Unexpected rains hit Cairo and Giza, amidst searing heatwave
Meteorological experts had previously confirmed that Tuesday would see high temperatures continue across most regions, with very hot and humid weather during the day. Northern coastal areas were expected to be milder but still humid, while nights and early mornings would remain moderately warm.
The Director General of Forecasts and Early Warning for Weather Risks at the Meteorological Authority, Mahmoud Shahin, told Youm7 that increased humidity today would make the actual temperatures feel two-three degrees Celsius higher.
He also predicted misty fog forming between four am and eight am in areas stretching from northern Egypt to Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, Canal Cities, and central Sinai.
Shahin anticipated disruptions in maritime navigation along parts of the coasts of Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, and Beheira Governorate.
Wind speeds are expected to range from 50 to 70 km/h, with waves reaching heights of two to 3.5 meters.
This unusual weather phenomenon is part of the climatic fluctuations currently affecting the country during this time of year, where high temperatures coincide with rainfall.
This combination necessitates caution from citizens, especially when driving in misty conditions.

Cairo to See 38 Degrees on Sunday as Heat Intensifies Across Egypt
H-Tayea Egypt's Meteorological Authority has forecast another rise in temperatures across the country on Sunday, with hot and humid conditions dominating most regions. It added that Cairo is expected to reach 38°C, while Upper Egypt will see extreme highs of 44°C in Qena and Aswan. According to Mahmoud Shaheen, Director of Forecasting and Early Warning at the Meteorological Authority, low to medium clouds will appear over parts of northern Egypt, extending to Greater Cairo. Morning fog is likely from 8:00 to 8:40 a.m. in northern areas, including Greater Cairo, and could be dense at times, particularly on roads leading to and from the northern coast, the Nile Delta, Central Sinai, and the Suez Canal cities. Humidity levels are expected to rise, making the air feel 2 to 4 degrees hotter than actual shade temperatures. The Red Sea and Gulf of Suez will experience rough maritime conditions, with wind speeds between 40–60 km/h and waves reaching 2–3 meters. There is also a chance of light to moderate rainfall, occasionally accompanied by thunder, over parts of Central and South Sinai. Temperatures to rise once more across Egypt starting on Saturday
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned that temperatures will rise across the country starting on Saturday, ending the truce of mild summer weather. The apparent temperature in Cairo is expected to reach 39C during daytime hours next Monday, rising to 45C in the governorates of southern Upper Egypt. The EMA further warned of increased relative humidity, significantly influencing the severity of the hot weather. The country is currently witnessing significant increases in relative humidity, extending to large areas of the country's northern sector. Humidity also contributes to the formation of mist during the late night and early morning hours on water bodies, agricultural lands, and open roads, with light fog. Wednesday's weather The EMA expects hot and humid weather to prevail during the day across most parts of the country on Wednesday, with very hot and humid weather in South Sinai and the south of the country, becoming slightly less hot and humid at night and in the early morning. According to the EMA, the higher humidity levels will increase the sensation of heat by two to four degrees Celsius.
