Kota Kinabalu: Well-known local brand DOJO Nanyang Kopi House officially launched a new outlet in the fast-growing Parklane City in Benoni here. The café will bring its signature Nanyang flavors to the local community and, in turn, expand dining options and strengthen the township's culinary appeal. Its presence adds diversity to the area's food and beverage (F&B) landscape and offers Papar residents another high-quality dining destination. DOJO Nanyang Kopi House Benoni branch Director Khor Boon Theng and operations and training manager Vicee Lo Vui Chee said this to WSG Group Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen. The outlet is strategically located at a corner lot opposite 10Star Cinemas and Majestic Banquet Hall. The premise features a spacious two-storey layout with both air-conditioned indoor dining and outdoor seating, capable of accommodating up to 120 patrons. To ensure excellent service, the branch has hired 50 staff, including over 30 kitchen crew, waiters and waitresses, as well as 20 administrative and management personnel. In line with the brand's philosophy, DOJO has prioritized hiring locals from Papar, in effort to create job opportunities within the community. Founded in 2017 in Tawau, DOJO Nanyang Kopi House blends authentic Nanyang-style cuisine with Sabah's local culture, setting it apart from typical West Malaysian Nanyang eateries. Since its inception, the brand has expanded across Sabah, including multiple outlets in east coast and Kota Kinabalu, and has gone international with a branch in Tarakan, Indonesia. 'Everything that's in Kota Kinabalu, you'll find here too. Benoni Parklane City is poised to thrive,' Khor said. He credited Susan for her instrumental role in transforming Papar into a booming township beyond Kota Kinabalu. With extensive facilities including shopping malls, hypermarkets, popular F&B chains, banks, cinemas, banquet hall, and upcoming developments like a sports arena and large petrol station, plus the newly opened Pan-Borneo Highway, Benoni Parklane City is set to become a key commercial hub. Susan praised the DOJO team's youthful energy and visionary mindset, noting that they bring fresh vitality to the township. 'DOJO adds more variety to our food scene and delivers top-notch service. On the other hand, Hu said the new Chinese-style furniture has gradually become a mainstream trend in the furniture market in recent years. 'The furniture do not only feature elements of the Chinese culture, but also reflects fashion and comfort of modern living.' He explained that new Chinese-style furniture are based on reinterpretations of Ming and Qing dynasty furniture, but feature contemporary design and craftmanship. Trident Acquires 30 Pct Stake In Tongxin's Web 3.0 E-commerce Platform On Telegram
BUSINESS KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Trident Digital Tech Holdings Ltd (Trident), a Singapore-based digital transformation company, has signed a sales and purchase agreement to acquire a 30 per cent equity stake in Tongxin Innovation Ltd (Tongxin). The transaction, valued at about US$3 million, will be executed through the issuance of Trident's American Depositary Shares (ADSs) in the form of Class B ordinary shares to Tongxin's shareholders. (US$1=RM4.21) The deal values Tongxin, which operates the ToMe Web 3.0 e-commerce platform on Telegram, at approximately US$10 million. In a statement, Trident said the strategic investment expands its Web 3.0 ecosystem and underscores its commitment to blockchain-enabled e-commerce solutions. Trident Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Soon Huat Lim said the acquisition aligns with the company's mission to become a global leader in Web 3.0 enablement. He said the integration of ToMe's Web 3.0 commerce capabilities with Tridentity will enhance user experience and accelerate blockchain adoption in mainstream commerce. Tongxin's ToMe platform is built on Telegram, which has more than one billion users, and is designed to address e-commerce challenges through its '4F' value proposition, which is Fair, Fast, Friendly and Free. The company has partnered with decentralised blockchain projects on Ton, which has a combined user base of over 10 million, with active communities in Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong. RM366 million project sets Kinabatangan on urban transformation path

KINABATANGAN: Pekan Kota Kinabatangan is poised for urban transformation under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan, with the ground-breaking of a major RM366 million mixed-development project. The Seri Milian new township project was officially launched recently by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the Pekan Kota Kinabatangan Dataran Terminal Terbuka, marking a new chapter in economic growth and sustainable development for Sabah's East Coast. Advertisement Sabah Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB) Chairman Datuk Masiung Banah said the 154.48-acre development, implemented through a strategic partnership between Sunmow Construction Sdn Bhd and Kinabatangan District Council, will serve as an economic catalyst for residents, particularly in the Lamag area. The project will be executed in three phases over 15 years and will feature a 13-storey, four-star hotel with 200 rooms to capitalise on Kinabatangan's tourism potential. The new township will also include a tourism information centre, commercial hub, sports complex, public housing, district council building, mosque, petrol station and food court. Meanwhile, the LPPB announced additional SMJ development programs in Beluran, including the construction of 16 commercial buildings costing RM1.1568 million and 20 affordable housing units in the first phase near Pekan Beluran.
