Strictly star calls in cops and almost quit show after crazed female stalker made ‘disgusting threats'

STRICTLY'S Chris Robshaw called in cops after being subjected to a terrifying campaign of harassment by a female stalker.
Pals close to the England rugby legend said he had been targeted by the woman after briefly meeting her twice during work events last year, with the initial abuse starting six months after meeting him.

He called in police after the woman threatened him with violence and spread false allegations about him and other people he worked with.
The woman, who The Sun is not naming, now appears on the National Police Wanted List.
She is understood to have left the country and is being sought by cops.
Those close to Chris, 39, who has two children with his wife, Opera singer Camilla Kerslake, said the BBC are aware of the ongoing issues and are supporting him.
A friend said: 'Chris almost turned down Strictly because of what this woman has been putting him and his family through.
'She's made some disgusting threats. It has been awful for them.
'Chris and Camilla have been told by the police they're not alone. This woman has form for what she's been doing to them and has done it to other people too.
'Chris and Camilla are just the latest victims in a string of lives she's tried to destroy.
'He only went ahead with Strictly for his son Wilding.
'He told his dad: 'I want mummy to laugh at your dancing'. So Chris bit the bullet and went for it.

'He was honest with the BBC from the start and they've been amazing.
'They are supporting him and are aware of everything that is going on.'
Chris, who retired from professional rugby in 2022, was announced as a contestant on Wednesday.
He will appear on the show alongside stars including EastEnders actress Balvinda Sopal.
Model Ellie Goldstein, footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Love Island star Dani Dyer when the series begins next month.
Those close to him revealed his ordeal started last July when he attended the same event as the woman.

She went on to make a series of disturbing and damning allegations about Chris and his wife Camilla, 39, as well as other people she worked with.

'He met this woman twice, very briefly, during work events and then she started telling all sorts of awful lies about him.
'He was never alone with her and they barely spoke so he's got no idea why she targeted him.
'The stuff she was coming up with was farcical. She then started calling companies Chris and Camilla were working with to tell them these made up lies. She is intent on trying to ruin Chris and Camilla's life. Her other victims are said to have struggled professionally, financially, and mentally.
'Chris warned police the minute his children were put into danger. This woman posted their address online and made really nasty threats against him and his family.'

Chris, pals said, later learned that the woman was known to police.
A source added: 'It's deeply frightening that no one has been able to stop her, she's fled the country, and has been clever to avoid arrest.
'They've been advised by their case officer that the minute this woman steps back onto UK soil, she will be arrested.'
The Sun understands the woman was arrested in December and released with a caution.
But those close to Chris said her harassment has continued and that the woman has now left the country.
A friend added: 'Chris and Camilla feel sorry for this woman as something clearly isn't right.

'They tried to ignore it for as long as they could but when it turned nasty and they felt threatened, they rightly told the police. Chris will always protect his family.
'It has been incredibly concerning for them.
'Her behaviour has been terrifying at times and they have spent time looking over their shoulders.'
Those close to Camilla and Chris said they believed the woman was trying to target Camilla too, despite never meeting her.
A source added: 'Camilla feels this woman is intent on trying to ruin her life too.
'Only recently, she auditioned for a huge show, and this woman managed to find out about it.

'Camilla was told that she had messaged those working at the company, to spread more false and damaging claims.
'What she is saying about Camilla and Chris is stomach churning.
'They're normally so strong but it pushed them into utter devastation.
'Their friends and family are rallying around them as they know how exhausting and upsetting it has been for them.
The Sun understands the BBC have worked with Chris to ensure his safety at all times.
A source added: 'Chris hates a fuss and never wants to put anyone out but he's grateful to how amazing the BBC have been with all of this.
'He wants to crack on with the competition and give it his best shot.
'Chris is doing this for his kids and just wants to make them proud.'
A spokesperson for Chris said: 'This is an ongoing police investigation, and therefore we are unable to comment at this time.
'Chris will not be commenting further.'

