Square Enix
In a post on the official Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link X (formerly Twitter) account, developer Square Enix revealed that it has cancelled the development and release of the mobile game. The developer said that it had been hard at work trying to adjust the game to account for player feedback, but ultimately concluded that it would be difficult to provide a product that lived up to the standards expected from players.
We have made the decision to cancel the development of KINGDOM HEARTS Missing-Link.
We wish to convey our heartfelt apologies to everyone who has been looking forward to the start of service.
Although we worked hard on developing and adjusting the game in the hope that it would be enjoyed by lots of players, we determined that it would be difficult for us to offer a service that players would find satisfactory over a long period of time, leading us to the decision to cancel development.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to everyone who gave us their support and assistance with the multiple closed beta tests. We are truly sorry to have to make this announcement.
The KINGDOM HEARTS series will continue. We are hard at work on KINGDOM HEARTS IV, and hope you'll continue to support the series as you keep an eye out for further updates.

The company ended its message by confirming that Kingdom Hearts 4, the next main game in the series, is still in active development, though it stopped short of giving any more details about the game. Kingdom Hearts 4 was first confirmed to be in development in 2022, and few details have been revealed about the game since its announcement.
Spinoff game Missing-Link was supposed to introduce characters and concepts that would lead into Kingdom Hearts 4, and it's currently unknown whether or not that content will be incorporated into other games following its cancellation.
Missing-Link itself was a game for Android and iOS that was split up into two sections, exploration and combat. The exploration aspect of the game would see players exploring real-world locations, which were represented with a map in-game like Pokémon Go, while combat sections played similarly to the main series. The game also featured loot boxes filled with character trophies based on Disney properties, which would give abilities to the player character and could be upgraded over time.
No release date has been set for Kingdom Hearts 4.

James Gunn Drops Major Hint at Margot Robbie Returning to DCU
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors James Gunn and Peter Safran are currently busy building the DCU, which will consist of live-action films, animated and live-action shows, and video games. Gunn has already released "Superman," which became a massive hit. More news: Paramount Confirms New 'TMNT' Live-Action Film is in Development "Superman" was not Gunn's first foray into the DCU, as he was tasked with rebooting "The Suicide Squad," which featured characters from the original DC film, "Suicide Squad," but were all mostly killed off in the first 10 minutes. One of the biggest holdovers from the previous DC Universe is Margot Robbie, who portrayed Harley Quinn. It is no secret that Robbie became an instant fan-favorite, and fans have been clamoring for her return in Gunn's new DCU. Gunn finally addressed the situation in a big way, hinting at Robbie potentially returning as Quinn. In a feature from Entertainment Weekly, Gunn divulged a small, yet not-so-subtle hint about Harley Quinn making a return. Pictures & DC Comics More news: 'Nobody 2' Reviews Are Overwhelmingly One-Sided "That will be revealed down the line," Gunn tells Entertainment Weekly. Gunn did not state that Robbie won't return as Quinn, which is the general case for the filmmaker. Whenever a fan asks about a specific plot point or character, Gunn is no stranger to offering a direct answer. Gunn has shot down rumors plenty, but this time, he chose not to state outright that Robbie would not return. It would be believed that she could return as Quinn in some capacity. Gunn also revealed that he has been trying to find a way to bring back fellow fan-favorite, Idris Elba. Elba portrayed Bloodsport in "The Suicide Squad" and also became an instant hit. Bloodsport, being an assassin who has a change of heart and becomes a hero, while also having a deep rat phobia, was fantastic. "I definitely am always looking for a place to put Bloodsport and figuring that out," Gunn says of Idris Elba's ruthless mercenary from the 2021 sequel. "So we'll see what happens." Gunn is reportedly working on the sequel to "Superman," but there are also "Lanterns" and "Supergirl" coming down the pipeline. Both the series and film could feature more DCU characters, which would make a lot of sense. "Peacemaker" season 2 is also set for release later this month, and would be a place where Quinn or Bloodsport could make an appearance. For more movie news, head to Newsweek Movies.

