DY6 unlocks new Tundulu opportunities
Work identifies opportunity to produce phosphoric acid-grade concentrate co-product
Further testing to determine route to producing high-grade concentrates for processing
Special Report: Preliminary metallurgical testing of ore from DY6 Metals' Tundulu rare earths and phosphate project in Malawi has identified the opportunity to produce a phosphoric acid grade flotation concentrate co-product.
The testing of the 120kg composite sample grading 1.88% total rare earth oxides and 9.07% phosphorus pentoxide from a high-grade historical trench demonstrated excellent phosphorus solubility of over 40% – with one test returning 81% solubility – during bioavailability testing using 2% citric acid.
This is well above the industry threshold of 9.4% P2O5 solubility using citric acid as the reagent in the acid leach process.
The elevated phosphate grades of the deposit are also amenable to being upgraded into a flotation concentrate, providing DY6 Metals (ASX:DY6) with the potential opportunity of developing a fast and cheap direct fertiliser product from the near-surface high grade phosphate zones within the deposit.
On the rare earths front, the company found the REE mineralogy in the sample closely resembles the mineralogy of Mkango Resources' nearby Songwe Hill project, which supports regional metallurgical familiarity.
While flotation testwork carried out by DY6 to date has been limited, it believes that further testwork could deliver a concentrate grade suitable for treatment via a centralised hydrometallurgical plant.
'These preliminary metallurgical testwork results, while in no way exhaustive, are encouraging,' chief executive officer Cliff Fitzhenry said.
'The fine-grained nature of the dominant REE minerals (bastnaesite and synchysite) hosted within an apatite carbonate gangue has highlighted the need to undertake additional testwork to produce a high-grade concentrate suitable for processing within a hydrometallurgical plant.
'Additionally, the high phosphate grades lend a co-product phosphoric acid grade flotation concentrate opportunity.
'We are confident that, with carefully planned follow-up testwork we will be able to further unlock the significant co-product opportunity that exists at Tundulu.'

Tundulu project
The 91.5km2 Tundulu project in southern Malawi comprises several hills in a ring around a central vent called Nathace Hill, where the majority of historical surface sampling and drilling has been undertaken and identified heavy REE mineralisation.
Exploration undertaken by Japanese International Cooperation Agency in 1988 drilling down to a depth of 50m included a hit of 41m at 3.7% TREO from 8m.
A subsequent 55-hole drill program totalling 7000m targeting various elevations on the eastern slope of Nathace Hill in 2024 defined several mineralised zones with assays topping up at 101m at 1.02% TREO and 3.6% phosphate.
The rare earth carbonatite shows the highest grades of REE whilst the other areas host mineral apatite and showed phosphate grades ranging from ~5-30% P2O5.
Sampling carried out by the company found mineral rich carbonatite at the previously unexplored Tundulu Hill and Makhanga Hill to the east and west of Nathace respectively.
Flotation testwork carried out on the concentrate collected by the company yielded promising results with >85% TREO and >90% P2O5 recoveries achieved.
However, this did not produce a high-grade concentrate due to the mineralogy and fine-grained nature of the target minerals.
That said, the reasonable high grades provide reassurance that flotation performance and concentrate grade can be improved with further work that will seek to confirm the most suitable reagents combination for the rejection of carbonate, iron and silica minerals.
Consultants have recommended that DY6 carry out a detailed mineralogical analysis using quantitative modal techniques such as QEMSCAN and TIMA.The company will also look to expand the beneficiation testwork program. The focus with that would be on ore preparation prior to flotation and start sighter concentrate, refining testwork to identify opportunities and any limiting factors associated with the Tundulu mineralisation.

