Emotional moment Tommy Fleetwood is consoled by his wife after shocking final round implosion lost him $3.6m
The 34-year-old missed out on his first victory on the PGA Tour in a spectacular collapse over the final three holes of TPC River Highlands at the Travelers Championship on Sunday.
The Olympic silver medalist held a three-shot lead on the first hole and briefly again on the 13th, but both times he was chased down by Keegan Bradley.
After being whittled down time and time again over the final round, Fleetwood's lead stood at just one shot as he and Bradley took to the 18th tee - only for the unthinkable to happen.
The Englishman walked off with a bogey five, the Team USA Ryder Cup captain a birdie and the victory.
The near-miss was devastating not only for its fashion but also for what it signified. Fleetwood now has 42 career top-10 finished on the PGA Tour without a victory to show for them.

And after being left 'gutted' once again, he sought a shoulder cry on in his wife Clare and family.
Clare, whom he married in 2017, waited by the clubhouse to comfort her husband alongside their seven-year-old son Frankie and one of his stepsons, Murray.
Little Frankie, who went viral for his adorable interview during the Par-3 Masters contest in April, immediately wrapped his arms around his dad's waist as Fleetwood patted his back in reassurance before placing a loving kiss on his head.
Clare, who appeared choked up, then leaned in to embrace her husband, pulling the golfer in for a tight squeeze.
Fleetwood had needed to two-putt from 50 feet to guarantee at least a play-off, but instead dragged a six-footer to bogey. Bradley, having been shown the line, then sank his from a fraction inside for birdie and a killer two-shot swing.
Instead, it was Bradley who cashed the staggering $3.6million winner's check in Cromwell, Connecticut. Not that Fleetwood pocketed pennies. He still walked away with $2,160,000 alongside tied-second finished Russell Henley.
It was Fleetwood's 159th start on the circuit and five times previously he had been a runner up and had a further five finishes in third.
He has seven victories under his belt in Europe but Stateside he has developed the undesirable of failing to get the job done.
'I am pretty gutted right now,' he admitted following the final round in Connecticut.
'Leading by one on the last and not even making a play-off is probably the worst way it can go. Gutted. I will just go home and start practising again.'

Cubs recall LHP Tom Cosgrove ahead of doubleheader
August 19 - Ahead of an attempt to play a doubleheader for the second consecutive day, the Chicago Cubs recalled left-hander Tom Cosgrove from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday and optioned left-hander Luke Little to Triple-A. In addition, right-hander Gavin Hollowell was optioned to Iowa. Hollowell, 27, was added as the 27th member of the roster for Monday's doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers that was reduced to one game because of inclement weather. He allowed four runs over two innings in a 7-0 loss to the Brewers in the one game that was played. Little, 24, was recalled Monday and also pitched two innings, while allowing one unearned run. In two appearances with the Cubs this season, Little has a 3.38 ERA in 2 2/3 innings. Cosgrove, 29, has a 2.25 ERA in two relief appearances with the Cubs this season. Food influencers hit by car while reviewing burgers
A pair of social media influencers have been hit by a car that crashed through a restaurant window as they made a video review. Nina Santiago and Patrick Blackwood were recording the social media content at CuVee's Culinary Creations in Houston, Texas, when the SUV smashed through the glass on Sunday. In a 30-minute video they posted on YouTube, the couple are seen picking up their sandwich sliders – small burgers – and taking a bite just as the car hits the restaurant. Glass shatters over their food before they are knocked to the floor. Mr Blackwood quickly gets up, grabs Ms Santiago's arm and moves them out of the way. Both escaped with minor cuts and bruises. Ms Santiago, who goes by the handle Nina Unrated, has nearly a million followers across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok. She also has an OnlyFans account and often posts videos of dance routines. Mr Blackwood has a much smaller following with his wellness and food content. They share a joint YouTube channel called Unrated EX Files where they visit different restaurants, order vast amounts of food and carry out 'taste tests'. Hospital footage Ms Santiago and Mr Blackwood also included clips from the hospital where they are seen with several cuts on their faces and arms. Ms Santiagio says to the camera that she has 'glass all over her body' and holds up her arm in a bandage. She later says her 'body feels tight' and her 'head hurts a little bit' as she prepares to have stitches. Mr Blackwood called the incident the 'most scariest s--- ever' and said he was 'blessed and grateful' to still be alive. Ms Santiago does not stop filming the pair as they leave the hospital – both wearing blue scrubs – and get into a car. Instead of going straight home, the couple first stop at the restaurant to pick up their car and take a video of the front of the building, with the window boarded up. The video ends with the two creators going back to CuVee's for lunch the following day where they quickly settle in and appear to enjoy their food.
