NexG sets up MyNasional Holdings as AI, data intelligence arm
KUALA LUMPUR: NexG Bhd's new subsidiary, MyNasional Holdings Sdn Bhd, will serve as the group's dedicated artificial intelligence (AI) and data intelligence arm, in line with the Digital Economy Blueprint and the national MyDigital ID roadmap.
The group said MyNasional is envisioned to play a critical role in supporting the government's digitalisation agenda by delivering trusted, intelligent, and interoperable digital solutions to both public institutions and private sector ecosystems.
"The entity will oversee three key focus areas - digital identity and eKYC (electronic-Know Your Customer) verification, business data and corporate intelligence, as well as AI and smart analytics solutions,' it said in a statement today.
Through the establishment of a dedicated unit, MyNasional AI, the group aims to lead the development of transformative, next-generation AI solutions.
"These offerings will include behavioural analytics, intelligent screening, public safety prediction, and smart city infrastructure such as automated surveillance, digital traffic control, and data-driven resource optimisation.
"As Malaysia progresses toward becoming a digitally connected and AI-enabled nation, MyNasional AI is strategically positioned to support cross-agency digital transformation, while offering scalable models for smart city deployment, public service automation, and even exportable AI solutions for regional use,' it said.
NexG deputy chairman Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman said that through MyNasional Holdings, the group is setting the stage for Malaysia's next-generation digital trust infrastructure.

One million affordable homes

Kuala Lumpur: A total of one million affordable housing units will be developed by the federal government, state authorities and private developers between 2026 and 2035 to provide more Malaysians with access to safe and comfortable homes, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today. Tabling the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) in the Dewan Rakyat, Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said the initiative will be implemented through a range of programmes including Residensi Madani, the Public Servants Housing Scheme, the New Home Construction Assistance Programme, the Affordable Housing Scheme and Rumah Bakat Madani. 'The government remains committed to ensuring access to quality, affordable and inclusive housing,' he said, adding that as of this year, 180,000 housing units have been completed, with another 235,000 currently under construction. Despite these efforts, Anwar acknowledged that structural issues, such as the mismatch between housing supply and demand, as well as property prices that remain beyond the reach of many, continue to pose challenges. To address these concerns, he said initiatives such as the Housing Credit Guarantee Scheme and the Rent-to-Own (RTO) programme will be expanded, enabling more low- and middle-income Malaysians to purchase homes. He added that the adoption of modern construction technologies, including the Industrialised Building System (IBS) and Building Integrated Management, will help expedite housing delivery and reduce construction costs, particularly for public housing projects. Anwar also highlighted Kota Madani in Putrajaya, a collaboration between the government and Putrajaya Holdings, as a model for future affordable housing development. The project embodies the concept of umran hadhari, which refers to urban prosperity rooted in values, ethics and sustainable development. 'This approach offers citizens not only a place to live, but a meaningful urban lifestyle that integrates progress with values, modernity with ethics and technology with humanity,' he said. The 13MP, themed 'Melakar Semula Pembangunan' (Redesigning Development), covers the period from 2026 to 2030 and aims to reform the country's socio-economic agenda in line with the Malaysia Madani framework. The plan outlines key policies, strategies and initiatives to strengthen nation-building, enhance public well-being, promote environmental sustainability, improve governance, as well as drive regional and global economic growth.

Registration not required to collect RM100 aid
Special interview with Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan at Ministry of Finance Putrajaya yesterday. — IZZRAFIQ ALIAS/The Star NO registration is required for Malaysians to collect the RM100 additional aid as the money is automatically given to all Malaysian adults with a MyKad, says Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan (pic). 'MyKad data from the National Registration Department (JPN) will be used for this purpose,' he said during Minister's Question Time. Amir advised Malaysians not to be fooled by scammers or fraudsters over the RM100 aid. He clarified that the RM100 aid is per individual, not per household. 'For example, a family with two parents and three children over 18 will receive RM500 in total.' Amir said the RM100 can be spent at more than 4,500 registered retail outlets involving 90,000 daily necessities in 14 categories, such as eggs, rice and medicine. He added that the list of participating businesses is growing since the Prime Minister's announcement on July 23, and encouraged supermarkets and grocery stores to register their interest with MyKasih. The RM100 aid is part of several SARA programme initiatives, which includes a postponement of toll hikes for 10 highways and a RON95 fuel price reduction to RM1.99 per litre.
