This post-season berth is ASU's fifth NCAA appearance (2025, 2018, 2015, 2010 and 2006).
This will be a rematch as the Golden Rams' upset #1 Tampa in Albany during the regular season.
The winner of the ASU–UT matchup will face the winner of No. 5 Lynn University and No. 4 Mississippi College on Friday, May 16, at 5 p.m. ET.
Braves Bats. Despite the season-long offensive slump the Braves are experiencing; they find themselves at .500 (21 – 21) for the first time of the season. Following a 0 – 7 start to the 2025 season, the ATL has rebounded with a 21 – 14 record.
According to sportstalkatl.com, in the last seven games, the Braves have alternated one-run wins and one-run losses. This is the longest streak in MLB history.

The primary offensive bright spot in the line-up is third baseman Austin Riley who is batting .284. Braves Nation is counting on Ronald Acuna Jr. to provide an offensive spark once he returns from his injury.
The Braves' team offensive stats are borderline depressing.Batting Average: .237 (22nd in MLB)On-Base Percentage: Below averageSlugging Percentage: Below averageRuns Scored: 161 (21st in MLB)Home Runs: 43 (13th in MLB)Runners in Scoring Position (RISP): .230 (22nd in MLB)RISP with Two Outs: .188 (28th in MLB)Batting Average vs. Left-Handed Pitchers: .199 (28th in MLB)
ATL Gloves. I'm not saying this version of the Braves is championship caliber, but if defense wins championships, defensive play is keeping the Braves relevant.
The Braves' fielding percentage is .989. This stat is proficiency at fielding ground balls, making catches, and completing plays.

While the Braves are batting a disappointing .237, their pitching and defense is keeping their opponents to a paltry .232 batting average.
The Braves' pitching staff and defense have a .873 caught stealing percentage, so opponents are limited on stealing bags to improve their scoring odds.
Other relevant ATL defensive stats:Runs Allowed: The Braves have allowed 162 runs, placing them 21st in the league.Home Runs Allowed: They have allowed 48 home runs, placing them 22nd in the league.ERA: The Braves' ERA is 3.82, placing them 14th in the league
Braves fans continue to pull for their squad, hoping they begin playing to expectations.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw takes issue with Cardinals' pregame antics before start
Los Angeles Dodgers star Clayton Kershaw hurled a gem against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday as the team picked up a 7-3 victory. The veteran pitcher went five innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out seven. He only threw 82 pitches and picked up the first winning decision of the year. Kershaw expressed after the game he was a bit upset with the Cardinals going into the matchup. The Cardinals played Matt Adams' clutch home run off Kershaw in the 2014 National League Division Series on a loop before the game began at Busch Stadium. It wasn't Kershaw's finest moment for the Dodgers but the team playing the moment from more than 10 years ago appeared to irk the pitcher. "I think it's a little bush league, but I don't expect anything less from these guys. So, it's no worries," he told Kershaw was the National League MVP and Cy Young Award winner during the 2014 season. More than 10 years later, he's still going strong for the Dodgers though the expectations are a bit different. He's started five games this season for the Dodgers and has a 4.35 ERA with 15 strikeouts. He was last an All-Star in 2023. He missed most of the 2024 season with various injuries. Los Angeles improved to 39-27 with the win over St. Louis. The defending World Series champions a game ahead of the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants in the National League West division. Braves Predicted to Make Major Brian Snitker Decision Amid Latest Freefall
Braves Predicted to Make Major Brian Snitker Decision Amid Latest Freefall originally appeared on Athlon Sports. If Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker wants to finish out a disappointing season, it certainly sounds like he'll make it to Game 162. Advertisement As for 2026? Braves fans should expect to still see Snitker around Truist Park, albeit not in uniform. USA Today's Bob Nightengale reported on Sunday that Snitker's 'job appears to be safe for the remainder of the season' despite the Braves' 27-37 record. Atlanta has lost seven straight and entered Monday a shocking 14 games behind the New York Mets in the NL East. 'Snitker's contract expires after this year when he's expected to retire as manager and then move into a special assistant role,' Nightengale wrote. Atlanta Braves manager Brian SnitkerRobert Edwards-Imagn Images The Braves are 9 1/2 games out of the NL's third Wild Card spot, only two games better than the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates. Advertisement Nightengale did not name a potential successor for Snitker, who turns 70 in October. Bench coach Walt Weiss and third base coach Fredi González each have managerial experience, with González going 434-413 with the Braves from 2011-16. Elsewhere, Nightengale suggested former Miami Marlins manager Skip Schumaker is the favorite to replace Texas Rangers skipper Bruce Bochy if the four-time World Series champion retires. Other potential managerial candidates include Chicago Cubs bench coach Ryan Flaherty and ex-Baltimore Orioles skipper Brandon Hyde; Flaherty was recently linked to the Orioles' job. MLB Possibly Facing Unprecedented Tampa Bay Rays Stadium Decision
MLB Possibly Facing Unprecedented Tampa Bay Rays Stadium Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Here's a good hypothetical question: If the Tampa Bay Rays make this year's postseason, where would they play their home games? Advertisement If you answered with a blank stare or a confused shrug, don't feel bad. Apparently, Major League Baseball and the Rays would both have the same response. 'If the season ended today, they would be in the postseason,' USA Today's Bob Nightengale wrote of the 35-30 Rays, 'but with no idea where they'd play their home games.' Tampa Bay entered Monday in a three-way tie atop the AL Wild Card race. The Rays, Minnesota Twins, and Toronto Blue Jays are all 35-30, half a game ahead of the Cleveland Guardians. Unlike the Twins and Blue Jays, though, the Rays haven't played a single true home game. Instead, the Rays are spending the entire season at George M. Steinbrenner Field, the New York Yankees' spring training home, after Tropicana Field suffered extensive damage during Hurricane Milton. Steinbrenner Field in April 2025Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images Nightengale reported that MLB officials are 'optimistic' that the Rays will resume playing at the Trop next year, but that won't mean much come October. Advertisement Although Steinbrenner Field has done an adequate job thus far, it seems unlikely that Major League Baseball would permit postseason games in a stadium that barely fits 11,000 people. Petco Park in San Diego hosted the ALCS in 2020 amid the pandemic, while the NLCS and World Series were played at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. Ironically, the Rays played in both stadiums that October because they won the AL pennant. However, there is a significant difference between 11,000 fans attending a playoff game due to a global pandemic and 11,000 fans attending a playoff game because the stadium itself only holds that capacity. Los Angeles Dodgers fans cheers before game six of the 2020 World SeriesTim Heitman-Imagn Images Theoretically, the Rays could make the move down south and play any potential postseason home games at Marlins Park, given that the 24-39 Marlins are unlikely to make the playoffs. Advertisement It is unclear if Major League Baseball would consider relocating the Rays' playoff games to an out-of-state venue. Could the Rays attempt to clinch the AL pennant at, say, Truist Park in Atlanta? Whatever the case, all parties still have some time to figure things out. However, months will quickly become weeks, and at the Rays' current pace, the league would be wise to have a plan in place by mid-August.
