Report: Jazz hosted predraft workout with potential first-round target Former Texas guard Tre Johnson reportedly attended a workout with the Utah Jazz ahead of the 2025 NBA draft, according to Sarah Todd of the Deseret News. Johnson was named the SEC Freshman of the Year last season, averaging 19.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 33 games on 39.7% shooting from 3-point range. He was the 10th player in program history to be honored as Freshman of the Year. The 6-foot-5 standout is considered a potential top-five pick and a possible target of the Jazz with the fifth overall selection. He recently visited the Jazz, his first known workout. University of Texas guard Tre Johnson went through a predraft workout with the Utah Jazz last week, according to league sources. Johnson, 19, is widely expected to be a top-5 pick, but could go as high at No. 3 in the June 25 draft. Johnson scored in double figures in all but two games, becoming the sixth freshman in history to lead the SEC in scoring average. He finished with the highest scoring average by a Longhorns player since J'Covan Brown in the 2011-12 season (20.1). The 19-year-old is highly touted because of his dynamic scoring ability and potential to pull up from all over the court. He dazzled on offense by creating for himself and hitting difficult shots on the move or with his patented step-backs and side-steps. In addition to Johnson, the Jazz have also hosted workouts with projected first-rounders Nique Clifford (Colorado State), Drake Powell (North Carolina) and Jase Richardson (Michigan State). They hold pick Nos. 21, 43 and 53 in the draft on June 25-26 in Brooklyn, New York.

If not for several late-inning blunders in their Chapel Hill Super Regional, the North Carolina Tar Heels would be part of this year's College World Series field. Stevenson hit for a career .267 batting average during his 2-year career as a Diamond Heel, collecting 117 hits, while mashing 33 home runs and driving in 116 runners. Though you may hear more about his offense, Stevenson is quite the defensive catcher, too, committing just four errors through 125 games.
