was arrested on suspicion of affray. 'Both were questioned in custody and bailed with conditions while our enquiries continue.' Kyle, who works as a water operative, doesn't have a strong social media presence with just one Insta pic on his profile. Prior to his announced departure, Kyle said he was looking for 'someone that's fun, confident and just themselves'.

ITV Love Island 2025 star axed from line-up just hours after announcement

Kyle Ashman has been axed from the 2025 line-up just hours after the cast was announced. Kyle Ashman's stint on Love Island has been abruptly cut short. Just days before the 2025 series is set to kick off on Monday (June 9), it emerged that Kyle was sent packing from Majorca. ‌ The Sun has disclosed that Kyle found himself in hot water, having been arrested over suspicions of being linked to a machete assault. ‌ He was one of two people brought in for questioning but was later released without charge. The attack in question left the victim in need of urgent medical care, with injuries so severe they nearly lost an arm and had to spend a fortnight in hospital, reports Wales Online. Nevertheless, there's no suggestion that Kyle was involved in the violent incident. After looking into the matter, police have confirmed to OK! magazine that both individuals have been let go without any further action. An ITV representative has confirmed his exit from the reality show, commenting: "For personal reasons, Kyle will not be entering the Love Island Villa as planned." Kyle himself has spoken out about the ordeal, stating: "I fully cooperated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation." ‌ The 23-year-old water engineer from Stafford had told ITV he was hoping to meet "someone that's fun, confident and just themselves" during his time on Love Island. Speaking about his flirting tactics and whether host Maya Jama would give them the thumbs up, Kyle confidently stated: "Id say I'd be hired. I just go with it, find something to compliment a girl on and go from there." Today (Tuesday, June 3), the cast for the 2025 season was unveiled, introducing a new group of hopeful singles ready to seek out love this summer. ‌ Among them is personal trainer and semi-professional footballer Dejon Noel-Williams, 26, from London, who's embarking on a quest for love in the villa and has previously rubbed shoulders with none other than David Beckham. His brush with fame comes courtesy of his father, ex-footballer Gifton Noel-Williams, which has led to encounters with celebrities like football superstar Beckham, whom he remembers as "really nice." Gifton Noel-Williams, now retired, enjoyed a lengthy career in football, playing for clubs such as Watford, Stoke City, and Burnley. Notably, he began his professional journey with Watford at the tender age of 16.
