
Off-White to launch in India through new distribution deal
The manufacturer will be responsible for the distribution and retail of Off-White products in the men's, women's and kidswear ready-to-wear categories. Footwear, bags, wallets, belts, swimwear and other fashion accessories are also included in the contract.
Brand Concept is anticipated to launch Off-White's first collection in the region during the fourth quarter of the current financial year. The brand will become available via exclusive brand outlets, Modern Retail Outlets, select Lux e-commerce platforms and a direct-to-consumer website.
In a statement, Abhinav Kumar, co-founder of Brands Concept, said that the partnership with Sportlux was a 'landmark achievement' for the company.
Kumar continued: 'This isn't just about launching a brand; it's about introducing a cultural movement to the Indian market. The comprehensive product portfolio, from apparel to footwear and accessories, allows us to offer a complete Off-White experience.
'We are poised to leverage our retail expertise to build a powerful presence for Off-White and solidify our leadership in the premium and luxury fashion landscape in India."
For Brand Concepts, which already works with the likes of Aeropostale, Juicy Couture and Tommy Hilfiger Travel, the deal with Off-White marks an expansion into the luxury apparel segment. It comes at a time when more and more high-end fashion brands are zoning in on India as an emerging market, presenting vast potential for expansion.

Award-winning Indian restaurant opens new eatery in Scots seaside town

Located on Prestonpans' high street, Bombay Bar & Grill Restaurant had its first service yesterday (TUE). Located in the former historic pub known locally as 'The Goth', the new eatery's owners say they are bringing 'a new story' to the old pub's 'historic walls'. The team behind Bombay Bar & Grill have described their food as a 'culinary storm', offering a range of curries, seafood dishes, tandoori and grill dishes, sides and more. Bombay Bar & Grill has claimed that it will offer 'big flavours', 'bold cocktails' and 'unforgettable vibes'. Speaking about their first day, the team thanked everyone who visited. They said: 'Huge thanks to everyone who came along to the opening day of Bombay Bar & Grill, Prestonpans — you showed up hungry and made it a massive success (and yes, we're still recovering). 'We're just getting started…see you soon for round two.' Family-run Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant and takeaway Bombay Lounge has been based in Dalkeith since 2010. In 2024, it took home the Curry Restaurant of the year award at the Scottish Curry Awards. Last April, the Midlothian restaurant was recognised in the UK Parliament with a motion which celebrated its achievements. Scottish salmon survival hits record high after £1bn tech drive
Survival rates of farmed salmon in Scotland have hit record highs, driven by more than £1 billion of investment in technology and fish health. Latest figures show monthly survival averaged 99.12 per cent between January and June – the best start to a year since records began in 2018. The sector has channelled major funding into veterinary care, state-of-the-art freshwater treatment vessels, staff training, research, and advanced monitoring systems. The salmon sector has invested more than £1 billion in technology including advanced monitoring systems. The start to 2025 follows improvements seen last year, when the total number of fish deaths across farms fell by more than a third. Overall survival in 2024 was 82.3 per cent, compared with 72.3 per cent the previous year. Improved survival rates are also boosting the economic impact of Scottish salmon, which remains the UK's largest food export. Exports rose by 45 per cent to a record £844 million last year – equivalent to £2.31 million a day – while domestic sales grew 9.1 per cent to more than £1.2 billion in the year to June 2024. However, concerns remain over the uncertainty surrounding US trade policy under President Donald Trump. US tariffs are pushing rival producers to focus more on European markets, risking the UK's leading food export losing ground in its biggest overseas market.
