Ethan Burg commits to Tennessee basketball, Rick Barnes after playing as pro in Israel
The Israeli guard is expected to have multiple years of eligibility, but the number is not settled as the process is ongoing. Burg spent the past two seasons playing professionally in Israel, which affects how many years of NCAA eligibility he will have.
Burg announced his commitment on social media on July 18.
The 6-foot-3 guard played the past two seasons with Bnei PenLink Herzliya in Israel. He averaged 11 points, shooting 32.9% on 3-pointers. The 22-year-old shot 37.6% on 3-pointers last season, while averaging 11.1 points.
Burg visited Tennessee in late June.
Tennessee has all 15 spots accounted for on its roster.
The Vols return senior forward Felix Okpara, junior forwards Cade Phillips and JP Estrella and sophomore guard Bishop Boswell.
The Vols added senior guards Ja'Kobi Gillespie and Amaree Abram along with junior forward Jaylen Carey through the transfer portal.

UT signed five players in the 2025 class, which ranked No. 13 nationally.
Five-star prospect Nate Ament is the highest-ranked recruit in program history as the No. 4 recruit nationally. Tennessee signed four-star forward DeWayne Brown II and four-star guard Amari Evans in November. Three-star guard Troy Henderson signed in April. Henderson and Ament played AAU basketball together with Team Loaded 17U. French guard Clarence Massmaba signed with UT in late April.
Guards Grant Hurst and Campbell Duncan round out the roster.

Everton manager David Moyes has warned that time is 'running out' for his club to get signings through the door as he seeks to rebuild his squad to challenge in the Premier League this season. During a press conference in Chicago on Tuesday before their Premier League Summer Series game against West Ham, Moyes reiterated that Everton were 'hoping to have done more business' by now and said 'we're just stalling a little bit in some departments.' He said: 'The truth is we are not getting them over the line at the moment, so that's a fact. We're not getting a lot of the deals done that we were hoping to do, we're continually reassessing and moving on if things are not coming to fruition. So we will keep doing it and we'll keep trying to get the best players as we can. We want to challenge ourselves to get good players if that is possible, and we're trying to do that but we're finding it quite difficult.' Asked if he had been surprised by the setbacks, Moyes said: 'My first thought was 'yes, I was surprised' because Everton is such a big club. Great traditions, what the club has stood for over the years, the new stadium is an exciting new move for us. But then you have another thought and you think again — 'we have been around the relegation positions the last five years and not far off the bottom.' We're all desperate to give the supporters something again. Let's hope we can pull it together for them and get them a team to be proud of by the start of the season.' We are having a bit of a struggle getting ones in quickly enough, but we're trying to do players who could give us a chance of challenging to be one of those teams in Europe.' Asked by The Athletic if the —issue in getting players into the club is external or internal, he said: 'We want to get it done. I don't know if I can answer your question as clearly as that. We're desperate to get everything moving on, we know that time's running out, we've probably had five weeks, six weeks certainly, probably more since the end of last season. We got to start getting moving on because it will not be long till the window starts to get a bit closer to the end.' He added: 'Hopefully things will start to fall into the place. We are just beginning (to think) 'my goodness we are just not getting enough over the line.' We are actively working on it. It's not like we are a club waiting to sell a player in order to bring ones in. We are actually in the market. I would like to say it's a big pot of money because that would be great thing for Everton. But that is not really the situation. What we do have is money to spend but we have to spend it wisely.' Moyes, who declined to comment on reported interest in Manchester City's Jack Grealish, also urged caution about new full-back Aznou. He said: 'This boy's a young boy. Maybe not quite ready yet, but we hope he will be shortly. We see a lot of good things in him, technically very good, he is athletic. He might just need a little bit to get himself built up and ready for the Premier League so. Chelsea close to 2026 agreement with Strasbourg's Emanuel Emegha
Chelsea are closing in on an agreement on personal terms with Strasbourg centre-forward Emanuel Emegha (22) for a move to the Blues next summer, according to French media . The 22-year-old had a remarkable breakthrough season with Liam Rosenior's Alsatians last season. The Sparta Rotterdam youth product logged 14 goals and three assists in 27 Ligue 1 games. With Habib Diarra and Andrey Santos both departed, respectively to Sunderland and parent club Chelsea, Emegha has been appointed Strasbourg captain, despite being only 22. But next season could very well be Emegha's final campaign at La Meinau. An agreement is reportedly in the works for Emegha to join Chelsea from the 2026-2027 season onwards.
