A.P. CM Chandrababu Naidu rolls out red carpet for investors, promises record-time clearances
Addressing the annual summit of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in New Delhi on Friday, Mr. Naidu highlighted his government's industrial policies, the investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh and the ongoing development efforts.
The Andhra Pradesh government has set a target to transform the State into a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047 and the government is keen on making industrialists partners in the realisation of 'Swarna Andhra Vision– 2047', a long-term roadmap to transform the State into a leading hub for economy and innovation.
'We are leveraging the CBN brand to attract investments to Andhra Pradesh. Credibility is not built overnight. I invite you to visit Andhra Pradesh, assess the ground realities, and then invest. We are transparent, committed, and open for scrutiny,' the Chief Minister told the industrialists.
Mr. Naidu said that India's first Quantum Computing Centre would be set up in Amaravati by 2026, in collaboration with TCS, IBM, and L&T.
He urged the industry giants to harness this opportunity, highlighting that quantum computing, drones, IoT, and sensors are now bringing real-time data closer to businesses, and these domains will dominate the future. 'Our motto is not just Ease of Doing Business, but Speed of Doing Business,' Mr. Naidu said.
The Chief Minister said that the A.P. government would roll out a red carpet for investors. 'From the moment an application is filed to land allotment and clearances, it is our responsibility to ensure everything moves swiftly. I promise record-time clearances,' Mr. Naidu said.
Demographic dividend
Noting that India is currently at a demographic advantage, he stressed the need for the country to properly leverage the situation to reap rich dividends.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, calling it a key strength for the nation.
Technologies such as AI, Quantum Computing, and drones are now playing decisive roles in global development. The widespread use of CCTV cameras, sensors, and the Internet of Things (IoT) signifies the extent to which technology has penetrated our lives. In this evolving landscape, what society now needs the most are visionary industrialists, he said.
Mr. Naidu received a standing ovation for his address at the summit. The audience, mostly comprising top industrialists, applauded the Chief Minister's clarity on economic growth, technological transformation, and wealth creation.
Impressed by his address and interaction, CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee and CII president Sanjiv Puri, along with other dignitaries, felicitated Mr. Naidu, acknowledging his long-standing commitment to industrial development and innovation-led governance.

Telangana aims for 50% green cover by 2047 in guv's climate push
1 2 Hyderabad: In a strong push for climate action, Telangana governor Jishnu Dev Varma has called for a focused three-pronged strategy to tackle climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGEs). The governor emphasised that such an approach would deliver significant benefits to the economy, the environment, and society at large. Echoing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has united the global community on climate action and continues to lead efforts both domestically and internationally, the governor stressed the urgent need for coordinated action across key sectors. Jishnu Dev Varma underscored the importance of involving all relevant departments, including energy, transport, buildings, rural and urban development, industry, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in advancing renewable energy and accelerating energy efficiency initiatives. "Energy efficiency alone can contribute over 40% in mitigating climate change impacts," he noted. Recognising the importance of institutional energy leadership, the governor recommended that EESL conduct a comprehensive energy audit at Raj Bhavan and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, to assess the feasibility of transforming them into model energy-efficient campuses. He urged close coordination with the energy development agency for effective implementation.

Delhi Confidential: New assignment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme from his constituency Varanasi on Saturday. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, however, will not join the PM at the event as he has been asked to attend the programme in poll-bound Bihar. Chouhan will attend the function via videoconferencing from Patna. This is the first time since Chouhan took charge as the Agriculture Minister in June 2024 that he won't share the stage with PM Modi during the PM-Kisan installment release event. He has attended all three previous functions — at Varanasi (June 2024), Washim (October 2024) and Bhagalpur (February 2025) — in person. Pledge To Protect A recent drive showed that the Indian Armed Forces continue to be one of the biggest supporters of the country's organ donation initiatives. Since rolling out an Aadhaar-enabled digital database of organ donors, NOTTO, the country's apex organ donation regulator, has been conducting drives to get more and more people to sign up. In one such drive, the Indian Army, Mumbai recorded the highest number of pledges with nearly 26,000 Army personnel signing up for organ donation. On Back Burner Again Preparations for the BJP's annual Tiranga Yatra seem to have put a halt on the party's organisational elections in states such as UP and Gujarat, which, many within the BJP believe, is causing further delay in the process to elect the next national party president. BJP insiders say organisational activities around the programme have pushed the internal elections beyond 'at least August 15'.
