Leaders Pay Floral Tributes To Atal Bihari Vajpayee At Sadaiv Atal

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Rajya Sabha Vice Chairman Harivansh Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj were among the leaders who joined in paying homage to the late leader.
Born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee was not only a statesman but also a poet and writer.
He served as India's Prime Minister three times -- first briefly in 1996 for 13 days, then from 1998 to 1999 for 13 months, and later for a full term from 1999 to 2004. Vajpayee passed away on August 16, 2018, at AIIMS in New Delhi.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, while speaking to reporters, said, "Today, we have come to pay our respects to Atal Ji on his death anniversary. Every year, we visit here on both his birthday and his death anniversary. Along with the President and Prime Minister of India, we participated in the prayer meeting. We always remember Atal ji."
BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj described Vajpayee as a guiding light.
"He was not just a leader but also our guide, a source of inspiration, and a visionary. Today, on his death anniversary, we have come to pay our respects to him," she said.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva recalled Vajpayee's lasting impact, stating, "Bharat Ratna Atal Ji was a great human being. His thoughts and speeches remain a source of inspiration for all of us party workers even today."
BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain also remembered the late leader, saying, "Today is a day to remember Atal Ji. He is fondly remembered for his immense service as Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister of India, and can never be forgotten."

Patna: Bharatiya Janata Party National Secretary Rituraj Sinha has launched a sharp attack on the INDIA bloc's Voter Adhikar Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, dismissing it as a 'Fake Voter Protection Yatra'. Sinha alleged that the yatra was not about protecting democratic rights but a well-planned conspiracy to safeguard duplicate voter cards, the names of deceased persons, and votes of illegal infiltrators. He questioned Rahul Gandhi directly, asking: 'Does Rahul Gandhi stand with those seven lakh fake voters identified by the Election Commission? Or does he justify voting in the name of 22 lakh dead people?' Claiming the campaign was designed to defend illegal residents in Bihar, Sinha said such infiltrators not only distort the vote bank but also pose a threat to the state's social fabric and security. 'Does Rahul Gandhi want to save the votes of infiltrators or protect the borders of the country?' he asked. Rahul Gandhi to kickstart 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' from Bihar's Sasaram today
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will on Sunday begin from here his 1,300 km-long 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' that will cover over 20 districts in Bihar, as the Congress steps up its campaign against what it claims to be "vote chori". With the Assembly polls barely three months away, Gandhi, along with RJD's Tejashwi Yadav and other Mahagathbandhan leaders, will launch the yatra from BIADA Ground Sasaram, and after 16 days, the yatra will conclude with a rally in Patna on September 1. Gandhi is also expected to address a gathering later this evening at Ramesh Chowk, Aurangabad. In a post in Hindi on X on Saturday, Gandhi had said, "16 days, 20+ districts, 1,300+ km. We are coming among the people with the Voter Adhikar Yatra. This is a fight to protect the most basic democratic right - 'one person, one vote'." "Join us in Bihar to save the Constitution," he added.