Fans of The Inbetweeners have been begging for a reunion of the Noughties comedy series since it came to an end in 2010—and some new photos have given everyone fresh hope. Starring Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison, The Inbetweeners became one of Channel 4's most successful shows of its era. Set in suburban southern England, The Inbetweeners focused on the hilarious and painfully awkward love lives (or lack thereof) of four ordinary boys in sixth form college. It ran for three seasons, produced 18 episodes in total, spawned two sequel films, and is still one of the most popular British comedy shows of all time. Such is the extent of its popularity in Britain that fans have begged for a reunion episode for 10 years now, following the release of The Inbetweeners Movie 2 in 2014. So, when one cast member took to Instagram with a cryptic post, it's safe to say he set the comments alight. On his social media, James teased that he and Joe are 'working on something', giving no further details to excited fans. The post was accompanied by a series of pictures of James and Joe, who dressed up in different outfits for a photoshoot and showed fans behind-the-scenes images of the get-together. Naturally, the comments section reacted anything but calmly to the post. MostlyEnders commented, 'Inbetweeners 3?' while Johnoo1992 demanded, 'We need an Inbetweeners reunion'. SkylarRossFelton said they 'couldn't wait' for a potential Inbetweeners 3, while JamesKeeleyy is also 'waiting' not-so patiently. Following the end of The Inbetweeners, stars Joe and James worked together on the sitcom White Gold, which followed a crew of window salesmen in 1980s Essex. White Gold ran for two seasons between 2017 and 2019 before it was axed by the BBC, with James admitting in 2020 he had no idea the show had been cancelled. Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Robshaw was forced to invest in top-of-the-range security to keep his family safe from the campaign of harassment by a female stalker over the past year. The former rugby player was one of the 15 celebrities to be announced for the BBC show last week, but it has since emerged he almost turned down the opportunity due to the situation. And now friends of the 39-year-old told the Mail about the toll it has taken on his wife, the opera singer Camilla Kerslake, on her mental health after she has been 'left scared to leave the house on her own with the kids'. Ms Kerslake, 37, shares Hunter, five, and 18-month-old Wilder, with her husband of seven years and a source close to the family said: 'Particularly when she was post-partum, she was petrified she wouldn't be able to outrun this individual. 'Normally she's unbreakable, the backbone of the family, but this has reduced her to a shell of the strong woman we all know. For Chris, watching this has been heartbreaking. 'They have invested in top-of-the-range security systems to keep the family safe.' While the identity of the stalker has not been revealed, it is known that the former Harlequins captain briefly met her twice at work events last year. Instead of asking for presents for her birthday, it can be revealed Ms Kerslake requested security upgrades to their Surrey mansion, which last year she gave OK magazine a guided tour of. The source continued: 'They've talked about the idea of a security guard dog because they love their animals but also Camilla especially, would feel more protected. 'It's heartbreaking that it's come to this but that's how seriously they are taking it. 'This stalker business is no joke. She's destroyed the lives of small business owners, families, and left others thousands of pounds out of pocket. 'The claims she makes are sickening, and some of her victims have been left struggling mentally after their ordeal.' Six months after meeting the woman, Mr Robshaw was then said to have been targeted by the woman, who proceeded to threaten violence and spread false allegations about him and his colleagues, after which he contacted the police. It is reported the woman, who is now on the National Police Wanted List, has fled the country and is being pursued by the police. This year's Strictly cast includes Love Island star Dani Dyer, Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn, Lioness Karen Carney, Lorraine Showbiz correspondent Ross King and influencer Ellie Goldstein, who made history when she became the first model with Down syndrome to cover British Vogue magazine. Rugby player Chris, Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis, YouTuber George Clarke, Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, The Apprentice star Tom Skinner and sportsman Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will also be taking to the Strictly ballroom next month. The BBC show has endured its fair share of controversy in recent months, with it alleged earlier this month that BBC had hired a law firm to probe allegations of drug taking by two individuals. One of the stars involved in the drugs probe was also suspected of drinking while working on the show after crew smelt alcohol on their breath. Wynne Evans, 53, who competed on the show in 2024, was also accused of inappropriate behaviour and forced to apologise for making an unacceptable sexual remark on stage at a press event, which led to him resigning from the Strictly tour. In 2023, actress Amanda Abbington, 51, complained about professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, 34, being 'unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean' during their rehearsals which she said caused her to quit midway through the season. And in the same year, former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott, 28, was left 'incredibly distressed' following her experience in the training room with Graziano Di Prima, 31, who admitted to kicking the documentary maker, resulting in his axing.
