The Browns also announced that Sanders will not practice Thursday, nor will he play Saturday when the two teams meet for a preseason game in Philadelphia.
Sanders suffered the injury during warmups, according to ESPN, and underwent an MR to determine the severity. The team decided to hold Sanders out for the remainder of the session as the teams worked on 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills. He stayed on the field for the rest of practice watching the Browns go through drills with the Eagles.
With Sanders out, Kenny Pickett led the first team and rookie Dillon Gabriel headed up the second team during 7-on-7 drills. Joe Flacco worked with the starters in 11-on-11 drills, while Gabriel saw most of his action with the second team.
The Browns have now seen three of their quarterbacks deal with injuries throughout training camp. Pickett missed three practices with a hamstring injury before returning to the field in a limited fashion. Gabriel has also dealt with a hamstring issue and is back working in team drills for a second straight day.
After practice, Sanders talked with Eagles quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP Jalen Hurts, who didn't reveal what the two discussed.
Sanders started the Browns' preseason opener where he completed 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers.

After ACL derailment, Cowboys DE's closing camp moment indicates best is ahead

Sam Williams capped training camp with a pick-six and leadership praise from Jerry Jones, who compared the defensive end's mindset to that of Hall of Famer Michael Irvin. One year ago, Sam Williams' season ended before it began. A torn ACL in training camp put him on injured reserve, and while recovering, he served a three-game suspension for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy. It was the latest in a string of disciplinary setbacks that included multiple arrests and a reputation for costly on-field penalties. Now, after months of rehab and reflection, Williams left Oxnard with one of the most talked-about plays of Cowboys training camp and perhaps a turning point in how he is viewed inside the building. Coaches have called him 'hungry' all summer, and his final act in California showed exactly what they meant. In the final padded practice, with only one snap left on the day, Williams dropped into coverage and intercepted Dak Prescott in the red zone. Then he took off, sprinting the length of the field for a Pick-6, drawing cheers from teammates and a smile from the owner. 'Sam is not fragile in terms of mental,' Jerry Jones said, 'but as Michael Irvin said when he had an injury that flashed before him the prospects of not playing again… it made his career to appreciate what he might miss. I think Sam has had that same realization.' The comparison to Irvin, a Hall of Famer who turned a career-threatening injury scare into fuel for his legendary work ethic, is no small compliment. For Williams, it is validation after a turbulent stretch. With veteran depth on the edge gone and expectations higher than ever, Williams' 2025 season will be about proving this version of himself is here to stay. If the end of camp was any indication, he is off to the right start.

NFL analyst predicts a matching win total for the Eagles and an NFC rival

There are two issues found in a recent NFL projection that has Eagles tying the win total of an NFC foe. At some point while growing up, we all had a mother or grandmother warn us about the dangers of using words like 'hate'. You all remember what we were told. 'Never say you hate someone.' It sounded like great advice, but then we all discovered football, and we learned something. Falling in love with the Philadelphia Eagles made it impossible not to hate the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Now, we all say things like 'I hate Dallas', and each time it happens, it seems normal and natural. It rolls off the tongue so well. Try it... 'I hate the Giants... Do you see how great that felt? Big Blue and the so-called America's Team have drawn the ire of Birds fans for years, but over time, annual events like the NFL Playoffs can help birth extended rivalries. While everyone may not feel this way, we can guarantee many of you have close friends and relatives who have developed a strong dislike for the San Francisco 49ers. While the Niners aren't a traditional Eagles rival, they have become slightly irritating recently. Maybe it was that NFC Championship Game. You know the one. San Francisco's quarterback got knocked out of the game. They were taken to task, and they and their fans couldn't accept the loss and move on. Nothing is promised in this game, and while it's too early to make guarantees about anything, we can offer our predictions. If one NFL projection crafted recently is correct, there stands a chance that the Birds and 49ers may cross paths during the postseason again. Eagles and 49ers are both expected to produce 12-win regular seasons Persusing the timeline and web at this time of year can lead to some intriguing discoveries. One was found on Bleacher Reports. They tried their hand at predicting each division's standings for the 2025-26 NFL season. In the National Football Conference, the Green Bay Packers claimed the NFC North's crown while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers again claimed the NFC South. The Eagles and 49ers claimed the NFC East and NFC West, respectively. Boh finished with a 12-5 record. Philadelphia claims home-field advantage. Most Birds fans will love that. Maurice Moton, the writer of this one, names one question mark. "New offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo is the biggest question mark in Philadelphia. The first-time play-caller must optimize the plethora of talent on that side of the ball. Nevertheless, the Eagles' wealth of offensive talent could overcome any play-calling inefficiencies." We throw the challenge flag here. We'll throw a couple. One, the transition from Kellen Moore to Kevin Patullo will be smooth, smoother than some believe. He has too many weapons to fail. As far as the 49ers winning the NFC South... That too may prove to be erroneous. The league seems to be catching up to Kyle Shanahan, and San Fran has gotten old in a hurry. Many of their best players are past their prime. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams appear to be on the upswing. Much of the Rams' success will hinge on how much Matt Stafford has left in the tank, but even if he isn't what he once was, L.A. has an answer. Backup quarterbacks Jimmy Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett are both good enough to win some games if necessary.

49ers star drops 17 spots on NFL's Top 100 after strong 2024 campaign

With the start of the NFL's 2025 regular season still weeks away, this is still the perfect time for narratives and comparisons between active players in today's game, which is why the NFL's Top 100 is being unveiled through Sept. 1. On Friday, the league announced that San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle came in at No. 31. Kittle is the fourth member of his team to make it, joining offensive tackle Trent Williams (No. 45), defensive end Nick Bosa (No. 57) and running back Christian McCaffrey (No. 73). Interestingly, Kittle is actually down 17 spots after finishing at No. 14 on the 2024 edition of this list, despite catching 78 passes for 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns while making a sixth Pro Bowl and fourth All-Pro team this past season. In fewer games than the year prior, he had 13 more receptions for 86 more yards and two more scores. The rest of the Top 100 will be unveiled over the next few weeks, and 49ers fans will likely have their eyes all over the announcements, as this seems to be pretty low for arguably the best tight end in the NFL. We already know he won't be the top tight end on the list as Las Vegas' Brock Bowers hasn't appeared yet after his 112-reception, 1194-yard rookie campaign. If Kittle stays healthy, he'll have a great chance to move back up into the top 30 in 2026. Considering the current state of San Francisco's long list of injured pass-catchers for Brock Purdy to target, the tight end should have plenty of opportunities to prove himself again as he turns 32.
