Irish Rail warning to Oasis fans ahead of Croke Park shows as trains selling out

Irish Rail is warning Oasis fans headed to Dublin for the Whatever hitmakers' run of Croke Park shows that many trains are already sold out ahead of the weekend.
While extra trains will be operating on intercity and DART lines, Irish Rail has warned that there is high demand across a number of routes this weekend, from Friday, August 15 to Sunday August 17.
Irish Rail warned that many trains on Intercity routes are already sold out on Friday, as well as for the Saturday and Sunday concert dates - with remaining tickets selling fast.
A spokesperson for Irish Rail said: "Iarnród Éireann is urging those planning to travel long distance for the gigs or other reasons to book their travel as soon as possible here or the Iarnród Éireann app, as tickets will not be available at Intercity stations on the day. Customers must travel on the specific train booked."
The company is also operating a number of extra Intercity trains as follows:
Saturday, August 16: 08.00 Cork to Dublin Heuston
10.15 Waterford to Dublin Heuston
00.30 Dublin Heuston to Galway (departs after midnight so check August 17 for ticket sales)
00.40 Dublin Heuston to Cork (departs after midnight so check August 17 for ticket sales) with connection at Limerick Junction for Limerick

On DART and Commuter routes, there will be extra trains before and after the concerts on the Maynooth line (serving Drumcondra Station directly), DART and Northern Commuter to cater for demand. Customers are encouraged to travel early and to expect trains to be busy. Alcohol is not permitted on any train services.
Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year.
However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot. Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly.
Elsewhere, resale sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats, StubHub and Twickets are selling tickets for various dates, although fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets.Meanwhile Seat Unique has some VIP tickets available offering a host of additional perks alongside access to the gig.

Irish Rail is clamping down on listening to music out loud (you could get a €100 fine)

IRISH RAIL HAS released new etiquette guidelines for people using their trains to try to make journeys 'as enjoyable as possible' for everyone on-board. It is cracking down on several issues, including listening to music or watching videos out loud, vaping on the train and putting feet or bags on empty seats. Speaking to The Journal , Irish Rail Communications Manager Barry Kenny said train inspectors 'have and will' issue penalties of €100 if passengers fail to follow these guidelines. The fines for these issues have already existed under the CIE Bye-Laws, but Irish Rail is highlighting them again in a new campaign as customers lodge complaints about 'nuisance behaviour' impacting their journeys. Kenny said: 'It's very much based on what our customers want. When you're travelling with us, you want to have an enjoyable journey.' The company has sent out a newsletter on the guidelines and will also post notices in train stations to advise passengers on what not to do while using the train. Advertisement Irish Rail etiquette guidelines: Keep seats clear – don't put feet or bags on empty seats, use earphones and keep the volume low, be aware when leaving the train or station; watch out for other passengers, vehicles and your surroundings, especially at busy times, dispose of litter properly, no smoking or vaping on trains or enclosed station areas, e-scooters, including foldable models, are not permitted on trains. 'It's about awareness and making sure everyone's journey is as enjoyable as possible,' Kenny said. He said some of the issues, such as vapes and e-scooters, weren't as common in the past, so people don't always know the rules around them. One issue he said has been particularly divisive is whether it is socially acceptable to listen to music and watch videos without earphones on public transport. 'Social norms appear to be clashing on the issue of audio playing out loud,' he added. 'It's not going to put your safety at risk, but it disturbs in what every other aspect might be a very enjoyable journey.' The Irish Rail service from Dublin to Cork now has specific quiet carriages, which people can book for their journeys. Kenny said passengers have respected these carriages rules, and Irish Rail are considering extending the service to it's Dublin to Belfast route too. Oasis land in Ireland ahead of mammoth Croke Park gigs

Oasis have landed in Ireland ahead of their huge two gigs in Croke Park this weekend. The Gallagher brothers et al are finally reaching our shores on Saturday and Sunday (August 16 and 17) for their reunion tour, nearly one year since they announced the tour and 16 years since their acrimonious split in 2009. The 162,000 people, and the country in general, are clearly mad fer it ahead of this weekend — with the band's rhythm guitarist and founding member Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs sharing a photo from a plane window showing the country from above, confirming the news that we've all been waiting for. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Paul Arthurs (@boneheadspage) Bonehead simply had one instruction for the Irish contingent on this leg of the tour in between Irish flag emojis and dance emojis: captioning the pic 'bring the noise,' while the comments were reaching a fever pitch ahead of the gigs. 'Awe class. See you in 3 days,' one person commented. 'All my dreams will actually come true once I see it's real. Keep up being the photographer during the tour. Some pics you've taken. Love it,' while another added 'Welcome to Dublin! Cannot wait to see you on Sunday!!' 'Bringing it all back home, enjoy every second Paul,' another added, while another wrote 'I hope you're ready Paul.' Oasis are in Ireland ahead of their Croke Park gigs this weekend. Pic: Emmett/Fear PR/PA Wire The band all have some Irish in them being second generation with Noel and Liam's parents famously being from Mayo and Meath. Bonehead, Tony 'Guigsy' McGuigan and original drummer Tony Carroll also all have Irish heritage. Oasis Mania has taken over the country ahead of the gigs, with Dublin Port sharing a video of the convoy of trucks that are carrying the stage ahead of the shows, while videos on TikTok have also seen what the stadium will look like. Of course, with so many people heading to the capital from around the country, logistics are set to be a huge part of the show — with Irish Rail issuing advice for people heading to the gigs, confirming that a number of intercity trains have sold out from Friday to Sunday. The band are set to play two huge gigs in Croke Park on Saturday and Sunday. Pic:A spokesperson for the rail service confirmed a busy weekend was coming up, with a number of Intercity routes already sold out from Friday through to Sunday. The additional trains from Dublin are 00.30 Dublin Heuston to Galway and 00.40 Heuston to Cork — with a connection at Limerick Junction for Limerick.