Resources Top 5: Many Peaks charges to record high on broad, high-grade gold in Côte d'Ivoire
Strong gold results to the viability of any potential bulk tonnage operation at Ouarigue prospect ETM has near-term critical minerals production opportunity in Spain Dante polymetallic project confirmed as a globally significant critical minerals discovery Your standout small cap resources stocks for Monday, August 11, 2025 Many Peaks Minerals (ASX:MPK) Broad, high-grade gold hits from the Ferké gold project in Côte d'Ivoire, including 75m at 6.11g/t from 427m, have seen Many Peaks Minerals charge to a new record of 90c, a lift of 25% on the August 8 close, and the market cap has lifted to about $108.47m. Extension and infill drilling at Ferké this year reveals that gold grades increase with depth and this along with potential increases in volume – point to the viability of any future bulk tonnage operation. Many Peaks Minerals (ASX:MPK) has high hopes for the Ouarigue prospect within the larger Ferké project that hosts a >37km corridor of gold anomalism where limited drill testing has occurred to date. The target is hosted in a tonalite intrusive unit, which is a similar host setting to the multi-million-ounce Bankan and Fekola deposits. MPK's diamond drilling program was extended from 6,000m to 15,000m earlier this year, with assays from six diamond holes at Ouarigue returning: 75m at 6.11g/t gold from 427m, including 7.07m at 52.9g/t; 87m at 1.50g/t Au from 340m, including 12m at 6.15g/t; 35.85m at 1.77g/t Au from 378.15m, including 10m at 4.14g/t; and 44m at 1.16g/t Au from 135m including 2m at 5.27g/t from 172m. The program has successfully added material volume to the mineralised intrusion, with gold mineralisation extended down-dip and south along strike. 'High-grade gold intercepts at Ferké, including today's 75m at 6.11g/t, continue to underpin the likelihood of a significant discovery in progress at our flagship project in Côte d'Ivoire,' managing director Travis Schwertfeger said. 'Our team is pleased to see a strong continuity of gold mineralisation in context of a bulk tonnage target at Ouarigue, and we are excited about the significant underground potential the high-grade intercepts represent for continuing exploration upside.' Diamond drilling continues with two drill rigs active on site enabling the company to complete 46 diamond core holes totalling more than 13,200m completed since the program started in April. Assays from 22 of these holes for more than 5700m remain pending. A further 4000m of diamond core drilling is planned as MPK works to define the extent of gold mineralisation. Energy Transition Minerals (ASX:ETM) A successful bid announced on August 7 for the Penouta tin-tantalum-niobium mine in Galicia, Spain, not only presents Energy Transition Minerals (ASX:ETM) with a near-term production opportunity, it has seen the company charge ahead on the ASX. Shares reached a 4-year high of 15c, a 173% increase on the previous close, with more than 116m changing hands valued at more than $13m. The offer of €5.2million (A$9.2 million) was successful for the mine and processing plant and will see ETM transition into a multi-asset, EU-based operator, expanding its strategy beyond a single asset in Greenland, its Tier-1 Kvanefjeld rare earths project. Penouta last operated in 2024 and is the only developed tin-tantalum-niobium project in the European Union. The bid aligns Penouta and ETM with the EU's goal to increase critical mineral production and enhance supply chain security. ETM said it represented a deep value opportunity, with the mine and processing plant acquired for well below the €28m (A$49.8m) cost of historical investment including processing infrastructure. ETM managing director Daniel Mamadou said securing the mine was a huge opportunity for the company as it was the only recent producer of the critical metals in Europe. 'This acquisition represents a compelling entry point into a near-term production opportunity for tin, tantalum and niobium, all of which are critical to Europe's industrial and technological ambitions,' he said. 'Importantly, Penouta also stands as the only current source of tantalum and niobium in the European Union, adding a key ethical dimension to sourcing conflict-free critical minerals. 'The upside for tantalum, particularly as an essential input for the semi-conductor industry, further enhances the strategic value of the acquisition.' Penouta has a Foreign Mineral Resource calculated in 2021 comprising an indicated and measured resource of 76.3Mt grading 149ppm tantalum pentoxide equivalent (443ppm tin and 73ppm tantalum). It also has an inferred 43-101 resource of 57Mt at 129ppm Ta2O5. Terra Metals (ASX:TM1) Terra Metals (ASX:TM1) has confirmed the Dante polymetallic project in WA as a globally significant critical minerals discovery after defining a maiden resource with plenty of upside and shares increased 24.64% to 8.6c, a new 12-month high. The resource of 148Mt grading 14.8% titanium dioxide, 0.54% vanadium pentoxide, 0.18% copper and 0.33% PGE and contains 22Mt TiO2, 800,000t V2O5, 270,000t copper, 400,000oz gold, 880,000oz platinum and 330,000oz palladium. It includes a high-grade indicated resource of 38Mt at 18.4% TiO2, 0.73% V2O5, 0.23% copper and 0.72g/t 3PGE. This resource was defined within 12 months of initial discovery and was made at a low discovery cost of 7c per tonne, highlighting the simple, laterally extensive and near-surface nature of the system. Adding further interest, the resource covers less than 10% of the mapped mineralised trend, which remains open along strike and at depth. Initial metallurgical testwork using flotation and magnetic separation has also confirmed excellent recoveries and concentrate grades across all key metals – titanium, vanadium, copper, gold and platinum – with optimisation work ongoing. Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) Dalaroo Metals (ASX:DAL) has completed a strongly supported placement for $1m with proceeds to progress the next phase of exploration in Cote d'Ivoire as well as its Greenland and WA projects. Funds will also be used to assess new complementary business opportunities. There were 35.1m fully paid ordinary shares issued at 2.5c per share with DAL also issuing 11.7m 1:3 free attaching options, exercisable at $0.036 each, expiring on August 23, 2029. The placement was conducted on an invitation only basis and cornerstoned by existing large shareholders of the company, Dalaroo's in-country partners in Cote d'Ivoire and all three directors. Bids received were significantly in excess of the minimum amount sought. Beacon Minerals (ASX:BCN) After stage 2 grade control drilling at the Lady Ida gold project in WA returned bonanza-grade intersections, Beacon Minerals (ASX:BCN) reached $1.67, a high of almost six years and a lift of 28.96% on the previous close. The 298-hole program for 16,506m, the largest RC drill program ever conducted by BCN, was aimed at increasing geological confidence in the Iguana stage 1 pit and results have been received from the first batch of 2,970 assays from multiple mineralised zones. Significant intersections include: 5m at 39.3g/t Au from 49m, including 1m at 179g/t from 49m; 6m at 46.8g/t Au from 32m, including 2m at 135.5g/t from 32m; 2m at 39.9g/t Au from 41m, including 1m at 75.9g/t from 41m; and 2m at 21.9 g/t Au from 18m. Beacon expects the remaining 13,536 assay results to be received over the next six to eight weeks. This article does not constitute financial product advice. ARN priced at 255% upside target
