Warm welcome to IT companies migrating to Karnataka from Maharashtra: Dy CM
'The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra had made a statement a few days ago that IT companies were moving from Maharashtra to Bengaluru. I would like to thank him for saying that. We are not competing with other states in the country but at a global level. Maharashtra too has a significant IT industry, but we will welcome any IT company moving to our state with open arms.'
Asked about criticism regarding the planned protest in Bengaluru against election fraud, he said, 'I don't understand why others are feeling upset with our protest.
We don't have to answer anyone regarding this, we are only answerable to the people of Karnataka.
BJP did election fraud using data collected by private firm Chilume, our national leaders will talk about it.
Rahul Gandhi isn't coming here for political reasons; he will be here to tell people how the elections are rigged. We must stop Election Commission from becoming a wing of a political party.'
'Our party has done extensive research about vote theft and we are committed to expose BJP's election fraud. We will decide on the format of August 5th protest in consultation with the national leadership,' he said.

Asked about CID's report that there was no evidence in the honey trap allegation made by Minister K N Rajanna, he said, 'What has this got to do with me? I don't know about the complainant or the investigation. I am hearing about it from the media.'Replying to a question on chairmanship of KMF, he said, 'I don't want to comment on this, it is purely a media creation.

ECI again asks Rahul Gandhi to submit evidence of irregularity in Karnataka Assembly election under oath
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday (August 9, 2025) again asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to submit under oath the allegations made by him on voter roll manipulation in a Karnataka Assembly Constituency. Either Mr. Gandhi should give a declaration/oath, or apologise to the country, sources in the ECI said. Mr. Gandhi had in a press conference on Thursday claimed that 1,00,250 'fake votes' were created in the Mahadevapura Assembly seat under the Bangalore Central Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka, in order to ensure a win for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Following this, the Karnataka Chief Electoral Officer had issued a letter to the Congress leader, asking him to submit evidence under oath under Rule 20 (3) (b) of the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. The Rule says: 'The registration officer shall hold a summary inquiry into every claim or objection in respect of which notice has been given under Rule 19 and shall record his decision thereon.' 'The registration officer may in his discretion (a) require any claimant, objector or person objected to, to appear in person before him; (b) require that the evidence tendered by any person shall be given on oath and administer an oath for the purpose,' it also says. Experts on electoral law have, however, said the rule quoted by the ECI was not applicable in this context as a complaint under it had to be filed within 30 days of publication of electoral rolls.

'Not empty claims, he has unearthed vote theft': Aaditya Thackeray backs Rahul Gandhi's allegations on ECI
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Saturday backed Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's recent allegations of large-scale "vote theft" during elections, asserting that the Election Commission is being "operated through the BJP office". "We had been saying this for a long time now that vote theft has indeed happened across the country, and that EC is operated through the BJP office. What Rahul Gandhi has shown are not empty claims. He has unearthed 'vote theft'..." Thackeray told the urged the Election Commission to engage in an open debate with Gandhi instead of issuing rebuttals."I think instead of challenging, EC should debate with Rahul information we have gathered is from their website itself. I was surprised, to be honest, I had no doubts about the Election Commission," Pawar said here. "After that, I arranged a meeting with those people and Rahul Gandhi. The allegations, raised nine months after the Assembly elections results were announced, come amid Congress MP Rahul Gandhi alleging "vote chori" (vote theft) across the country, with the Election Commission of India (ECI) 'colluding' with the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Congress leader has also specifically raised concerns over the alleged addition of lakhs of voters in Maharashtra just months before the state polls in 2024, alleging the votes helped the Mahayuti coalition come into power. At a press conference on August 7, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were "choreographed" by the EC to benefit the BJP, which he said appeared "immune to anti-incumbency." Citing internal analysis, Gandhi said the Congress expected to win 16 seats in Karnataka but ended up with only nine. He said the Congress investigated seven unexpected losses, zeroing in on Mahadevapura, where he alleged vote theft involving 1,00,250 votes.
