What is the right price for the Boston Celtics in a Jaylen Brown trade? The Celtics have been seen as likely to make some significant changes to their roster to get ahead of an unprecedented payroll and tax bill that is about to come due in the same season that Boston will likely be without star forward Jayson Tatum as he recovers from a torn Achilles tendon. And with the team potentially owing more in tax than salary, that take makes all the sense in the world.
Brown has not, to be clear, one of the players assumed by most to be a likely player to be moved given the value to the team. But Sports Illustrated reporter Chris Mannix believes that there could be a deal from the San Antonio Spurs for the Georgia native that might be too sweet for the Celtics' front office to turn down. What could it look like?

DeMarcus Cousins has drinks thrown at him, tries to fight fans after wild ejection in Puerto Rico basketball league

DeMarcus Cousins hasn't played in the NBA since the 2021-22 season. (Photo by AAron Ontiveroz/MediaNews Group/The Denver Post via Getty Images) Former Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins came extremely close to re-creating the "Malice at the Palace" on Monday. Cousins tried to fight fans after a wild ejection during a Puerto Rico basketball league game. The incident occurred in the fourth quarter of the contest. Cousins — a member of the Guaynabo Mets — appeared to get into a verbal altercation with a fan on the side of the court. Cousins grabbed his crotch in front of the fan, who responded by flipping off Cousins. The center then touched the man multiple times before teammates stepped in. Cousins was ejected from the contest, but the incident wasn't over. As Cousins was being led back through the tunnel, he took a swipe at an angry fan and stuck up his middle finger at the crowd. At that point, multiple fans threw drinks at Cousins, who then attempted to go after the fans. Cousins was held back by multiple security members, who prevented what could have been a much nastier incident. Cousins, 34, hasn't played in the NBA since the 2021-22 season. A former first-round pick, Cousins emerged as a future superstar early in his career before injuries slowed him. Advertisement Since leaving the NBA, Cousins has continued his professional basketball career in various leagues around the world. He initially joined the Guaynabo Mets in 2023, but he also played in Taiwan and Mongolia before re-joining the Mets for the 2025 season. It's unclear whether Cousins will continue playing for the Mets following Monday's ejection and near-fight, which drew comparisons to the "Malice at the Palace." During an NBA game in 2004, Metta World Peace — then known as Ron Artest — went into the stands and fought fans at The Palace at Auburn Hills, where the Detroit Pistons used to play. Multiple players got involved in the scuffle, leading to multiple suspensions and charges from law enforcement. The Cousins incident didn't rise to that level Monday, but it's tough to see him getting another shot in the league considering how bad the situation looked.

Mark Zuckerberg is reportedly recruiting a team to build a ‘superintelligence'

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is personally assembling a team to achieve a 'superintelligence,' machines that are capable of surpassing human capabilities, according to a Bloomberg report. Zuckerberg is reportedly so frustrated with Meta's efforts in the artificial intelligence space that he has taken it upon himself to meet with experts in the field at his homes in Lake Tahoe and Palo Alto, California. Meta and Zuckerberg did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Meta has created AI tools that are woven into Facebook, WhatsApp and other Meta-owned apps, as well as its Ray-Ban glasses and chatbots. But the extremely competitive AI landscape continues to be led by ChatGPT-maker OpenAI, and Meta's Llama AI model has faced some recent setbacks. Zuckerberg plans to hire about 50 people and has shifted the layout of the company's Menlo Park headquarters to put the new AI team near his office, Bloomberg reported Tuesday, citing people that asked to remain anonymous. Zuckerberg has personally taken on this task because he's frustrated with the progress of Llama 4, Meta's latest large language model, according to Bloomberg. The New York Times, which separately confirmed many details of the report, also said that Alexandr Wang, the 28-year-old founder and CEO of startup Scale AI, is part of the project with Meta mulling a billions in investment in his company. Zuckerberg has reportedly told people that the initiative would be funded by Meta's massive advertising business. It's unclear how the new team would work with Meta's existing AI team, Bloomberg said. Over the past few years, Zuckerberg has pushed increasingly further into repositioning Meta into an AI powerhouse with mixed success. His intensity in the area has sharpened following the leaps in advancement from OpenAI, a rival that raised tens of billions of dollars in funding. Zuckerberg's superintelligence goal is extremely lofty. Before AI can achieve capabilities that outmatch humans' brains, the technology first needs to become capable of accomplishing anything a human can do – a so-called artificial general intelligence. AI researchers debate how close we are to that AGI goal, with some saying we're years away and other saying we're nowhere close and we have no path to achieving it. Nevertheless, the AI race is as competitive as any tech battle in recent memory. Meta is facing off with Microsoft-backed OpenAI and Alphabet, as well as a host of other major upstarts with serious funding, including Elon Musk's xAI and Anthropic. Apple has gotten a slow start but announced some of its own AI developments this week. Many tech leaders like Zuckerberg believe AI represents an existential threat to their businesses. Meta has been trying to differentiate itself with Llama by making it open source, a free-to-use AI model that seeks to become the basis for the majority of the world's AI (think Android for artificial intelligence). Google believes AI poses a significant threat to its search business: If people can just ask an AI model for the answer, why search for anything? Apple understands that AI may ultimately make apps moot, potentially undermining its smartphone dominance. And OpenAI may have gotten a massive head start with ChatGPT, but competitors are quickly catching up. CNN's David Goldman contributed to this report.

LSU's Flau'jae Johnson admits friendship with Angel Reese has soured

Flau'jae Johnson and Angel Reese won a women's college basketball national championship together when the two players were with the LSU Tigers. However, it appears a lot has changed since then. Reese, who now plays in the WNBA for the Chicago Sky, opened up about her relationship with Johnson in September during an episode of her podcast, "Unapologetically Angel." She said at the time the two were not "as close as we used to be" and "there were no hard feelings" toward each other, but the closeness that was once there just is not anymore. Johnson added more to it when she appeared on "The Breakfast Club" on Monday. "We're not friends, but I mean that bond that we had, that thing that we did together, winning a national championship, you can never take that away from us," she said. "And so sometimes stuff happens. You wish it don't happen, but it do. And you just gotta grow. "But I support her in everything she do. Like, she's killing in the WNBA … I'm just proud of her." Johnson agreed that the reason for the split was partially to do with things happening in the background. "Yeah, it was a lot of media, it was a lot of locker room stuff, you know what I'm saying? Stuff that go on behind the scenes. But it happens. It happens," she said. During the 2023-24 season, as LSU looked to defend its national title, the mothers of both Reese and Johnson got into a social media spat. Reese's mother, Angel Reese Webb, criticized Johnson on social media, which prompted a response from Johnson's mom, Kia Brooks, who took aim at the former Tigers' forward GPA. Reese, the former LSU star, seemingly threw shade at Brooks when she graduated from school. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X, and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