Special Report: East Coast Research has initiated coverage of Aldoro Resources by tagging the niobium and rare earths explorer with a target price of $1.101, which represents upside of 255%. East Coast Research sets $1.101 target price for Aldoro Resources Company's Kameelburg flagged as emerging Tier 1 niobium, REE project Catalysts include positive drill results, metallurgical testing and potential strategic partnerships It noted the company's focus on exploring its flagship Kameelburg REE and niobium project in Namibia at a time of accelerating global demand driven by decarbonisation, electrification, and technological advancement. Drilling at Kameelburg has thus far validated Aldoro Resources' (ASX:ARN) belief in its prospectivity with recent assays demonstrating the presence of consistent high-grade niobium while earlier holes in the current drill program contributed to the definition of a maiden resource. This resource of almost 280Mt at 2.45% total rare earth oxide (TREO) equivalent, or 1.16% TREO, 0.18% niobium and 177ppm molybdenum, is expected to see significant growth once it is updated with the remaining results in late August 2025. East Coast said the Phase 1 drill results at Kameelburg were encouraging as it confirmed broad zones of mineralisation that's consistent with surface geophysics and historical data. Notably, it considers the company's ability to delineate wide, high-grade intersections across multiple drill holes as reinforcing the potential for the project to emerge as a Tier 1 critical mineral resource. It added that many holes have ended in mineralisation, underscoring the system's depth potential and strong geological continuity. This also validates the presence of a vertically zoned polymetallic system, with upper REE-dominant layers transitioning into deeper niobium-rich zones. Accelerating resource definition East Coast noted that ARN's recent acquisition of two dedicated drill rigs to maintain strong drilling momentum while reducing dependency on third-party contractors will allow the company to fast-track exploration and resource development at Kameelburg. 'This strategic investment is aimed at significantly enhancing the company's drilling depth and capacity, enabling deeper exploration and a more robust assessment of mineralisation across the project area,' analyst Riddhesh Chandwadkar said. The Nock 600 rig is capable of drilling to 510m while the Nock 800 rig extends the company's maximum drilling depth to about 740m, a ~40% improvement over current capabilities. Additionally, the acquisition covers drill rods sufficient for 15,000m of additional drilling, as well as associated consumables and generators. As such, the acquisition also positions the company to support its exploration momentum. Divesting non-core assets East Coast adds the company has acted in line with its strategy to focus on Kameelburg by carrying out a strategic review of its non-core exploration portfolio in Western Australia. ARN has received unsolicited expressions of interest in several of its other 100%-owned projects, including the Niobe lithium-rubidium-tantalum project, Wyemandoo lithium-rubidium-tungsten project, Narndee nickel-gold project, and the 85%-owned EPL 7895 gold project. While no final decisions have been made regarding potential divestments, the company is evaluating commercial options that could include partial or full sales, joint ventures, or other capital initiatives. Such a move will optimise the company's portfolio, enabling it to enhance shareholder value by concentrating efforts on its highest-potential asset whilst monetising or restructuring less strategic holdings. Commodity outlook East Coast also touched on the various commodities present at Kameelburg. It noted the outlook for niobium remains robust as it is underpinned by growing demand from the steel, aerospace and emerging clean energy sectors, while the limited global production is dominated by Brazil and a few other suppliers. This provides emerging niobium producers with a structural advantage as the minerals' strategic importance is set to increase, supporting long-term price stability and investor interest. Rare earths also have a strong forward outlook due to their irreplaceable role in high-tech, renewable and defence applications. With magnet REEs such as neodymium and praseodymium in high demand for electric vehicles, wind turbines and electronics, the market remains structurally undersupplied. China's dominance in REE refining and recent policy shifts have also amplified global interest in diversifying supply chains, creating a favourable environment for REE projects outside of Asia. Meanwhile, molybdenum continues to benefit from its essential role in steel alloys, high-performance materials, and renewable energy infrastructure. Global consumption is expected to grow, driven by power generation, nuclear energy, and industrial applications requiring high-temperature and corrosion-resistant materials, while supply is expected to decline, which may support higher prices over the medium term. Valuation East Coast said it values ARN at A$1.024 per share in a base-case scenario and A$1.177 per share in a bull-case scenario using an in-situ valuation-based approach. 'Our mid-point fair valuation price of A$1.101 represents 255% upside potential to the current share price of $0.31,' Chandwadkar added. 'REE-Nb-Mo are critical inputs for the clean energy transition, advanced manufacturing and defence applications. 'With rising geopolitical tensions and increasing global demand, particularly for permanent magnets and superalloys, these commodities are expected to see sustained pricing support, especially as Western nations seek to diversify supply chains away from China.' The research firm adds that key near-term catalysts for ARN include positive drilling results, metallurgical testwork updates, and potential strategic partnerships.
