Krishna Shroff joins reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon to embrace village life, connect with a wider audience, showcase her individuality, and adapt to rural challenges.
Krishna Shroff is ready to swap city lights for village life, and she's doing it in full spirit. The fitness entrepreneur and media personality is stepping into a world far removed from her glamorous Instagram feed as one of the contestants on the upcoming reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Krishna says she's all set to embrace the chaos and connect with a wider audience.
'It's a different show and it's a great way for me to connect to people," Krishna tells us, adding, 'You see a very small part of who I am on that platform. So I'm looking forward to showing people more aspects of my personality and who I truly am as a person. I think that'll make me more relatable to a wider audience."
But Krishna isn't going in trying to blend in, she's counting on her individuality to shine. 'I'm very different compared to the other women on the show as well. And I think that's my USP and that's my strength. I embrace that uniqueness and that's what makes me interesting."
When asked what sets her apart, she laughs and says, 'I mean, can I say, look at me? But honestly, I do look different. I sound different. I speak different. That's just one aspect. The deeper you get to know me, you'll realise there are so many more things about me that make me an individual for a reason."

Adapting to rural life, though, comes with its challenges especially for someone used to a plush lifestyle. 'I don't like sharing bathrooms, honestly," she confesses. 'I think there are 11 or 12 of us. As long as the girls are hygienic and keep it clean, I'm okay. Beyond that, everything else, the lifestyle switch, the change, is something I'm going to try to embrace. I signed up for this. Once I set my mind to something, I don't just go as an observer. I go as a learner," she adds.
Krishna admits she hasn't lived in a village before, though she has visited her family's farmhouse. 'It's very different from what I'm expecting. But I have interacted with villagers near our farmhouse. They're amazing people, used to the simple life. I think there's so much I can learn from them, and maybe something I can teach them too," she explains.
She also firmly believes the show will not be scripted. 'That's one of the reasons it intrigued me. They're taking these strong women and putting them in a completely foreign environment. The reactions can only be real. There's no way you can script that."

Of course, family reactions were mixed. 'They're used to me doing some crazy things. I'm a little bit of the black sheep of the family. My dad's very excited. My brother keeps asking if I'm sure, because he knows how much I love my comfort. For my mom, it's more about being apart for so long. We're best friends, so this will be hard."
And did dad Jackie Shroff offer any survival tips? 'Oh yes", she says, further stating, 'He's given me a full book. He even asked me to come to the farm to practice different things. But I told him, I think it'll be more fun to just go there and experience it firsthand—with an open mind and heart."
Asked if Khatron Ke Khiladi opened doors for her, Krishna asserts, 'I think it also just made me realise my capabilities and for me how comfortable I am in the reality space. I love the non-fiction space. I'm so comfortable being able to play just me and be who I am and put all of me out there for audiences to know and I think you know I've been so private and behind the scenes in general but the love and the admiration and the support that I've received is you know it's it motivates me to do this and it's a way for me to be able to give back to those people that support me."
Krishna Shroff doesn't want to get into acting like her father and brother. She says, 'For me, I have to do things that I truly feel passionate about and things that resonate to me. Being able to be myself and just be who I am for people to see is a lot more exciting than playing a character. And also, being an actor is such a skill. It takes a lot of practice, a lot of training. It's not just like someone can wake up tomorrow and say, I want to act and be able to do it. It's a very serious and difficult profession and not everyone can do it. And at the end of the day, I'm very aware of my strengths and my weaknesses and I play to that."
When asked what does she think of her brother and father's acting skills, Krishna answers, 'The only movie I watch is theirs. My dad, I think he's the finest actor today. People will probably say that I'm saying it because he's my father, but I believe it genuinely. You know, the way he's able to portray characters and bring himself into his characters to make it so authentic and natural and not put on is commendable. My brother, of course, has been able to do in such a difficult industry to break into in such a short amount of time. I have nothing but respect and admiration for both of them. To be honest, they're my motivation and they inspire me to get out of my comfort zone and do something for myself."

Krishna is someone who has lived in luxury all her life. When asked if there was a time when she ran out of money, she said, 'I've always loved money. Even back in the day, I remember in school, I would still be in school, but I would want to coach kids after school in basketball or football. And just make a dollar or two here and there. But I think at the end of the day, I don't know if this sounds materialistic or not, but money is power to me. And whether I have it or not, I'll always do something to make sure that I'm able to get it myself. If it's not something that's given to me or I already have. Because I feel like I want to be able to live life the way I choose to. And I don't want to have to dependent on anyone for that. It's a very empowering feeling as a woman today to not be able to depend on a man or anything like that, but to just solely be you and hold your own. And it's something that I do chase and I do continue to chase."

Taylor Barnard proud to have had a shot at Formula E runner-up: 'One weekend doesn't define the year we've had'

Taylor Barnard (Image credit: Instagram) It was Taylor Barnard's rookie season this year, and the NEOM McLaren driver put up a fantastic performance by temporarily making it to the top three in the Formula E Driver Standings by ousting the much more experienced Porsche driver Antonio Felix Da Costa. He was, however, ousted from the top three at the London E-Prix as Jaguar's Nick Cassidy went on to register three consecutive wins. Barnard took to Instagram to share his feelings on losing out on the top three in his first-ever season and his claim to the championship. Taylor Barnard on losing top three spot in Formula E World Championship Taking to Instagram after the London E-Prix, Barnard wrote, 'London wasn't what we hoped for, easily being the toughest weekend of our season. Taking 0 points away as a team from a doubleheader hurts, but one weekend doesn't define the year we've had.' He further wrote, 'As the season closes, I want to say a massive thank you to the entire team, both trackside and behind the scenes, for everything this season. Finishing P4 in the Drivers' Championship and coming into the final weekend with a shot at runner-up is something to be proud of.' Also adding a note for teammate Sam Bird, as NEOM McLaren withdrew from Formula E after the end of the season, Barnard wrote, '@sambird_official it wasn't the weekend you deserved either. You've been a huge part of my season both on and off the track, and I'm grateful for everything. You deserved more. To all the Papaya fans, thank you for the incredible support in our final race together. You always go above and beyond. ' Fans hail Taylor Barnard for his fantastic rookie season Reacting to his post, a fan wrote, 'An incredible debut season, huge congrats and excited to see where you go next!' Another said, 'I know I said it the other day, but you've been incredible to watch this last year and a pleasure to support you in Papaya — there are many of us that can't wait to support you in whatever you do next!' One more commented, 'You were incredible all season around, Taylor. Massive congratulations. You are the future of this sport.'
