Chris Martin, 48, showed his support for ex Dakota Johnson, 35, during a Coldplay concert in Las Vegas on Friday, June 6
The 'Clocks' singer encouraged the audience to go see Johnson's new movie, Materialists, during the show's closing
On June 4, PEOPLE confirmed that the couple had split after eight years togetherChris Martin showed his support for ex Dakota Johnson during a recent concert.
A concertgoer named Jasmin shared footage of the moment on TikTok from a Coldplay concert in Las Vegas on Friday, June 6. In the video — which has since garnered more than a million views — Martin, 48, can be seen at the end of the show, fullheartedly thanking the giant crowd.
'Thank you, everybody! Be kind to each other!' Martin said into the mic.
He then added, 'Don't forget to go see Materialists!'
The 'Clocks' singer was referring to the new romantic comedy starring Johnson. In Materialists, which premieres on June 13, Johnson, 35, plays a New York City matchmaker who becomes torn between a new potential love (Pedro Pascal) and a messy ex (Chris Evans).
PEOPLE reached out to representatives for both Martin and Johnson for comment on Sunday, June 8, but did not receive an immediate response.

On June 4, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Martin and Johnson had ended their nearly eight-year relationship.
"It feels final this time," a source said of the split.
The pair, who were first romantically linked in 2017, were photographed together last month when they stepped out in Malibu, California, on May 16. Before that, in January, the pair held hands in India, where Martin was touring with his band.
In March 2024, an insider told PEOPLE that Johnson and Martin had actually been engaged for 'years' after first sparking engagement rumors in 2020, though they were "in no rush to get married" at the time.

When breakup rumors bubbled up in August 2024, a rep for the actress shut down the claims and said the pair were "happily together." Around the same time, a source said, "Sure, they've had issues and taken breaks in the past, but things are great now. They both love their careers. They are balancing things the best they can."
It seems that Martin isn't the only person staying on good terms with Johnson after their split.
A source previously told PEOPLE that Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, plans to stay close to Johnson, revealing that they 'developed a close friendship' over the years. The Goop founder, 52, 'fully intends on maintaining that bond,' despite Johnson's split from the Coldplay singer, a source said.
'There's a genuine mutual respect between Gwyneth and Dakota, and they have a lot in common,' the source added. 'They both grew up in the spotlight, have been in the business for years, and really relate to each other's experiences.'

Martin, who is in the midst of a world tour with Coldplay, is scheduled to perform next in Denver on June 10. Johnson, meanwhile, is currently making the rounds promoting her new movie.

Dog Chasing Squirrels 'All Her Life' Finally Gets a Chance, Unexpected Twist
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog's attempt to catch a squirrel has gone viral, with viewers cracking up over the unexpected twist at the end. Avery Cross (@averyhcross), 20, shared the moment her pet nearly caught a squirrel after years of chasing them. In the footage captured by a security camera, the dog goes full throttle after the critter, which scrambles to escape through a gate. But just as it seems she might finally succeed, the dog simply stops to watch as the squirrel momentarily gets stuck, before slipping away. "My dog when she's been chasing squrriels all her life and never caught one and now has the chance to," Avery, from Texas, wrote in the video's on-screen text. In the caption, she added, "Like she's flung herself into the window before trying to catch one." For many dog owners, the scene is all too familiar. According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), dogs are naturally drawn to creatures like squirrels due to their prey drive—a deeply ingrained instinct from their wild ancestors. They chase squirrels, rabbits and even birds because it's a self-rewarding behavior; every chase is a little victory, even if they never make a catch. Still, while it may be entertaining, it's not always safe. As Pupford explains, allowing dogs to indulge in their prey drive can lead to dangerous situations, especially near roads or unfamiliar terrain. Training techniques like recall commands, redirection and impulse control can help reduce the urge to chase. TikTok viewers flooded Avery's video with comments, with many dog owners relating to the notion of chasing and not catching. "She's about the journey, not the squirrel murdering. Very mindful, very Demure," said Tyler Woerner. "She realize it was the chase that she was chasing afterall," another user wrote. One commenter shared a similar story: "We moved my German Shepherd to 18 acres after the suburbs for a year. he would chase the deer and they always took off and got away. one time... he ran full speed and it didn't run fast enough. he flew into it. they both fell and just looked at each other." "My Great Dane does this too he runs up on them like it's war and then he does nothing," posted Kara. A stock image showing a dog chasing a squirrel. They both got wiped out and he was so confused lmao." "My dog (she was a basset hound RIP) was the same with cats. Would always chase them and one day the cat didn't move, she didn't know what to do. She was mortified," wrote Phil. "She just wants to play! no violence in her heart, just fun to run. I imagine she'd be happy if the squirrel chased her back," said TikToker Kana. "It's only fun to chase. I don't want to eat one mom," quipped another user. Newsweek reached out to @averyhcross for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case.
