Michigan State football has extended an offer to one of the top players from Michigan in the 2027 class, and the younger brother of a top target in the 2026 class.
Gideon Gash of Novi, Mich. announced on Wednesday that he's received an offer from Michigan State. Gash -- who is the younger brother of Spartans target Samson Gash -- posted on his social media X account about the offer from the Spartans.
Gash is listed as a four-star prospect with a 247Sports composite recruiting rating of 89.28. He is ranked as the No. 30 cornerback and No. 5 player from Michigan in 247Sports' rankings for the 2027 class.
Gash has started to pick up a ton of attention on the recruiting trail as Michigan State is one of more than 10 schools to extend an offer to Gash, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Wisconsin, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Kent State, Miami (OH) and Toledo.

Club's new 13-year-old stadium announcer praised

A young football fan who stepped up at short notice to provide cover as a stadium announcer said he was pleased to have received "loads of compliments". When Burscough FC put out an SOS this summer, 13-year-old James - whose dad Richard volunteers as a kitman at the North West Counties Premier club - put his hand up. Richard said that while James was "very nervous" while announcing the teams in front of about 100 fans at his first game a few weeks ago, his son "hit his stride" on Saturday during his second match at the mic. "He made it his own," Richard explained. "Everyone commented how amazing he was." He said his son's performance was akin to the emphatic style typically employed by boxing commentators during big fights. "Everyone, including his mum and me to be honest, was really pleased at how he seemed to take it in his stride, " Richard added. "He was in his element!" James said he found the experience "very good" and will appear behind the mic at Burscough's next match. "I've always wanted to do it and be a sports reporter," said the young teenager. "I got loads of compliments." To top it off, Burscough FC beat rivals Longridge Town 2-1. Listen to the best of BBC Radio Lancashire on Sounds and follow BBC Lancashire on Facebook, X and Instagram. Detroit sports radio host outlines 3 goals for Michigan State football this season

One of the biggest sports personalities in the state has outlined his expectations for Michigan State football this year, with a simple question of whether or not they are unreasonable or not. Mike Valenti of 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit provided his expectations and goals for the Spartans this upcoming season, and wants the fans to weigh in on whether or not he's being reasonable. Here are the outlined expectations Valenti provided during a show earlier this week: Seems pretty reasonable to me -- the bigger question is whether or not the Spartans can get that done. Valenti is a Spartans alum and has been known for holding Michigan State to high standards. This list of expectations seems about right, in my opinion, and something I believe they can achieve this fall. In my preseason predictions, I have Michigan State going 7-5 with notable wins over Indiana and Michigan that would qualify as the significant victory Valenti is calling for. I also believe their offense will be "fun again" as he said during his show -- so for me, Michigan State nearly checks all of those boxes in my personal outlook for the season. Spartans invite Illinois 2027 ATH prospect that has offers from Miami (FL), Penn State

Michigan State football is reportedly showing interest in an athlete prospect from Illinois that holds a pair of notable power four offers. Josh Morgan of Oak Park, Ill. announced on Sunday that he has received an invitation to attend the Spartans' season-opener against Western Michigan on August 29. Morgan added in a social media post that he "can't wait to get back on campus" noting that he plans to either attend this opener or hopefully another game this upcoming season. Morgan is currently listed as an unranked 2027 athlete prospect on 247Sports. His social media X account states he plays wide receiver and defensive back, and is listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds. He plays for Fenwick High. Michigan State has not yet extended an offer to Morgan, according to 247Sports. He does, however, hold offers from Miami (FL), Penn State and Western Michigan.
