Rajasthan's Gurjars hold Mahapanchayat in Pilupura demanding reservation
In the Mahapanchayat being held near Hindaun-Bayana State Highway, various demands, including reservation for Gurjars, are being discussed under the leadership of Vijay Bainsla, President of Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti.
Vijay Bainsla is the son of the veteran Gurjar leader Col K S Bainsla who led community agitations till his death four years ago. The Gurjar community had given an ultimatum to the government till 1 pm on Sunday.
Crowds of people of the Gurjar community have started gathering in Pilupura-Karwadi aea of Bayana. National Convenor of Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti Vijay Bainsla said, 'We have got incomplete rights. We have to get them completely. This Maha Panchayat of the Gurjar community has been called in Pilupura for it.'
Vijay Bainsla said that the community will not hold any talks.
A letter of demands has been given to the government. The government will ask for a draft in the Mahapanchayat. Whatever message comes from the government will be discussed on the floor of the gathering, he said.
Vijay Bainsala said, 'Now, we will not approach the government for talks. The government should send a letter with a competent IAS officer. If the letter is sent, it will be read out to the society during the Mahapanchayat. Followingly, whatever the society says on the spot will be decided.'

Raj ministerial committee agrees to key demands of Gurjar community
Jaipur: The third meeting of Rajasthan's ministerial committee to discuss Gurjar community's seven-point demands agreed Thursday to grant compassionate appointment to the dependent of Sikandra's Roopnarayan Gurjar, who died in the 2016 Gurjar agitation in Jhijhan, Dausa. The panel also approved financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to Gurjar's next of kin. The meeting also conceded the demand to appoint an ASP rank officer as nodal officer at the district, and an IG rank officer at the state to coordinate and expedite resolution of pending police cases related to the Gurjar agitation. The Rajasthan govt has agreed on June 8 this year to consider the Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti's 7-point charter of demands after which the Gurjar Mahapanchayat in Peelupura, Bharatpur, was called off. The ministerial committee was constituted to consider the demands. Gurjar body plans next step as 60-day deadline nears
Jaipur: Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti is deliberating on its next steps as the pact with the state govt over its demand for Constitutional protection for the MBC quota approaches its 60-day deadline this week. The organisation Sunday said the govt had not met its commitments. The samiti and the state govt reached a seven-point agreement on June 8 during the Gurjar Mahapanchayat in Peelupura, Bharatpur. Although a ministerial committee was formed and held two meetings to address the community's demands, samiti members did not participate in those discussions. Furthermore, the cabinet is yet to approve inclusion of the 5% MBC quota in the Constitution's Ninth Schedule. The state administration had committed to approaching the Union govt for this. Union MoS applauds Meghalaya's progress
Shillong: Union minister of state for cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar concluded his two-day official visit to Meghalaya on Friday as part of the Centre's ongoing efforts to assess and accelerate development initiatives in the northeast and lauded the progress of Meghalaya in various spheres. The minister engaged with senior state officials, district administrators and departments to review the implementation of centrally-sponsored schemes and emphasised on infrastructure, social empowerment and livelihood-based programmes. Highlighting the Centre's commitment to uplift remote regions, Gurjar said, "The Govt of India's vision for a Viksit Bharat can only be achieved when every region, including remote and hilly areas like Meghalaya, progresses hand-in-hand with the rest of the country".
