Carey Hart apologises to wife Pink for latest motorbike injury
Carey Hart has issued a formal apology to his wife, Pink, after sustaining a gruesome injury during motocross practice.
"A huge thanks to @pink," Hart wrote of his wife of nearly two decades. "As always does in these situations w/ me, she steps up and takes charge at the hospital."
"Sorry to put you through this, yet again," he added.
On Saturday, the former pro competitor, who has been dabbling in the sport again recently, revealed in an Instagram post that he had experienced a serious injury while practicing two days earlier.
"Welp, I ran out of talent," Hart kicked off the post. "I had a pretty nasty get-off, practicing Thursday morning. Landed off a jump, bars knifed, and took the bar to the gut while going over the bars."
"As I understand it, severed my small intestine from my colon," he continued in the post, which included several shots of him in the hospital, showing off his injury.
In one, Hart posed for a mirror selfie with several bandages on his torso, and in another, he revealed what's underneath them - more than 20 staples along a large gash in the middle of his abdomen.
Hart insisted he is currently doing "fine" and "will recover from this".

‘Race Across the World' star Sam Gardiner dead at 24
Former 'Race Across the World' contestant Sam Gardiner has died following a car crash. He was 24. Gardiner was behind the wheel of a white Volkswagen in Manchester, England, on Monday night when the vehicle left the roadway, overturned, and landed on its side, according to Greater Manchester Police. 'You kept asking about my bathwater after the @drsquatch ad … so we kept it,' Sweeney (Euphoria, The White Lotus season one) posted to her Instagram account on Thursday. Called 'Sydney's Bathwater Bliss,' the bricc (what Dr. Squatch calls its soap bars) is a 'very real, very limited-edition soap made with my actual bathwater,' Sweeney wrote.
