Prince Al-Faisal Rules Out Saudi-Israeli Normalization, Calls Netanyahu 'Genocidal Criminal'

Former head of Saudi intelligence, Prince Turki al-Faisal described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as 'a criminal and deranged,' adding: 'How can anyone expect Saudi Arabia to normalize with a genocidal criminal or madman like Mr. Netanyahu?' — in reference to the fact that Saudi Arabia will not pursue normalization under the 'current situation' without respect for international law or the Arab Peace Initiative. In the interview conducted by anchor Christiane Amanpour, Turki Al-Faisal appeared clearly focused on the need to respect international legitimacy. He affirmed that the Arab Peace Initiative is based on United Nations resolutions, and that normalization cannot take place before these commitments are fulfilled. He also addressed what he described as 'the biblical grand picture of Israel,' saying that insistence on this geographic vision — from the Nile to the Euphrates — raises questions about the true intentions, whether they are for peace or for regional imperialism. He noted that Netanyahu 'may seek to occupy areas beyond Palestine, including Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Egypt.'