Diane Von Furstenberg Expands Line And Unveils New Campaign
A look from the new Diane Von Furstenberg denim collection. Photo Courtesy of Diane Von Furstenberg Not many designers can boast that even their most iconic designs could end up on the cover of a national news magazine. Yet that is precisely where Diane Von Furstenberg's famous wrap dress was in 1976 when it appeared on Newsweek. The dress that debuted 52 years ago was revolutionary not only for its simple and chic design but for how it met the moment for the lives of modern women juggling work outside of the home for the first time en masse. Now, over half a century later, the brand, which has expanded its offerings to fit many cosmopolitan women's wardrobe needs, is evolving further with the addition of a denim collection. Additionally, launching in time for the Fall 2025 collection is a new campaign that harkens back to a young Diane Von Furstenberg. Directed by creative director Nathan Jenden, who has been with the brand in various stints since 2001 and returned in early 2024 after a three-year hiatus, the denim collection offers a festive floral print, structured dark denim, and expands beyond typical jean silhouettes such as five-pocket and original Levi-inspired jackets. A denim jacket dress from the new Diane Von Furstenberg Photo Courtesy of Diane Von Furstenberg Highlights include the printed and ruffled Luisa slip dress, the printed and tailored Blair jacket and coordinating pants for the Canadian tuxedo look, the ruffled Nicky blouse, and the white braided-waistband patch pocket jeans. In dark denim, the Michele jumpsuit in denim knit is inspired by Diane's Studio 54 days, another style is a double-breasted jacket dress, and a fit and flare bustier dress. For the Fall 2025 season, the brand tapped model Ansley Gulielmi for a series of images styled by Emma Wyman and shot in New York City by Brianna Capozzi, who has shot campaigns for the brand Pinko and celebrities such as A$AP Rocky, Indya Moore, and Selena Gomez. These images and Gulielmi bear an uncanny resemblance to DVF in the 1970s, a la her Studio 54 and Andy Warhol portrait days. Another picture of the model lounging recalls a memorable photo of the designer sprawled across her bed, which features a curved sunburst pattern, in a room swathed in florals, lace, and a leopard print rug. Key styles include knitted jacquard suiting and reversible coats lined with faux fur, satin pants, tweed suits, and modern pinstripes on chiffon. Prints, a brand signature, and textures include lace, mesh tulle, plaid, and the Ginkgo Fan print, which returns in a neutral, muted tone. Trompe l'oeil silhouettes merge chiffon skirts with matte jersey bodices, giving the illusion of separates in a single piece. The Virginia Blazer dress returns, as does the tailored DVF shirtdress. Tie neck details meet chiffon dresses, and a smoking jacket appears in satin and printed knit for occasion dressing, with sequin pieces, organza, and hand beading offering additional options. An image form the Fall 2025 Diane Von Furstenberg campaign. Photo Courtesy of Diane Von Furstenberg While the brand may be looking ahead to the fall season, before summer ends, the company will host its annual DVF Awards in Venice on August 28th. The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation founded The DVF Awards in 2010 to recognize, support, and amplify the voices of extraordinary women who are dedicated to improving the lives of other women who tackle a variety of issues, from combating climate change and immigration to fighting human trafficking, promoting gender equality, and preventing violence against women. .

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors Skydance-Paramount has already gotten off to a massive start, as the company held a call where grand plans for the upcoming film slate heading into 2026 have been revealed. A shot from the 1991 "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secret of the Ooze" film. Paramount To excite TMNT fans even more, Paramount also revealed that the studio is actively developing another beloved storyline in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle universe. There have been rumors that the smash hit comic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" was set to be developed into a film, and now that has been confirmed. In fact, Paramount will be turning the story into the first live-action TMNT film since Michael Bay's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" was released in 2016. Both the original Bay-produced live-action reboot films were critically panned and criticized by audiences alike. Now, Paramount is moving forward with "The Last Ronin," which was shared by Deadline. "They also have a live-action version based on the graphic novel that has Walter Hamada producing," the report reads. Fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles became enamored with "The Last Ronin," mainly due to the dark storyline and the fact that TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman wrote the story alongside Tom Waltz. The story itself was devised in the 1980s with Eastman and co-creator Peter Laird writing it, which was then punched up with Eastman and Waltz, and then released in 2020. Read more: Exclusive: TMNT Co-Creator Kevin Eastman Reflects on 40 Years of Turtle Power Since the release of "The Last Ronin" comic, Eastman and Waltz have released "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin - Lost Years," which is a prequel released in 2023, and the sequel series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II - Re-Evolution," which was released in 2024. Eastman spoke to Newsweek in an exclusive interview, where he revealed that a third chapter in "The Last Ronin" story will also be released in 2026. "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin" also has a video game adaptation in the works, but there has not been much news on that front. For now, fans can be elated over the fact that the beloved Eastman story is being turned into a live-action film. For more movie news, head to Newsweek Movies.
