Sabrina Bartlett is engaged! Bridgerton actress flashes diamond ring as she announces she's set to marry businessman Lachie Stewart

Daily Mail12-05-2025

She played lovelorn opera star Siena Russo in Netflix 's Bridgerton, after her doomed affair with a Viscount in regency London.
But in real life, Sabrina Bartlett, 33, is enjoying true romance, as she is now engaged to her boyfriend, Australian businessman Lachie Stewart.
The actress shared a photo on social media of herself and Lachie at the premiere of David Attenborough 's new environmental film, Ocean, earlier this week.
Resplendent in an aquamarine gown, eagle eyed fans spotted the flash of a spectacular solitaire diamond on Sabrina's left hand.
Now, she has announced her engagement on Instagram, with a photo of herself and her beau on holiday in Australia as she flashed her ring.
She captioned the update: 'Lach'd in' followed by a ring emoji, amid a slew of congratulatory comments.
No doubt the London-born star is delighted to have found the one, after her relationship with actor Tom Greaves ended in 2021 and prompted her to move back into her parents' seaside home in Kent.
The couple who were together for three years, shared a flat together in East London, but broke up after Tom, best known for his role in the 2018 Peter Rabbit film, had reportedly 'moved on.'
At the time, a source told the Daily Mail's Katie Hind that they had been, 'very much in love' but added: 'He is ten years older. Things just didn't work out. She is living with her parents while Tom has moved on.'
Sabrina first came to public attention after she signed up to play Mariette Larkin, the role that launched film star Catherine Zeta Jones's career, in a remake of nostalgic ITV drama, The Darling Buds of May based on the 1958 H.E Bates novel.
Speaking ahead of the series launch in 2022, the actress gushed about the love fest on set, she said: 'I felt very at home with everybody, sort of like falling down the rabbit hole and having a family overnight.
'After such a hard year for everybody, I think even being on set at all was such a privilege.'
But it seems that such happy days were fleeting, after Sabrina, who starred alongside Bradley Walsh and Joanna Scanlan as Ma and Pop Larkin, quit the show after one series, following an onset disagreement.
At the time, her publicist told the Daily Mail that the star was leaving due to 'scheduling issues' but sources claim that her decision was driven by a clash with her co-star.
Indeed, the disagreement, which was described as 'sensitive' also sparked her move to part company from top agent Independent Talent Group, who had secured the career-boosting ITV contract.
Sabrina was said to have made a complaint about her co-star Tok Stephen's behaviour in a scenario that gave the network a 'big headache' after her grievances were not upheld following an investigation.
She then decided to quit before the second series, leaving Tok to continue in his role as the Larkins lodger, Cedric, Charley Charlton, portrayed by veteran actor Philip Franks in the original.
Sabrina was eventually replaced by Emmerdale actress Joelle Rae, who continued in the role of Mariette where she had left off.
But in early 2023 it was announced that ITV had plumped to axe the show once and for all, which insiders attribute to an active strategy to move on from the controversy surrounding Sabrina's exit.
The series downfall put an end to ITV's big plan to recapture the magic of the original drama The Darling buds of May, which was a major hit in the 90s, starring Sir David Jason and Oscar winning actress, Catherine Zeta Jones.
Indeed the reboot also failed to cast its spell on the viewers, after just 2.9 tuned in for the second series compared to the first episode which aired in 2021 with 4.8 million.
Having previously enjoyed roles in the ITV drama Victoria and Netflix's Bridgerton; she can now be seen in drama I Jack Wright on Sky.

Katie Price faces wait over further bankruptcy-related proceedings

Katie Price faces a wait to see whether more of her income will go directly towards paying off money owed under her two bankruptcies. The former glamour model was declared bankrupt in November 2019 and again in March last year, and the bankruptcies have since been discharged. However, Price, who did not attend the hearing and was not represented, still owes money as a result of the bankruptcies, and she had previously reached a voluntary agreement over her debts. On Friday, barrister Darragh Connell, representing trustees, told a specialist court in London she has not paid the £12,500 a month. He asked Insolvency and Companies Court Judge Sebastian Prentis to make an income payments order, which means money would go from any salary towards Price's outstanding debt. The order relates to 10 companies. However, the judge asked for more evidence to be provided to the court about Price's 'reasonable domestic needs'. Last August, a judge ruled that Price's income from social media platform TikTok be suspended as part of efforts to pay off her debts. And in February last year, a judge at a specialist bankruptcy court ordered that she must pay 40% of her monthly income from the adult entertainment website OnlyFans until February 2027. The next hearing will take place later in the year, on a date to be confirmed.

Sir David Attenborough writes back to Pembrokeshire five-year-old

A five-year-old boy's dream came true when he received a letter from his hero, Sir David Evans-Browning from Neyland, Pembrokeshire, drew 99 animals to mark the renowned British biologist's 99th endeavours reached "far and wide" and even caught the attention of Sir David receiving a reply, Max's mum Samantha said he was "doing little flips" on the bed in excitement. "It's literally been a month and I was starting to think we weren't going to get anything," she when Samantha arrived home on Thursday she found a letter which was addressed to Max."When I picked him up, I acted really casual," she she gave him the letter, she said his eyes immediately went to Sir David's printed name at the bottom."He can read really well, and he saw the name."He was doing little flips on the bed and shouting that his card had been in David Attenborough's hands. It was the reaction that I wanted."Trying to get him to sleep then was an absolute nightmare."Samantha said they would be framing the letter - in which Sir David wrote he "greatly enjoyed" seeing Max's drawings - and hanging it "pride of place" in Max's animal-themed bedroom."It was so nice that he had hand-written the whole thing. It made that bit more special." She said the reaction from the media and public since she shared Max's drawings had been overwhelming."People have been so nice, we've seen all the comments and I'm making Max a photo book of them."When he watches David Attenborough, of course it's all around the world [so] he couldn't get over how many people from different countries could see [his drawings]."We're usually quite a private family, but I knew there could be somebody who knew where I could send it, and it just went a little bit mad. He's gone a little bit famous."He couldn't believe it."Samantha added Max can sometimes lack confidence in his drawing, but the experience had been really good for improving that and had reaffirmed his desire to be "the next David Attenborough"."Obviously we are proud of him, but it's just been nice for him to realise all those people who don't know him have made the effort as well."It's boosted him even more."
